Is that what it's doing in NY too?

BTW, we've missed you DM!
Yes. Icky stinky rain but it's better than snow. But it's supposed to be 67 tomorrow. And thanks for missing me. I was so sick I didn't feel like having to read anything on the computer let alone reply. I figure it was just best to stay off and get back to my regular self, well almost.

I'm sorry you weren't feeling well, but I'm glad you're feeling somewhat better today! :flower3:

Your profile picture is making me giggle - poor Veruca :lmao:

Sounds like a great night Linnie and OMG how do you put up with Buzz doing Tarzan noises :sad2: :rotfl2:

So do you have photos of your pins????

So, did the kids have fun with the sitter?

Not fun, really, but they did ok. LA said she was nice.

Gosh, wonder WHOOOOOOO that drunk guy was?

I have no clue....:sad2:

You HIT Disneyland!?! that wasn't very nice of you.

:lmao:

That sounds like yours....was she a DISer?

I don't think so. I never thought of that though! :)

Another great installment!! I am glad you got to have your date night, the sitter sounded like a dud, LOL. One of these days I will have to get "wine" advice from you before our trip, I want to start drinking it with dinner. Bill says he will try it as long as it doesn't taste "bitter".

Thank you Tracy. :goodvibes

Yeah, bitter wine is not good. We've been into wine for about 14 years now. Our basic rule of thumb is we drink what we like. I guess you're supposed to drink white with chicken & fish and then red for steak and stuff but I mostly like red. I do like some whites. My brother got me one for Christmas one year and it was excellent. :thumbsup2

I'm still here for the ride, and enjoying every minute of it!

Thank you! :goodvibes

My DH and I stayed at the Grand, for the first time by ourselves in February. We had such a nice time, and also loved the outdoor fireplace.

That was such a nice spot!!

I hope that your children liked their babysitter. My DD used to be a hired sitter for the big resort hotels in San Diego. She was refered by a teacher from college. She really loved it, and made good money. She must have been pretty good, cuz she was requested alot from repeat customers. She eventually became a part time nanny, for a few years. She is now a third grade teacher.

Anyways, what I wanted to say is, that if you weren't happy with the sitter, the company should know your concerns. Especially if you were not going to call them back again for the next night.
NOT GOOD!

She turned out to be ok. The kids seemed happy with her. We've had some awesome ones in Florida so we're a little spoiled. That's great that your DD has done so well!! :thumbsup2 Third grade is a fun grade!!

And ditto about those lifeguards. :headache: I hope you said something to the hotel about them!! Because of them, it sounds like you have a sour taste in your mouth about the hotel, and that is definitely not gud.

OK...........Looking forward to your next installment about DL

I did for a little bit. The pool without the lifeguards was definitely my favorite of the two!!

That seemed like a fun Date Night!
Silly Tarzan Man!
I second Jodis question. How did the kids do with the sitter?

It was! If he's Tarzan does that make me Jane? :confused3 They did ok. LA said she didn't play with them, but she was nice anyway.

sounds like a fun night.

I love sitting outside by a fire and having wine. so relaxing.

It was. I want to get one of those fire pits for our patio, but my brother said his turns his grass and cement black. :confused3

Scott! We do that almost every night in the summer! Come to the beach in RI this summer. We`ll have a FRESH lobster dinner on my deck in front of the fire with wine or beer or tequila.

Ah, that sounds wonderful!!

Mmmm, steak fat. Yum.

Yep! I love it! :thumbsup2

Hi Linnie! I'm just watching Regis dancing like Mick Jagger but gotta get out the door to aquacize class. I'm only on p25 but I am really enjoying your TRYour family is so real and funny

Thank you. Regis dancing like Mick Jagger? :lmao:

Sounds like a wonderful date night for you and Buzz, especially the romantic fireplace, until the others showed up. But you still had fun with them. Was it a smoking area that you were in?

I think it was. It was still fun though.

about Buzz doing the Tarzan yell!

It sounds like a nice night.

It was. Buzz was pretty funny doing that. One time we were at a bar with friends and it was pretty empty. Buzz and the other guy went into the bathroom and I heard this gigantic burp. I just shoook my head b/c I knew it was Buzz. I told him when he came back that I knew it was him. He was so shocked that I heard him!! It was super loud!!

She forgot to mention that the bag of gummy bears she ate were gone in about 5 minutes... a BIG bag! :rotfl2: By the end, she wasn't even chewing the bears... just gulping 'em down like snake might eat a rat.

Ok, first of all, the bag was a medium sized bag and it took me a half hour to finish them off!!

Until Lin started snoring.

Yeah, I can't argue this one. I had a sinus infection. Still do....

Shhh... if you don't tell anyone, I'll admit that I feel the same way! My dh always makes sure that he always gets me the steak with the good fat on it, regardless of what other steaks he's buying

I'll never tell!! ;)

Oh boy, I'm so afraid to even start with the pins We don't even have lanyards, so I think we're safe from the pin-trading frenzy (until we get to WDW and I go insane buying the things because they're so cute

They really are cute. And I can tell this is going to be one expensive hobby!! :scared:

Ah, well, that's what's in store for us in October - two double beds means dh & I will each sleep with one ds. NO WAY can dh and I sleep in a double bed together - we'd fight in our sleep, I'll bet

Buzz and I can't either. He is way too much of a bed hog. He sleeps right in the middle. You could fit a whole other person on the other side of him!!

I've spent way to long here this morning catching up on your trip report! We love Disneyland and the Grand Californian. We missed not being able to walk right into the parks at WDW.

We haven't ever had encounters with the lifeguards at GC, though my DH did have one with a lifeguard at Coronado Springs.

Uh oh, what happened?

We did love how convenient it was!!

Hey Lin, I keep forgetting to tell you that I really like these guys! Very cute..

Thank you!!

So do you have photos of your pins????

I have no idea how I do it. :sad1:

We don't have pics of the pins, but I can take some!

:rotfl2: ........I did type Buss by accident
I call my DH "Butt"

:lmao:

My ex SIL didn't know how to spell Buzz so she would spell it Buxx. She signed us up for something at a place she worked at. Every time we got something for Buxx, I knew it was from her. :dance3:

Uh oh, what happened?

It wasn't a really big deal. I'm a rule follower, but I want the rules to be the same for everyone! Which is why this was annoying. On our second day of vacation DH and the kids were in the pool. So were a whole group of cheerleaders who were doing stunts in the water, including putting each other on shoulders and doing lifts. No big deal, they weren't loud, well no louder than anyone else in the pool. Anyway DH put our 9 year old on his shoulders and promptly got reprimanded by the lifeguard that, that wasn't allowed. However the cheerleaders were still doing it. DH didn't mind being told not to do something it was just annoying that the rule wasn't enforced for everyone.

There is no good crown... lol! I'm a vodka girl though (or now tequila)

I would've been irritated too. It makes you feel picked on when one can do it, but not you. At the GC pool, we weren't really being picked on, but it sure felt that way.

What was "Tarzan" Buzz trying to say to LTP?
Should we use our "Disney" imaginations?:lmao:

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:
