The World of Warcraft Cataclysm Thread.

Ya BCB congrats. Do you use zygor or anything? How I find out my gear score. I'm 71 with my hunter almost 72. I'm in Coldarra right now and I finally got to see Dalaran. I feel so behind everybody bec you all have been playing for "years" and not me. (I'm deciding if I'll transfer her to WW or start a new one). Is there a good horde guild on there? My hunter is Alliance but I want to try both sides. Anyway BCB you forgot to mention what you hate about Rift?:surfweb:

Big Cuddly Bear: Thanks for mentioning why you dont like rift I finally found the entry where you DID tell us why. Sorry for harassing you :)

I think you'll be able to send BOAs to different realms after 4.2, IIRC

Bind on Account... basically an item that can be used across all of your characters.

To add a little more information, it's a piece of armor or weapon, and it scales with your level, getting a little bit better with each level you pick up, therefore reducing the need to constantly be on the lookout for better gear. The biggest bonus in most people's eyes, though, is that the chest and shoulder pieces offer a +10% XP bonus each, helping your "twinked" out toons level faster.

Twink = a toon that has a bunch of BoA's equipped (or possibly some expensive, rare armor that a normal toon wouldn't be able to make/afford/obtain), making them better than normal toons of that level.

I'm not so sure, I will have to look into that. In patch 4.1, they made BoA's bind to battle.net account. At first, I believed this was going to make them available to send to other servers, but that apparently isn't the case.

Bind on Battle.net account means that if you have two WoW accounts, and have them merged together on your battle.net account, you can send BoA's from one account to the other account, as long as it still remains on that same realm.

So, say for example, a husband and a wife. Two seperate accounts, but they could possibly use one battle.net account. The husband could buy BoA's and mail them to his wife's toon (if it's the same realm) since they're on the same BN account.

I was a little disappointed when I found out this is what they meant.

My DD14 doesnt know it yet, but she gets her own account for the summer. I will link to my Battlenet acct. This is good news cause I have a bunch of useless BOA stuff.

hi guys...just saw this thread and thought i'd check in. i play an 85 tauren druid on Rexxar. got few others in the 80-83 range mixed in on both factions. so you guys mostly doing pvp or raiding?

Welcome saturn11. I wish I could say I was doing either of those things. I know most of the people here are. I am new and have not even reached lvl 72 on my main.
But Welcome.

I was a raider until my new schedule made it impossible...I do dabble in PVP, but prefer it at the lower level, though I have never twinked..

Neither. It's either questing, mining, herb-pulling or fishing :rotfl2:.

Now that I look closer I think you are correct. I saw the Bind on Bnet account info and for some reason thought it was cross realm BOA transfer and when it didn't happen this patch thought it was coming in 4.2

Welcome. I mostly do PvP now, but am wanting to get back into raiding eventually. I raided religiously in vanilla but by the time BC came along I was burned out on raiding. I did raid a little when ICC came out in Wrath, but not on a regular basis and only got to the 7th boss.

I'm slowly gearing my Shaman for healing (I healed during vanilla and kinda miss it) and will eventually use him for raiding. I like the honor for justice exchange as it allows me to gear him up without having to do a bunch of heroics where my subpar healing will cause a wipe. People in BGs are happy to get any kind of healing, even if it's below heroic standards ;)

Well met and salutations weary traveler.... oh wait, Im not on a RP server.

WAZZUP BRAHSKI

I have 4 85's

Treznak - Gnome Sub Rogue - Whisperwind PvP toon 50k Hks
Fordin - Dwarf Prot Pally - Whisperwind PvE toon with some pvp
Cayan - Nelf Resto Druid - Whisperwind PvE toon (funny, she doesnt look druish)
Wintgerbolt - Gnome Frost Mage - Whisperwind PvP toon 16k Hks

I am 2nd in command of Brewhaus - Whisperwind, leader of our PvP activities... which pretty much is just me. :)

If I am on Treznak, and youre Red, youre dead! or I will be rezzing and running back to try again. :rotfl2:

I also have twinked, but its been a long while since Ive dont that. Been playing since Vanilla.

Finally doing Uldum.... for some reason my 85 pally was never able to do the quests there. I am enjoying it. Now, at 83, though, it seems that level 83 mobs are harder to kill with my mage than level 82 mobs were when I was level 82... a lot harder. And my item level is now 311, or 313, I think....

I hope to instance tonight.

Last night I was in a random queue, and the instance just got ready, and my server crashed... :rotfl: ... after 18 minutes in queue.

So next up is to level a holy priest, and I am clueless about that. I have an 80+ shadow priest on Horde, but this is a level 36 holy priest that I will offspec disc. I don't even know what my best gear to get is except that I want SPI and INT.

This is my pattern, get a toon to 85, lose interest, and level something else. No desire / time to raid....

I have found the mobs in Uldum and later Tol Barad hit like MACK TRUCKS! I mean you are in mostly quest greens and blues when you head there, so I have NO idea why they made them so hard...but Uldum was a nice area!

Saturn, hello there!! We seem to be a motley crew, all of us with different play styles and interests. Myself, I have 3 lvl 85's. A shadow/holy priest which I love, a prot/holy pally (that I haven't learned how to heal on yet) and a destro lock. I'm a PvE'er, I don't find pvp all that interesting. I like to fish, farm flowers, run dungeons with guildies, stuff like that.

Grog: I was very excited when I first read about the "bind on bnet" because I assumed you could send them to any character on your account. It wasn't til the day the patch came out and people on the forums were talking about it that I realized that wasn't the way it was going to work. I wish, though!

BCB and Dax: OMG, yes! Tol Barad is awful to get through at first. The things spawn so freaking fast, one on top of another, beating you to a pulp! It does get better once you get some gear, BCB, so don't freak out right away.

Excuse my ignorance-Is Tol Barad a Cata zone? I was just in Borean tundra and I had a quest where I had to kill a guy on an elephant and I would kill it and him and it would respawn right away! There was about three of them at once at one time attacking me and I JUST killed him! Wierd. Is that how fast it spawns or is that lag or something? I haven't seen that before or since.

Yes Tol Barad is a lvl 85 daily quest hub...both horde and ally are there together...and the mobs hit hard and spawn fast
