The Woman Report- Update 4/24 Final Thoughts p. 74

Another great installment!! I am glad you got to have your date night, the sitter sounded like a dud, LOL. One of these days I will have to get "wine" advice from you before our trip, I want to start drinking it with dinner. Bill says he will try it as long as it doesn't taste "bitter".

Think I could get him to try Beverly at Epcot? We will see.

I'm still here for the ride, and enjoying every minute of it!

My DH and I stayed at the Grand, for the first time by ourselves in February. We had such a nice time, and also loved the outdoor fireplace.

I hope that your children liked their babysitter. My DD used to be a hired sitter for the big resort hotels in San Diego. She was refered by a teacher from college. She really loved it, and made good money. She must have been pretty good, cuz she was requested alot from repeat customers. She eventually became a part time nanny, for a few years. She is now a third grade teacher. :goodvibes

Anyways, what I wanted to say is, that if you weren't happy with the sitter, the company should know your concerns. Especially if you were not going to call them back again for the next night.
NOT GOOD!:sad2:

And ditto about those lifeguards. :headache: I hope you said something to the hotel about them!! Because of them, it sounds like you have a sour taste in your mouth about the hotel, and that is definitely not gud.:sad2:

OK...........Looking forward to your next installment about DL :yay:

That seemed like a fun Date Night! :lovestruc
Silly Tarzan Man! :lmao:
I second Jodis question. How did the kids do with the sitter?

Welcome aboard!!! :goodvibes Thanks

That's a long drive, but I bet it would've been pretty.

Buzz showed me his new hat from Canada yesterday. I'd never seen it before and I asked him, "When did you go to Canada?" He meant the Canada in Epcot. :headache: I forgot about that Canada. FUNNY!!:)

We used to drive to DL when the kids were little, but I don't think they'd enjoy that anymore. They like to get there quick.
Hi Linnie! I'm just watching Regis dancing like Mick Jagger but gotta get out the door to aquacize class. I'm only on p25 but I am really enjoying your TR:cloud9: Your family is so real and funny:hug:

Sounds like a wonderful date night for you and Buzz, especially the romantic fireplace, until the others showed up. But you still had fun with them. Was it a smoking area that you were in?

She forgot to mention that the bag of gummy bears she ate were gone in about 5 minutes... a BIG bag! :rotfl2: By the end, she wasn't even chewing the bears... just gulping 'em down like snake might eat a rat.

The kids told us they liked the sitter. :confused3 LeeAndra was under the bed when we arrived... she was either playing with the sitter or hiding from us as we entered.

She was pointy or pokey for me. I slept gud. Until Lin started snoring.

We go to the hotel bar and get some drinks when I remind Buzz that he needs to go get the $150 gift certificate we forgot to get when we checked in. Earlier, they’d called our room and reminded us. Of course, he wants me to do it. I didn’t feel like it, so I give him the song and dance about how it’s in his name and it needs to be him getting it. He buys my line of bull and goes to get it. I find a nice place to sit and sip my wine. The bar is beautiful and I’m just happy.

Good song and dance :rotfl2:

Buzz comes back with the gift certificate and happily announces we can use it to buy supplies like snacks and stuff. Uh, or I can use it for shopping. We decide to use it for both. Compromise. :thumbsup2

Wooohoooo, shopping!!! :thumbsup2

We get to the restaurant and were immediately seated. It’s a nice place, but a little fancy for us. We order a crab cake for an appetizer and a bottle of wine. Buzz and I aren’t really fancy people so it’s a little bit not our style, but what the heck. The crab cake was good. Pretty soon this other family comes and sits across from us. They look super tired. They’ve got 5 kids with them and the younger one (about 2) is knocking over glasses, breaking them and shrieking at the top of her lungs. The parents are exasperated. We’re amused. :) They need a good glass of wine!! The meal was great, ambience a little pretentious, but very nice.

Sounds yummy - crab & steak = gud stuff! :goodvibes

I had a steak (I’m so predictable), which was excellent! Buzz had something. I can’t remember. I love rib eye steaks with fat on them. I know it’s gross, but I love the fat! Best part of the steak. I’ll say it for everyone, “Eeeeuuuwww!!” I love it though.

Shhh... if you don't tell anyone, I'll admit that I feel the same way! My dh always makes sure that he always gets me the steak with the good fat on it, regardless of what other steaks he's buying :lovestruc

On our way back we walked through Downtown Disney. We walked along and chatted with a DVC CM, asking questions about buying into the DVC in CA. We were seriously thinking about it. One more encounter with the lifeguards the next day changed my mind though. :confused3

:sad2:

It was pretty early and we weren’t quite ready to go back yet. We stopped for a glass of wine in the hotel bar and Buzz found this great outdoor fireplace. It was so nice to sit outside with a fire, sipping wine. Very relaxing and romantic. Before too long, we were joined by a gal about our age who’d came out to smoke. She was hilarious-talking a mile a minute. Then another couple came out-the guy wanted to smoke a cigar.

Sounds lovely :goodvibes

Buzz has to use the bathroom and after he gets out of sight, I hear this obnoxious Tarzan-like yell. :sad2: I know it’s Buzz but I pretend like it’s not. The smoker lady says, “That sounds like your's.” Good grief. I know it is. I still pretend it might not be. Buzz comes back and asks if people heard that drunk guy yelling!:lmao: They all say they thought it was him and he actually convinces them it wasn’t! We visited with them for awhile more and then hit the gift shop.

Yep, "that sounds like yours" seems right :rotfl2:

Thanks to Goof, the kids have tons of pins to get started on their pin trading! Thank you!! :thumbsup2 We got a few new ones for ourselves and bought lanyards. We’re official pin traders now!

Oh boy, I'm so afraid to even start with the pins :scared1: We don't even have lanyards, so I think we're safe from the pin-trading frenzy (until we get to WDW and I go insane buying the things because they're so cute :rotfl:)

We go back up to the room, pay the sitter, send her packing and settle in for bed. I’d gotten LA a bag of gummy bears. She loves those. She and Trey were more interested in the chips, however, and because I’m watching what I eat due to my extremely sensitive G.I. system, I only eat a few bears. We chat and laugh about the day and next thing I know I’d eaten the WHOLE bag of gummy bears. I haven’t had that many carbs for nearly a year! I felt so guilty!! :guilty: But they were worth it! Poor LA didn’t get any. I hid the empty bag so she wouldn’t know I ate them all. :sad2:

Mmmm ... gummy bears

So tonight we swapped kids. I get to sleep with the Human Heat Machine and Buzz gets Pointy, Sharp Girl. I read for a little then fell asleep.

Ah, well, that's what's in store for us in October - two double beds means dh & I will each sleep with one ds. NO WAY can dh and I sleep in a double bed together - we'd fight in our sleep, I'll bet :lmao:

Only one of our boys is a poking, pushing and pointy sleeper, so I'll make sure he sleeps with dh :rotfl:

Next up: We Hit Disneyland, need I say more!! :cheer2:

Yay, can't wait to read more, Linnie! popcorn::

:surfweb: I've spent way to long here this morning catching up on your trip report! We love Disneyland and the Grand Californian. We missed not being able to walk right into the parks at WDW.

We haven't ever had encounters with the lifeguards at GC, though my DH did have one with a lifeguard at Coronado Springs.
