OH, MAH, GAWD I wish I was at the lodge right now. I just woke up, and IT'S FRIGGEN SNOWING! IN JUNE! I thought we were done with it when it got done snowing in the second half of april... but nooooOOOOOOOoooooo.
Where is global warming when you really need it?

I'm in Pullman, WA

Hokey smokes, Bullwinkle! Snow ought to be outlawed in June (in the northern hemisphere, anyway!).

Just keep imagining yourself at the Lodge. It helps.

Have you tried clicking your heels and saying, "There's no place like Home?"

Bullwinkle...that is just horrible. (I hate snow....truly hate it)
I truly hope it improves....here is some weather :pixiedust: dust...:goodvibes

We leave for the world in 24 hours...boy am I excited here...!

I have to work one more shift all night tonight and then that's it for 13 days...yiiiiiippppeeeeee..

I will take LOTS of photos...

Global warming is over here on the East Coast where it is currently 101 degrees F. My DH is in Alaska right now and he said there was a storm that delayed his flight into Seattle. They delayed his landing and eventually he had to land in Utah:scared1: . I'd rather have snow right about now. 101 actual degrees with high humidity means that the heat index is near 110!! :faint:

Just got back from our first Disneyworld trip and we absolutely loved WL. Just wanted to tell everyone that we stayed in a woods view room on the first floor on the left wing. My daughter was outside looking at the pond and comes in and tells me there is an alligator in it.:scared1: I thought she was crazy until I saw it myself. It was a baby about 3 to 4 feet long. We told the front desk and they could not believe it. If you are staying soon, maybe you can check it out. Robin

WOW! Catfish in the pool and alligators in the pond! You can't get more "wilderness" than that!?:rotfl:

I will be heading to WL with DH for the first time in Sept! Our first trip to the World minus the kids!

Is this considered "the" thread for WL? I want to learn as much as I can before I go. :wizard:

Catfish and alligators!!?!?!? We arrive on Saturday and I am SO not nature girl, I am hoping I get to miss these wonderful creatures.

The snow started sticking before I even went to class, and we got at least 2" before it started getting warmer. A lot of deciduous trees on campus started having moderate sized branches break off because of the added weight of all the snow caught on the leaves... there's a reason they lose the leaves in the fall.

I call it Juneuary

the alligators are there because there's ducks to feed on.
if you want to make a lifelong friend, give frosted flakes to a duck on your ground floor patio along the side that faces the pond... they'll come back the next day with a friend tapping at the glass. (I have pics to prove this)

Yikes! :scared1: I hope they plan on relocating it!

I think it's one of the best threads here on the DIS, be sure to read the first page it has loads of information about the lodge and all the activities available.

Hello, me again! Could someone let me know what time the earliest morning bus leaves for dining reservations? Thank you very much. :goodvibes

Does anyone know how/if I can order one of the WL Totem Poles that they have in the Mercantile. We meant to get one last trip and time just got away from us. We probably won't be going back until next summer and I really would like to get one for the mantle to keep me company until then!

I have a BBB appointment for 8:00AM in MK. What is the best way to get there from WL. My DD and I will be leaving at 7:00AM to get there on time.

If you're at the bus stop by 7:00am or even a little later you shouldn't have any trouble arriving in time for your appointment. The buses start running around 7:00am.

You could also catch the Blue Flag Resort Boat over to the Contemporary Resort then either catch the resort monorail around to the Magic Kingdom or just walk from the CR to the Magic Kingdom. The bus is the easiest.

I will be calling in the morning to change our ressie's from the Poly to the WL. I only made the ressie at the Poly b/c my DH said that I could have a MK view room. True the view may be nice, but it's just not the WL. Anyway, the only thing available for our dates at the WL are the courtyard view rooms. My DH's question is, does anyone have any suggestions on good room locations. He would love something not too far from the busses, but then not too far from the boats. Personally, as long as it's at the WL, I'm happy. Thanks in advance for any help answering DH's question.
I just have to say it to someone that won't look at me like I should be taken away by men who will give me a new white coat that straps up in the back and will take me and put me in a padded room.
WOOO HOOO!!! I'M GOING TO THE WL AT CHRISTMAS TIME!!! :dance3:

:rotfl2: The busses are one side of the lodge and the boats are on the other.

Guess a courtyard view with easy access to the lobby would put you in the middle. :)

To me it makes more sense to be closer to the bus then the boats if that matters to you unless you are going to spend most of your time at MK. Requesting off the lobby or not too far down the south wing would work best.

We will be spending most of our time at the MK and EPCOT. When we stay at the WL and go to EPCOT my DH and DS's like to take the boat to the CR and then get on the monorail.
We will probably use the boat and buses each about half. When we stayed at the WL the last time, we had a woodview room, on the side with the otter pond all the way at the end closest to the boat launch. It was great for getting on the boats, but the DH thought it was too long of a walk to the buses. I think he wanted something in the middle so we could pick which mode of transportation we took based on our mood not which was closer. As for me, I'm just happy that I was able to change our ressie to the WL this late in the year.

Maybe it's just because I'm in college and walking the mile and a half home when I miss the bus is worth it to not have to wait 20 minutes for the next one to show up because I can be home by then, but I don't think proximity to either is a problem, the lodge really isn't that big, having a little less to walk isn't going to save you much time. The biggest difference you'll find is that if you stay on ground level you don't have to go find the stairs or elevator, which makes it quicker.
Our last trip we ended up with a woods view on the ground floor near the pond, and we had a REALLY short walk to the boats, but walking up past RCC to the lobby and out the side was pretty fast too.
Besides, I enjoy walking through it.

Okay, I just booked our holiday trip in December at WL. We had a choice between courtyard view bunk bed and standard club level. Which one would you have chosen. We have only stayed club level once when we received an upgrade, but it was really nice to be able to get a cup of tea or a snack. I'm sure someone here has stayed both and can help me out. I booked the bunkbed room, but the club level is still available. :confused3

Thanks Beckie! I think Gabby and I will wait for the 7:00AM bus. We can't wait!
