They were more like guidelines, anyway...

Here's a few of the items DD picked up for the party after halloween when everything was 75% off. Smart girl...

She's also going to use some of that thicker/foam posterboard (I'm not sure what it's called), cut them up and paint them to look like boards, then tape them over/board up the windows inside the building.

Yeah, I'm hoping that whoever makes hers can do a little better job. Not sure about you, but I think that one looks a little deflated. And dd doesn't like the white edge of icing around the brain. She wants it to look more like it got tossed onto a pretty cake in the heat of zombie battle. :rotfl:

Yeah it looks a little too neat. Maybe concave it in a little on one side with no edge??

My DD21 would love this! She has had her zombie apocalypse team in place for about a year now.

Exactly.

Oh, and sorry about the picture sizes. Not sure what's going on with photobucket. I resized them all to my standard size and they are not changing. I went back and did one of them even smaller. Saved and edited in my post....and it's the same size as before. Too much like work to figure it out, so I'm just gonna leave it. :rotfl2:

:rotfl2: :rotfl: Gotta love youth!
Actually, I'm having a lot of fun with her party planning too.
It's hokey, but fun too.
I hope her friends enjoy it as much as she does and she has a great 16th bash... :cool2:

LOVE the birthday party theme! How fun is that? :thumbsup2

Your list is fantastic...looks a little like the list I make when we go for our two week tent trip every summer! I agree with the idea to leave the laptop behind. BUT...good luck! We are so reluctant to let go of our devices these days!

Yeah. I just really don't think he's taking into account the fact that the computer will have to be stored in a tent or the trunk of the car for almost six day. The heat, the rain, the sand, the risk of theft... I'm not keen on having to pay for a replacement. :headache: He could access the internet on the kindle, but he's just insistent that he needs the computer.
On the plus side. I'll be doing the final packing and we plan to leave after he gets off work. I'm thinking I might be able to "forget" to pack the computer and he'll be so busy showering and rushing to get on the road, that he wouldn't notice until we're into Kentucky.... :rolleyes1 You never heard that. ;)

Heard what? ;) Your secret is safe with me! ::yes::

You weren't kidding about rule breaking!

I'm in.

Just for kicks I thought I'd share the NASTY cake DD wants to have made for her birthday party....

The "blood" is raspberry sauce. YUM!
:rotfl: :lmao: :rolleyes1

ETA: I'll try to get some pix of her party supplies to add. They're more funny, less grisly. My faves are the toe tag cup labels. lol.

Haha. This is great.

As long as you don't mention that I might have called mine a wuss....I won't mention anything about "forgetting" a computer. :lmao::rotfl2:

And thank you very much! :hippie:

Welcome!
Yeah, it's going to be a "horse of a different color" this time around. Have you noticed I'm a sucker for a good movie reference yet?
But I am really getting excited about doing things differently. I think I tried too hard on our last trip and sort of stressed myself out so I hope this goes much better! :woohoo:
Time will tell, I guess...

Is it sad that I knew right away from the picture with the soda machines that you were on a visit to Kings Island? The picture with your DS just confirmed it for me.

Glad to see someone else from my general area (Dayton, OH) getting to do a trip to Disney. I also prefer to drive if possible. I'm really looking forward to seeing how this all turns out for you! It definitely sounds like a fun trip!

Fellow Ohioan here. Although I live about 8 hours closer to Disney now(and have for the past 25 years) I was born and raised in a little town between Dayton and Springfield Ohio. I still think Kings Island is the best amusement park on this earth(and yes I have been to cedar point).

Hello and Welcome, fellow Tri-Stater. Not sad at all. They do have some fairly recognizable pop machines, don't they? And you can't miss them since they are in every line! :)
I'm from across the border, but Cinci is our home away from home and we have been to KI many, many times. The entire family are theme park lovers and we've gotten Gold Passes a few times over the years.
We love KI for the thrill rides. We love Disney for the atmosphere and theming. And Universal; well, it pretty much scores for both!!
We've driven to Florida so many times I can't remember them all. We flew to Orlando once and I doubt we will again. Just not worth the cost vs. time vs. stress.

Any trip reports you are working on? I'd love to hear about your plans also.

:cheer2: You got that right. I've been to three or four other amusement parks and none of them held a candle to KI. The only parks I like more are in Orlando. :p Obviously... (Well, Santa Clause Land is another fave, but more for the family friendly atmosphere and low crowds. KI still has the better rides.)
Don't tell any of the Disney Diehards, but the first time our family road Kali River Rapids, we were like "That's It?" We all thought KI's rapids ride was longer and more exciting. :rotfl:
Since then, we've ridden Universal's version and have decided it's the best. But, really, we love them all for different reasons. :thumbsup2

At least you know for sure when you will be there now. You definitely have my interest as now you will be returning home on my birthday!

I'm going to disagree on KI being better than Cedar Point, but then again, I worked at Cedar Point for two summers. :thumbsup2

I actually am working on a PTR myself and you can find it HERE. :goodvibes

Looking forward to more updates!

Love the lists! ;)

We really enjoyed the water parks on our last trip in 2009. I'm jealous!

If you have time, try to get over to AKL on one of your early nights. Jeff and I had dinner at Boma in 2010 and went early to walk around the resort. It is gorgeous and there is a ton to see with all the animals and pretty paths. :) Someday I'll stay there.....**sigh**

We've always taken advantage of EMH days and never had problems doing what we wanted. That's the one "rule" I consistently break!
