The World of Warcraft Cataclysm Thread.

Hey guys. Well I got the priest in to LK regulars this week by just pugging. And wow what a difference in attitudes going from BC to LK. Tanks are obnoxious and dps dont even bother to wait until tanks grab aggro. And then there is me. Freshly turned 68 and the tank automatically just runs thru the whole dungeon. Up until this time I've only had to use maybe 10 mana potions alltogether. (Even thru classic and BC) but just today alone I've gone through about 25 mana potions! But at least I'm better geared than I was this morning. So hopefully now I wont be using them as often since I've gotten my spirit up a bit as well. Sheesh though it's a whole new ballgame pugging these. I'm ready to be up so I can go back to exclusivingly playing with my guildmates. I can't even begin to imagine how bad things will be once I reach Cata with PuGs.

It should all be much better in about 3 months when more people are all geared. By the time I was running heroics in LK, everybody was so well geared that nobody was a jerk. And most drops were greed, while I was doing lots of need.

I qualify level wise for Cata but don't have the right gear yet, so I haven't been able to get into the dungeons. I am excited about the new patch change for locks... yay res with a soulstone.

These are my two "mains" at the present. I also have horde toons on Nestingwary and a few Alliance on The Scryers but I rarely play over there.

I don't DIS much anymore so I only just found this thread.

Been playing WoW since January of 2005. Started as a Human Pally. After running MC and BWL until my eyes bled, the guild I was in finally broke apart over loot drama, etc, and I rerolled Horde and became a more casual player. Did more raiding in Wrath when ICC came out (mostly on my Mage), but back to being casual for now.

Have three Horde 85s. Tauren Hunter, mainly for PvP., BElf Mage, and Troll Shaman. Also have a 77 Worgen Rogue which I rolled just to see the starting zone and was having so much fun with that I decided to get him to 85.

All these toons are on the Khadgar server.

In your opinion what is the best way to do that? my ilevel is 211 and it needs to be 262 to do the Cata dungeons. How did you all get your ilevel up?

LOL, well, my guildies gave me gear....

Anyway, I am leveling this mage, and am now at level 71, which is the worst part of the game for me... I absolutely hate levels 70 - 75..... I love it when I can go to Zul Drak and Icecrown ( the zone, not the raid )

Going through Northrend right now for the fourth time on my rogue. Did a bunch of leveling the past couple of days and he's 79 with about seven bars to go. I don't mind Icecrown but am avoiding Zul Drak like the plague. For some reason I can't stand that zone.

I'm actually looking forward to doing the 80-85 zones again as I've never done them from the Alliance point of view.

Well I went form an ilvl 211 to ilvl 220 is about an hour... by simply switching from Vash'jir to Mount Hyjal. Hopefully I will get to try my first Raid tonight.

Well ladies and gents,

My WoW weekend was eventful to say the least! Friday morning I logged in to check my auctions as I usually do and found Cordylia in the middle of some raid running some stranger toon thru. I kept getting dc'ed so immediately knew I had been hacked. I logged into battle.net and changed my password asap, got the mobile authenticator and reported it to the Powers That Be. This was roughly around 6am. I logged back in to check out the damage.

My 85 prot warrior and my (now) 74 priest were completely scuttled and naked. I think they must have been in the process of going thru Cordy too but at least she still had her gear intact. And naturally since I'm GM of our guild, yep, they took the gold. Fortunately no items, they only took the money, and all my toons money.

There is good news though, by 10am Blizzard had ALL my stuff back. Of course it was a nightmare to sort thru. But the odd thing is this... they sent back all the gear and items that Cordy had looted in doing her midnight raid run). I didn't quite know what to do with the stuff. I tried googling to see what to do with it but most people just kept the gear. Somehow that didnt feel right. I held onto it all weekend but finally I vendored or AH what I could. Although my tailor was quite happy, Cordy sent her about 400 netherweave cloth.

In other news, I got Allyria (the priest) up to 74! Just trucking along. Hope all your weekends started out much better than mine!

I have that authenticator. It sure does give piece of mind.

BTW, I don't know about your servers, but since Cata, the price of bags is OUTRAGEOUS... pre Cata, Frostweave bags were 45g... now I am even seeing them as much as 225g. And 165g at the low end. I created a tailor. Problem is that I don't feel like leveling another toon, so he may never really be the money maker I had hope he would be. My 71 mage is at 450 in Alchemy. So far this profession is a money pit, but people keep telling me that at 85 it will be a big money maker because of transmuting.... I don't know.... it seems that while the transmuted products - especially truegold - do sell for a lot of money, you could almost sell the mats for almost as much. Though, truth be told, I have only transmuted one thing so far - Primal Might. Sold it for 110g, but the mats could have sold for 90g or so.... so big whoop.

I find it funny you say that...DH got hacked ALSO this weekend...LAST NIGHT in fact! He was actually logged in around 11:30p, when he got kicked off. He noticed he had an email for a password change. He tried to log in, and nothing. He then woke me up. For the next 45min, I tried to stay one step ahead of the hacker...unfortunatly, he got the better of us, and changed the EMAIL address of the battlenet account on us!! I managed to get in on my account and was actually standing NEXT TO the hacker..LOL..

I also managed to get a ticket opened. The GM was very nice, and they locked the account right then and there, and said they were gonna roll back everything...well as of this writing at 10a, that has still not happened. I cannot get into battlenet yet..I hope I dont need to call in later..

I will be buying him an authenticator this week...We are trying to figure out how they got in...everything is secure...all scans were clean...

But as far as authenticators go, I just downloaded the mobile authenticator. It's free and basically does the same thing as the paid for one (well, provided you have a smartphone).

BCB, I disagree. Alchemy has netted me so much money. I make a killing on flasks and healing/mana potions. I always be sure to put them up on Friday morning and by the time I get home form work usually most of them are gone. I farm during the week. I dont usually put my transmute stuff up but flasks and pots are my bread and butter.

Yea no smart phone...I am so behind the times...but DH is against cell phone contracts..LOL...so meh...he was also the one who said that he would never get hacked...so....

I'm finally clearing my schedule to start playing again. Need to get Cataclysm (and Lich King - bad gamer geek, no candies for me!) My friends want a DPS, and I am leaning toward rolling a Worgen of some sort. Any advice from regular players?

Well I'm partial to melee, but you can't be a Pally worgen! So maybe a Fury or Arms Warrior Worgen?
