Yes, we're heading back to WS in large part due to the alcohol, but it's not all about that. We really would love this place even if it were dry. Not as much, but there would still be feelings. Today, though, we have something else we need to do, and that's use up the rest of our Dining Plan snack credits on various candies from around the world. See, and you thought it couldn't get any better. So where to first?
Well, first, the kids want slushies at the "Cool Wash", which is significantly less cool, in more ways than one, now that it's seemingly a soda stand full-time. No more misting? Or did we just catch it at the wrong times?
We get the kids one, and just one, because the others we got them this week all ended up melting, forcing me to drink liquid slushie in order to avoid dumping it all over the stroller.
On the way to WS, I grab a few photos:
Hey, don't I see TWO slushies in the picture? What's that all about?
Well, I'll tell you what it's about - it's about relying too much on receipts to recall what you did on your WDW vacation, and dismissing the possibility that you may have thrown the other slushie receipt away. So forget most of what I said earlier...only now we still run the chance of having TWO melted slushies teetering on top of the stroller as I push it with one hand, the other hand holding a beer that I can't put into a cup holder because they're both occupied by melted slushies. See the problems the slushies cause? If the kids would just toughen up and learn how to survive on their own saliva, things would be much easier. Not to mention that Mommy and Daddy could be irresponsible parents and still have the convenience of using the cupholders.
So, where to first? Neither of us are in the mood for Mexican drinks, and we're skeptical that the candy selection in this pavilion will be on par with what we're looking for. We're thining more European here, and the next place that fits that bill is Norway. Not to dismiss our neighbors to the south entirely, I snap this great picture:
And here's what Norway looks like:
Of course, I have a soft spot for this pavilion since it reminds me of a certain football team that I so enjoy having my heart broken by year after year, but there's enough here to allow it to stand on its own without that. Such as "Stratos", a great chocolate bar that we'll enjoy when we get back to Pennsylvania.
Another silly thing about me is that I get a big kick out of words in other languages that are spelled very similar to their English equivalents. That said, of course I'm smiling at 'melkesjokolade'. I know, it's juvenile. But fun. As are most things juvenile.
After the purchase, Kristin gets a wine and I get another Carlsberg, which to those of you "not in the know", is NOT Norweigian, but rather Danish. I learned that, right here in my Trip Report!
I get a picture of the Lagoon, which makes the weather look much worse than it really was:
Actually, it was sort of looking like rain today, which would be a break from the sweltering heat we've had the last 8 days. Emily takes refuge in the stroller:
Should we ride the Maelstrom now? Nah, let's hit that later. But let's grab Fast Passes now.
FPs in hand, I grab a few more pics before we move further east.
Norway looks like a nice place to visit, though I don't know if I can really get that excited over the prospect of having to mow the roof as well as the lawn. The lawn is plenty for me, thank you. Hey, look - we managed to get another picture of the kids pretending to get along!
They were actually pretty good today, so far. I think the break yesterday helped. So where to next? Well, logic (and the Epcot map) would say that from Norway you go to China, so that's where we're headed!
