The World of Warcraft Cataclysm Thread.

Well I'm partial to melee, but you can't be a Pally worgen! So maybe a Fury or Arms Warrior Worgen?

I've never been a huge fan of pallys, but that might be a holdover from my D&D days. :lmao: I might go get the expansions tonight or tomorrow and start playing around with them.

I'm finally clearing my schedule to start playing again. Need to get Cataclysm (and Lich King - bad gamer geek, no candies for me!) My friends want a DPS, and I am leaning toward rolling a Worgen of some sort. Any advice from regular players?

I hate my worgen warrior, but I am not a good warrior regardless of race. The worgen starting area is FEROCIOUS.... and you will be there until about level 14 or 15. I have 2 worgen, and as best as I can tell, the worgen starting zone is almost 100% linear. You can't just leave it like humans, dwarves, elves.... can

I don't even know if it is possible to get back to the starting zone if you want to.... though I have so far not had a reason to want to go back.

I do enjoy my worgen rogue.

BTW, if you like doing dungeons... by all means be a warrior... you get in LITERALLY within seconds most times.... If you are DPS, 30 minute waits are not uncommon.

Well, half my consideration (or more) is solo play, but some friends have a weekly meetup on another server, and they are looking for a DPS. (IIRC, they already have a tank, healer and some hunter build - I suspect that they really want a spellslinger of some sort. I should just roll one of those, and play a Wolgren warrior on my own, maybe. I have a lot more experience as a spellcaster than a warrior build, though a lot of it involves running away. :rotfl: )

Can't leave either the Worgen or Goblin starting zones and once left can't go back. Can't even be summoned from them by a lock. I really enjoyed the Worgen starting zone and would have finished it anyway even if leaving was an option.

If you don't want to play a melee DPS I would recommend a Mage. Spec frost for leveling and you'll be pretty much untouchable. being able to port from city to city is also a big plus when leveling a Mage. Really cuts down on travel time.

Yeah, I have an alliance frost mage already - just was looking for something a little different. No biggie to roll the same thing - at least it will be horde instead of alliance, after all.

My mage is now level 72. I am dual specced fire and frost. Fire kills faster, but I die more. I will be getting rid of frost and my second spec is going to be arcane when I finally remember to change it.

I absolutely LOVE being able to port almost anywhere I need to go ( or close )... but I also love being paid to port people.

I specced Arcane in Wrath for raiding and loved it. Never bothered dual speccing back then because of the cost. Now that it's cheap I tend to forget the option is there.

Well my DH has his account back....not before waiting almost an hour on hold with Blizz support...but the account is ours, and everything is restored...bout time..

You looking for a spell flinger? What about a lock....its been compared to mages...they are a lot of fun to play...Also a Boomkin...you can duel spec to either melee DPS or spell DPS...

Glad he's back up and running!

I have an 85 Pally, 84 Druid and several other's I'm leveling that are above 60.

Not sure about my guild anymore and thinking of server xfering yet again.

I can honestly say that healing as a pally (or healing in general) since Cata came out is a PITB. It took me a long time to get used to using almost all my spells as opposed to 2.

Yea, I'm finding mana management very challenging on the priest as well.

I quite like my Warlock. I think they offer great Versatility, and are pretty awesome. I chose demonology spec because it again seemed the most versatile and I got a Felhunter which was great at lower levels.

I did roll up a Worgen Hunter on Cata launch morning.... and the Starting area is pretty amazing! very linear, and well planned.

I wasn't a fan of the goblin one... The voices got annoying real fast.

OMG Speaking of voices. I've only played female characters. Well I rolled my worgen priest and I'm embarassed to make her /lol! She sounds like a dude! And don't even get me started on the worgen female dance. I'll switch to human form and /dance.

But those are honestly my only two gripes about the worgen. I did roll a goblin and that starting zone was pretty dang cool too!

Well, I tried installing Cata (& Lich), but kept getting a file error. Had to uninstall and reinstall from my old discs - downloaded install.exe ran into the same problem. Everything is installed, but there is still a couple gig of sundry updates to get. It's "playable", but I'm willing to wait until later tonight to play.

Have to install vent too. Hopefully that is less of a problem.

OMg THIS! I agree! IMHO, they look like Furries... with bad 80's hair, not werewolves... but I still like them a lot! :lmao:

So what is UP WoW peeps? Been plugging along in Azeroth...not really doing all that much. I rolled me a orc shaman, and went Resto...and so far, I love it. Nothing to complain about yet.

Just waiting for 4.1 to hit now...hoping that will add a new dynamic to the already run its course expansion..

So what is everyone else up too:surfweb:

Hey everyone!

Not too much going on. We found another guild to run some stuff with so we actually managed to get thru a heroic on Saturday! Super excited about that and they all seem very nice. Other than doing that and dailies, I got Allyria to 78 and I'm seriously considering a race change on her. She's been worgen all the way this long but I am just getting tired of that husky laugh. Pathetic I know!

Up to nothing this last week. I was busy moving. In fact, I am at the new house alone tonight as the painters will be here at 7:30 tomorrow, they say. Just about to sign on WoW for the first time in several days.

I have to go read about 4.1 now... :lmao:
