The Woman Report- Update 4/24 Final Thoughts p. 74

The Mickey Head paint chips. I think we made three trips to grab enough for our countdown. When we did it the first time, I think I started at 60 days or something like that. Unfortunately, some of the numbers got thrown away. So, I had to start at 35 this time. Can't wait until I can put them back up again for our October Ip-Dip trip! :cool1: :cool1:

Ah!! The Mickey Head paint chips! That's a GREAT idea! I may steal it for our fall countdown.

OMG I would have freaked over the spilt popcorn, only cos I'm so tight I wouldn't have wanted to waste any :rotfl:

How scary about the car trunk (getting better with your strange American words :thumbsup2) and Buzz should have been a gentleman and gotten out!!!!

Can't wait to read more as I don't really know much about DL!

Just curious-what do you call a trunk in your neck of the woods?

Seriously, you ROCK! :worship: Do you think you could post a really close-up picture of your calendar - yep, so I can copy the formatting :lmao: Never mind Buzz making fun of your pictures - for pete's sake, he still wears the stretchy shorts!

That's true! He asked on the trip, "Where are my stretchy shorts?" I said, "I know where I'd like them to be!" (Like I'm in charge of the stretch shorts-sheeesh.) I'll try to post an up-close shot of the chart. I'll do some monkeying around with it.

Hi Linnie - I'm joining in the fun! I mostly lurk over on Buzz's never-ending TR. I love hearing about your family adventures! I've never been to DL so this will be an exciting new adventure for me. :goodvibes
Amy

Thank you and welcome!! I don't think Buzz's TR will ever end!

Hey, I thought you said this was gonna go faster than..err....that OTHER thread. :confused3 :flower3:

Uh oh! I better get moving!! We had 2 good shows to watch last night so I slacked off a little. (Survivor and Celebrity Apprentice)

I love all the popcorn smilies-I'm starting to crave some.

I love all the popcorn smilies-I'm starting to crave some.

I just popped some for DD4 and her friend that is over here playing. So, I keep seeing the smilies and then smelling the popcorn... I think I'm going to have to make another batch! popcorn::

Small Room & Sore Eyeballs
Our room was the last one at the end of a very long hallway. We reach our door, Buzz unlocks it and holds it open for the kids while we attempt to get the luggage in. LeeAndra comes running back out yelling, “There’s something wrong with our room! It’s not all there! Where’s the rest of it???” :confused3

They were so confused-they couldn’t figure out that it was a regular hotel room and not a condo like we usually get. Some of the places we stayed are bigger than Buzz and my first house (prior to having kids). Trey & LeeAndra aren’t used to this and it’s amusing to me! LeeAndra keeps asking me how are we going to sleep in only 2 beds? Where are we going to watch t.v.? Where’s the bathroom? Where do we put our clothes? :confused3

I calm her down a little and get her oriented to where everything is, explain the sleeping arrangements: Buzz and me in one and her & Trey in the other bed. She promptly changes that. She and I in one bed and Daddy & Trey in the other. Ok, that’s fine. ;)

We unpack just enough to change into shorts. I put my contacts in but my right one is so painful I immediately take it out and re-clean it. I put it back in and Yowch! Not any better! I figure the last time I wore them, I must not have cleaned them very well. So I re-clean it about 5 times and it’s still not any better. I got 6 pairs a year and a half ago and I’m down to my 2nd to last pair. I have a severe astigmatism so my contacts are pricey and hard to get. :headache:

This is the first time I’ve ever had ones you only wear for a month and then throw away. Even though the doctor told me to chuck them after one month, even if I’ve only worn them once during that month, I just can’t bring myself to do it. I get rid of them when they hurt my eyes. I think it’s time for these ones. I did bring my last set with me, but the troops are eager to get out and we’re pretty hungry so I will throw them away and make the switch later. :headache:

We’re so excited and happily chatting on the way down. My eye is stinging like crazy and my contact feels gritty and gravelly, but I press on. It’s hard to give in to the discomfort because we definitely have Disney Fever. :earsboy:

From our previous trips to DLR, I don’t remember anything about Downtown Disney except Wetzel’s Pretzels, which we ate for lunch nearly everyday. I see it and get a warm fuzzy feeling. I’m just so happy to be there. We see a neat looking restaurant, called Catal, check the menu to make sure we can all eat the food and ask if they can seat us. They seat us right by an open window with a nice breeze blowing through it. Ahhhh. Buzz orders a beer for himself and a wine for me. This is vacation. We feel it. :lovestruc

We also feel that wind pick up and get stronger. Pretty soon it gets downright chilly so Buzz asks if they could close the window and they do. I notice outside there are cheerleaders everywhere. They must be having some sort of cheerleader meeting, I figure. I saw some with a huge trophy! Pretty neat! :cheer2:

I can’t tell you what we ate for lunch because I don’t remember. I think I had chicken. We were all so hungry, I think we would’ve eaten anything at that point. But this lunch was good-I remember that! We finished up and I informed Buzz my first priority was to get sunglasses. My Mickey ones broke about a month ago and I needed new ones.

