Price: $35.00

Can accommodate 4 adults or 2 adults with 3 children ages 9 and under.

Are there any deluxe rooms with king beds?

No the deluxe suites are designed to sleep 6 (+ one infant under the age of 3) if they had a King size bed in the room that would take it down to sleeping 4. (+ one infant under the age of 3)

You maybe able to book one of the adjoining rooms that has a king size bed but only the IPO could tell you for sure, it would be a request. The only rooms at the Wilderness Lodge that has a bookable King Size Bed are the Honeymoon Suites, these rooms sleep 2.

The 1 bedroom Villas next door at the Villas @ Wilderness Lodge have a King Size Bed in the Master bedroom, a pullout couch in the living room, plus more square footage, the 1-bedroom Villas sleep 4. (+ one infant under the age of 3)

I was wondering if anyone has stayed recently in a deluxe room? W ehave a room on hold with DU and we have 6 people going and we are wondering if this will be enough room. Four adults and 2 kids (13&3). Can anyone show me some pics of this if they have them also. Any help with this will be appreciated. First time staying at WL and very excited!!

Okay, we finally did it! We booked our very first holiday trip to WDW and are staying at WL. Does anyone know what the wildlife experience is? What other special things should we plan to do at WL while we are there. We are very excited about the holiday decorations and would appreciate any help for planning our trip.

I have stayed in the Deluxe Rooms (Jr. Suites) but not recently, we had 4 adults a 12 year old and a 2 year old during our last stay. As we were all family we didn't have any trouble with the rooms size. A standard room at the Lodge has 340 square feet, a Deluxe Room (Jr. Suite) has 500 square feet.

This was before they added Club Level to the room price, so by me booking the Deluxe room it save quite a bit of money over booking two rooms. Now we try and stay over at the Villas when we travel with extended family, or book two rooms.

For additional information please read the first page of this thread I have information in the 1st and 2nd post about the Deluxe rooms that should be helpful to you.

For photo's of the Deluxe Rooms just click on this link below it will take you to Deb's website over on allears.net.The photos you want will be half way down the page:

Not sure what the wildlife experience is. :confused3 Do you mean all the wildlife you would encounter at the Lodge, when staying at the Lodge you never know just what you'll see. We have seen rabbits, ducks, deer, armadillos, alligators, raccoons and lizards.

On page one of this thread I have loads of information posted about the activities available while staying at the Lodge that will help with your planning, please go back and read that information. I also have some activities that are available over at the Ft. Wilderness Campground that you may also enjoy, this information is located on the 5th post but still on page 1.

Also the Wilderness Lodge Holiday Sleigh Rides that we talked about a few post before your post is a major holiday event that many guest visiting WDW during December enjoy.

Wondering if any of you vets could answer this. We are wanting to stay 10/8 - 10/11 in a woods bunk. If I look for those dates it does not come up but if I add one day it comes up. Question is if I go ahead and book the 7th - 11th can I cancel the first day say in a week or something? This seems silly that it is available one way but not the other.:confused3

Yes , ::yes:: I have had to do this before I just called CRO the next day and changed my arrival date.

Beckie - Thanks will do that right now as to not loose the opportunity. We have a two year old who will need the bottom bunk with rails. She just thinks a queen size bed is a jumping arena.

I am also sure I have read that if I book now and FL Resident discounts or Disney Visa discounts come out there is no problems applying these to them down the road?

You guys are awesome!

I try to book as soon as I know my dates then when/if the discounts become available I call to have either the AP or Florida Resident rate applied.

Do they do any "Fall" decorating during October time frame at the Lodge?
The Mercantile usually has nice displays during the seasons, but really other than Christmas there aren't any additional decorations during the year.

Beckie -

Picking your brain today. Do the seasonal FL Resident get to take AP Holder discounts?

Yes, ::yes:: the Seasonal Pass is an Annual Pass (with blackout dates) so if you have seasonal passes you could use either the AP rate or the Florida Resident rate. Until a few years ago the Floridia resident rates were about $5.00 less than the AP rate now they seem to be about $5.00 more than the AP rate. :confused3

I first try for the AP then if they don't have any rooms available with that discount I use the Florida resident discount.

Sorry for the confusion...I just looked online and it is called Wildlife Discovery Excursion at Disney's Animal Kingdom. Have you heard of it?

The holiday sleigh ride sounds wonderful!! Do I book it now, before we arrive or is it something that must be booked when we are at WL?

Thanks for your suggestions about reading the previous posts...I read page 1 and will continue until I am all caught up.

Yes the Wildlife Discovery Excursion is offered to all guest staying Club Level, though it's possible that any guest may book. :confused3

Wildlife Discovery Excursion: An animal expert is your guide for a safari ride onto the Harambe Wildlife Reserve. You'll visit special observation and photo ops exclusive to this tour. This can be booked 90 days in advance and must be booked through the Animal Kingdom Lodge Resort Itinerary Planning Office at 407-938-4755

For the Sleigh ride you will need to book it in advance when the reservations become available. If you're staying Club Level the IPO may be able to make your reservations.

Hi all! I am back from our stay at the Lodge and it was everything I was hoping it would be!!!

We were in room 2153, which was on the "main" floor, south wing, inner courtyard right in front of the pool. While I wish I was higher up we were happy with it. We had a bunk bed room that was perfect and our room did connect with my in-law's room. The highlight of the stay was our Mousekeeper, Sally, either left us towel animals or did cute little things with DD's stuffed animals. I have a lot of picures of those that I will share later.

Transportation: We actually found the wait time for the boat to be better than the bus. We also enjoyed the boat ride better so we just started doing that. We had good bus service to the other parks most of the trip, with the exception towards the end of our trip. It was starting to get busier at the World so we had longer waits for the bus. We casually mentioned it one night to our bus driver about it and received a free fast pass for having to wait so long. That was a nice surprise!

We of course enjoyed our dinner at WCC. This was our second time there and it was just as good. RF was also nice and quick.

The Lodge has spoiled us now and I am not sure I can do anything but deluxe now. It will be hard to try another resort now, too!

Hi! We're a family of six, 2 adults and 4 children and we've booked a deluxe room at WL Jan 1-7, 2009. It's our first trip to WDW ever. :cool1:

I have 2 questions:

When do they take the Christmas decorations down? Do you think they'll still be up when we're there?

We were thinking of putting the kids into Cubs Den our last night there so we can have an adults only dinner at Artist Point. I read somewhere that they can stay there for four hours and dinner is included at $11 an hour. Can the kids stay for two hours only?

TIA! :)
