what time do the monorails start running? and do the buses start running a 7even if the park doesn't open til 9?

Hi guys, I'm heading back to the WL to turn 50 this march and I have a quick question. Are there laundry facilities at the WL? I wasn't sure whether I would be taking 4 pairs of jeans and doing laundry or 8 pairs of jeans. I can pack extra shirts but those jeans start weighing a ton.

They do have a laundry. I believe they said it is in the north wing. We always do laundry on our off day. You are right, those clothes really start to weigh you down and take up space trying to pack enough for 8-9 days.

Laundry faculities are down by Roaring Forks.

We plan on doing a load of wash also we are staying in a studio villa. Trying to pack light this time. Have to keep this to one suitcase each :rolleyes1

For the same price? If it's not going to cost anymore I would do it in a heartbeat! There's breakfast every morning w/o the lines! We just came back from a club level stay and loved it. Our view wasn't great but we did see wishes every night from our balcony! There's also enough at night to fill you up for dinner. There's a hot dish that changes and then there's veggies and cheese. Let's not forget the evening cordials, wine, hot dessert and snacks! If it's costing more and you don't think you'll use it enough to get your monies worth then that's a different story~

Okay, I just booked our holiday trip in December at WL. We had a choice between courtyard view bunk bed and standard club level. Which one would you have chosen. We have only stayed club level once when we received an upgrade, but it was really nice to be able to get a cup of tea or a snack. I'm sure someone here has stayed both and can help me out. I booked the bunkbed room, but the club level is still available. :confused3

I just got off the phone with the nicest CM (Tasmine). I was trying to change my room from at courtyard view bunkbed, to just a courtyard view. She suggested going over to the Villas. This will be our first stay at WL (my dh and I are celebrating 25!). Would it be wiser to move to the Villas or stay with my courtyard view bunkbeds?:confused3

Thanks!

Honestly, this depends on what you want. I think what the CM was suggesting, being it is your 25th Anniversary!!, that you reserve a 1 bedroom villa. They come with a king bed and a really nice jacuzzi!! I'm not sure of the price increase though.

If you want to go that route that would be great. My DH and I stayed in a 1 bedroom villa for our honeymoon and it was simply wonderful!!

But, if you are worried about the courtyard bunkbed, I wouldn't worry. The room is not bad, it is just like a regular courtyard view but instead of two queens, it has one queen and a bunk (but you probably know that). You also are paying a little more for the bunk.

Now, if you want a courtyard view, keep trying!! I have done this before, we had a code and could only get bunks, I kept trying every couple of days, and a regular courtyard view opened up.

Hope this helps.

What time do the monorails start running? and do the buses start running a 7even if the park doesn't open til 9?
The Resort Monorails start running at 7:00am most days (it has been known to start at 6:30am)

Character Breakfasts Service will begin ½ hour before the earliest seating. The marquee on the bus will read "Character Breakfast." It should be noted that guests should verify with the driver which park the bus is going to for the character breakfast because there are different ones for different parks. They have the flexibility to allow direct transportation to the theme parks, and area resorts.

If you want to arrive early to any park you could catch a Character Breakfast bus going to the Park but unless you have a ADR or other scheduled event you will have to wait until the Park opens to gain access.

Magic Kingdom: Disney Bus service begins approximately 1 hour prior to the park opening time listed for that day. If it's EMH the time will adjust to 1 hour before also.

Epcot: Disney Bus service begins approximately 1 hour prior to the park opening time listed for that day.

Disney's Hollywood Studios: Disney Bus service begins approximately 1 hour prior to the park opening time listed for that day.

Animal Kingdom: Disney Bus service begins approximately 1 hour prior to the park opening time listed for that day.

Downtown Disney Pleasure Island/West Side: DTD buses start running at approximately 8:30am. This is a combined bus stop located at Downtown Disney/Pleasure Island. The bus driver will announce the latest bus return time.

Downtown Disney Marketplace: DTD buses start running at 8:30am. The bus driver will announce the latest bus return time.

Typhoon Lagoon: Bus service will begin 1 hour prior to the park opening time listed for that day.

Blizzard Beach: Bus service will begin 1 hour prior to the park opening time listed for that day.

Please take note that all times are subject to change. If you have questions regarding transportation within WDW you should contact Guest Services for additional information.

8 of us, ladies, are planning a weekend trip in October and I was thinking about a deluxe room with an adjoining room with 2 queen beds. What do you guys think?

Sending you lots of pixie dust, in hopes that you can get a ressie at the WL!!pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust:pixiedust:

I just changed our ressie on the 10th fromt he Poly to the WL. I am so excited that I was able to get it, that every time I talk to my DH I tell him "that I am just so excited that we will be staying at the WL at Christmas time." I've said it so many time since I made the change that when my DH called me on his lunch break he said, "hello hun, and yes I know you are really excited about staying at the WL at Christmas time."

Sending Pixie Dust, remember many reservations are canceled when that 45 day cutoff comes up so do keep trying. Do the math back from your dates then check every morning at 7:00am.

Terry36

Sounds like a GREAT TRIP, maybe we should warn the concierge staff before your arrival. Don't forget the Villas a two bedroom villa would also be wonderful. You would have more room, plus a full kitchen and washer/dryer.

Have a Magical Trip

 Have read all through this thread, but am hoping a veteran WL guest might be able to help.

We are holding a WL courtyard view, but due to MS we need some special requests - I can do this through Disney's special needs, but it would help to know as much as possible about room locations for one special need.

What is very important is a room with a lot of light - so no trees blocking. We'll need an upper floor with no privacy balcony (due to a eye issue caused by the MS). I can see in some photos that lots of rooms might fit this quite well, but not sure how the light actually reflects - one side of the courtyard may be better than the other for the most light.

Please make any suggestions you think may be helpful, then I will call Special needs - they are wonderful!

Thank you so much!
(p.s. We know the rooms are dark and some think it is crazy to even stay at this reosrt, but I'd so like to try)

Minnie&Nana

I would suggest you request Inner Courtyard 4th or 5th floor (6th floor balconies are enclosed) toward the end of the South Wing.

I believe that the south side of the Lodge has less trees, and toward the end of the building so the afternoon shade from the main section of the building doesn't cover your balcony. The Courtyard View overlooking the Villas South Wing toward the end would also be a good request because the balconies shouldn't receive any shadows from the main building either.

I posted a link to a map of the Lodge just click on the link below the rooms would be the odd # room 4149-4165, 5149-5165 Inner Courtyard. Then the even # rooms 4140-4164, 5140-5164 over looking the Villas.

Beckie

PS: If any one else has any suggestions please be sure to post them.

Wilderness Lodge Room #'s and Locations

Thanks so much, Beckie! This is very helpful! :flower3:

P.S. Beckie, can the EWP be seen from the Bear Face rooms? My friend is hoping for one of these rooms next Fall, but was not sure that EWP can be seen from there...of course, who knows if she'll get one of those rooms, but she can hope!! :)

The Bear Face rooms to the left side of the lodge maybe able to see all the EWP but serveral rooms also have trees that would block the view. The rooms on the right would only be able to see part of the parade. :confused3 The best viewing is from the beach, it only takes a few minutes to walk out.