The sun was bright and I was getting a slight headache. So we go to World of Disney and look at sunglasses. LeeAndra picks out a stunning pink pair. Trey grabs a Tinkerbell pair! I grab 2 pairs, try them on, Buzz tells me which ones look better so I chose those and we go check out. He hates shopping.

Trey grabbed ones that were too small for his head so I quickly rush him back to the sunglasses rack and frantically begin trying them on him. The kids ones were all too small for his melon and a line was starting to form behind us now so I yell to Buzz to just forget it-we’d get Trey some glasses later. He’d need an adult size and I didn’t want to hold up the line trying glasses on him. Plus, I could tell Buzz was impatient with me.

We head back to our hotel and walk around the grounds a bit, spy the swimming pool and decide to get our suits on and get in. So up we go to our "small" room to change and hit the pool!

First!

Sounds like you had a great first meal, even if you can't remember what you ate. :rotfl:

And I can understand the contact problem you were having. I have an astigmatism and wear the monthly contacts as well. I usually can stretch mine out to 2-3 months for each pair, but when they start hurting, it's time to throw them out. The last time I went to the eye doctor, they tried to get me to switch to a different brand, but they hurt my eyes too bad. Oh well, you gotta use what works for you!

Can't wait to hear about the mean lifeguards... popcorn::

Ugh. I hate stinging contacts.

 Too funny that the kids thought that part of the room was missing. :rotfl2:

I'm too much of a chicken to wear contacts and this post just made me even more so, those contacts sound painful. :scared:

Just curious-what do you call a trunk in your neck of the woods?

Butting in, but I think it's called a "boot"

That's true! He asked on the trip, "Where are my stretchy shorts?" I said, "I know where I'd like them to be!" (Like I'm in charge of the stretch shorts-sheeesh.) I'll try to post an up-close shot of the chart. I'll do some monkeying around with it.

That would be awesome, Linnie! Thanks in advance :goodvibes

Oops! I thought this was Jodi's TR as there were no pictures ... :rolleyes1

:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Sorry about your eye. Rob has astigmatism in one of his eyes and refuses to wear the glasses he's supposed to. I get mad as him squinching his eyes and nose every so often to see somewhat.

Mmmm ... Wetzel's Pretzels. I love the Bitz!

Was Trey upset he didn't get his Tinkerbell sunglasses? I know my kids would be mad if they picked out a pair and then I didn't get it for them.

Sounds like a good start to your vacay! That's hilarious that LG thought part of the room was missing :rotfl: I'm glad you were able to get the sunglasses, but poor MB :sad1: I hope the mean lifeguards didn't wreck your pool time! :headache:

Gud job woman. You nailed it.

You had rotated chicken and I had steak. We both had a second glass of wine (It's vacation). I switched from beer cuz I tasted yours and it was yummy.

We cheersed a couple times
10.gif
and let out large sighs of relief. We were on vacation! :)

You also forgot to mention we were all starving, it was only 11 am when we arrived in our room, and you started "nesting" like a pregnant crow. Had to have everything "just so" and put away. You couldn't rest until that was done. :headache:

LOL about LG. The kids asked us the same thing the first time we went to WDW, since we usually stay in timeshares.

Did trey end up getting sunglasses?

I hope your eye was OK! HHBG ended up getting awa from wearing contacts, and went back to glasses, but his eyes used to get really bad at night.

I hope LG is better to sleep with than my little girl!

“There’s something wrong with our room! It’s not all there! Where’s the rest of it???” :confused3
Hilarious :rotfl2: I feel sorry for her future DH though as she'll expect a big room everytime :rotfl2:

This is the first time I’ve ever had ones you only wear for a month and then throw away.
My DH wears his for longer then near a vacation he keeps a few old pairs and wears them whilst swimming or at the water parks so it doesn't matter if they get lost :thumbsup2

He’d need an adult size and I didn’t want to hold up the line trying glasses on him.
My DD has needed aldult glasses since she was about 8, big head :rotfl2: At least in DL they'd do cute adult ones, hope he found some :goodvibes

Next up: The first of our encounters with the Mean Lifeguards!!
Oooo popcorn::
