Im really just doing this in fun, because its the ONLY place that I can talk about my extremely unplanned, vastly impromptu trip.
I leave in 2 ½ days for Orlando.
Hi, Im Jenn.
I decided about a day and a half ago that I am going to take my 2 kids (DD2 and DS4) to WDW and join up with a dear friend of mine for 6 days (May 29-June 4).
I know, I know Im crazy.
This is the absolute nuttiest thing I have ever done.
People take impromptu trips all the time. But chances are they dont take these types of trips when you live over 800 miles away.
May is a notoriously crazy month for me, and this year has been no exception. Except my May began the end of April and has not let up in weeks.
I was given the invitation to join my friend and her family a few months ago, but I declined. We (DH, myself, and the kids) were in WDW for 6 days back in September, and I had to promise DH no more family trips until 2015. Well, 3 months later, I was invited to go to WDW with my BFF, E, and her mom in December 2011 (which I accepted). So yeah, we didnt need to go again or do we?
:
Since May has not disappointed, last weekend was the icing on the cake. I had the honor to be asked to photograph a wedding for a friend of my SILs. Bless the brides heart Murphys Law was in full effect the day of the ceremony. I put on my best smile and went to work, did my thing, and helped out where I could! Less than 20 hours after the wedding, I was in immediate care with DD. She not only developed pink eye she developed DOUBLE pink eye with a side of sinus infection!
I officially hit my wall and experienced my first (and hopefully ONLY) mid-30 crisis.
I sat in my chair Sunday night and around 11p the light bulb came on. I still had an invitation to go to Florida with my friend. I texted her to see if there was still room (for 3). DH said I could go, but I had to take the kids.
REALLY?????
I found out that there was still room in the condo, but not in the van, so if we came along, we would have to drive separately.
Okay I can handle that.
Even better to have our own car because A) Im not crazy about Disney buses and B) the other family is spending two days at Sea World and I would rather go to WDW.
So here I sit, just a couple days away from our departure fashioning four new autograph books (one for each kid going: 5, 4, 2, and 2) and figuring out what I need to pick up at the dollar store.
Have I mentioned this is going to be an extreme budget trip???
We have NO ADRs, we are staying offsite, and I will be driving everywhere. I plan to pack at least one meal per day to 1) save money and 2) minimize our downtime we lost a lot of touring time in September due to food and buses.
