...hey, Beckster, where is the more 'chatty' WL thread?? It seems that the Mods closed our other one, "Humphrey's Home"
Kimmar
Around the first of February the DIS started closing all the large threads over 250 pages because it was taking so long to access the DIS. I was so busy trying to save all the information of this thread I didn't think about Humphrey's Home until it was too late. :confused3

Other DIS members over on the CB seemed to think Humphrey's Home was a click (like so many are over there) that without FloridaCat I didn't feel right about restarting it. :confused3

Started reading your trip report knowing I shouldn't because you haven't finished it yet. So get started typing Lady.

...I know that's what happened - with FloridaCat's passing, you'd THINK that they would have kept THAT one open....

...well, that's THEIR problem - unlike many of the other 'click-y' threads, ours was NEVER 'snarky'....

That's a shame that they deleted it.

Beckie, I was actually looking for Humphrey's Home a few weeks ago when we were talking about the Poly. I was going to move the talk we were having off this thread over to HH since we were way off topic :)

Well I guess since I don't venture to the cb unless I am linked there by someone I know I never saw this thread. But did they delete it? I thought they were just locking them and were archiving them somewhere. :confused3 Sounds like something I need to read.

Well, today I called CRO..thankful i did...there is a 40% code attched to my HH..since when?:confused3

Anyway...$155/night before tax...courtyard view! both of my nights available....

:yay: :yay: That's awesome!! That must be what we are paying too, we have a 40% off code, Courtyard room. I didn't even bother to calculate or anything, just booked it! :) So, it's official then? WL for you?

Brookelizabeth...where are you????:rotfl:

Me too! I would love to read it! I love my chatty AKL peeps, I'm sure I'd love a chatty WL thread too.

Thanks for letting us know, I just found out this afternoon I'll be making a trip down to Orlando next month (Quick trip for 4 days) so I'm going to save shipping cost, by visiting the mercantile. :woohoo:

Thank you once again,
Beckie

Beckie, what a way to find out YOU are going to Disney WITHOUT me!! :scared1:

I'm ALWAYS the LAST one to know. ;)

...Hiedy-ho, Jeanne!!

It seems like some of my a-HEM, 'AKL buds' have defected and joined ranks in these here parts (and YOU know who you are! ;) ) I really wish that the Humphery's Home thread would be re-opened.....BTW ~ I DO have a current 'trippie' out there....:rolleyes1

...but HEY, what can I say?? I only 'hang out' with the NICEST peeps....

OK, here's the deal .... I'm doing a solo trip next May (going with friends in December but just need some time chilling and doing what i want to do), I normally stay around the Epcot area as I love walking into Epcot but for years I've been thinking of staying at WL, have visited a few times and it just seems so 'welcoming'.

I intend visting all the parks (but not spending all day in them), as well as lounging round the pool, and shopping off site.

I know most resorts have their pros and cons, but the thing that concerns me a little is the transport situation, particularly the buses to Epcot, AK and HS.

Can anyone reassure me please? I really, really, really want to try WL but I still have a little niggle.

Also, please be honest, do you think I might feel a little out of place on my own here?

...honest opinion?? Of course, the 'oldies' know how I feel 'bout the WL, but, if you were doin' a solo trip and you REALLY want to just 'get away from it all', then WL IS the place for you..however, since you obviously enjoy strolling the BW at night, I'd stay at the BW-BC/YC area, since there IS alot more to do, as far a being able to walk everywere...JMHO....

Most WL Vets can tell you that I usually travel with 8-12 family members when I visit Wilderness Lodge. They can also tell you I have had to change reservations move dates and squeeze extra last minute family members into every available space.

A few years ago I ended up with one of my sisters (I have six) that wasn't able to arrive until two days after she had planned, past the date I could change the arrival date so I decided on a two day solo trip by myself. All I can say is I had one of my best trips, I felt very safe at the Lodge and just did what I enjoyed doing. I never felt out of place even though I was worried about eating alone, I went and even made several ADR's. I loved every minute of my alone time.

Since you just want to chill don't worry about the transportation not that you would have to, I loved walking to the bus stop and catching whichever bus arrived first.

...::yes:: !!!

Thanks guys, I'm think the perfect solution might be a split stay, some time at WL followed by some time in the Epcot area :goodvibes

...sounds like a good plan to ME.....:thumbsup2

I can relate to the fun of being able to leisurely stoll along the BW - we stayed at the Dolphin this past Christmas and it was awesome....not to mention that that was so much to do there....

I too love the Boardwalk area so much that I purchased DVC at the Villas there. During food & wine it's the best area to stay but my first love will always be Wilderness Lodge.

Ooooh, that is a tough decision! I would probably end up doing the whole thing at WL-just for ease....and a balcony. (I'm a balcony snob! ;) )

Solo....ahhhhhhhhhhhhh! That would be so nice!
