Hi- I'm trying to plan some breakfast ADRs and was wondering how long it should take by car to get from WL to AK. Also, is this the best forum to ask this kind of question? I'm not sure if another may be set up for just this type of question.

My family & I are taking our first trip in Sept & we're staying at the villas at wilderness lodge...is there any place to view the fireworks that are going on at the magic kingdom from wl? We have a 6 yr old & a 2 yr old so they will probably be pretty tired after going to the parks all day. Does the wl do any fireworks of their own? Is there anything we must see at the lodge while we're there or anything we must do at the lodge while we're there? Any activity suggestions would be appreciated.

There is the Transportation Board here on the DIS, as long as you don't take a wrong turn you should be able to drive from the Wilderness Lodge to Animal Kingdom Lodge in 15 minutes or less. (actual driving time)

Some guest have said they could see the higher fireworks from the beach area of the Lodge, the Villas really doesn't have an area that you can see them from because the Lodge is between the Villas & Magic Kingdom. :confused3

You will be able to view the EWP from the beach, The Electrical Water Pageant is nightly at 9:35p.m. on Bay Lake. (Note: May be canceled due to inclement weather.) You'll be treated to the delightful Electric Water Pageant which makes its way across Bay Lake nightly. This whimsical light and music show will entertain you and your family for about 10 minutes. It's worth seeing at least once!

You need to read Page 1 of this thread for information on activities for your family.

Does anyone have any pictures of the sleigh ride at WL?

Hi folks! I have a few questions about the WL as we might have to change our plans and stay here instead of the Poly.

First let me say that back in '06 we visited the WL and was absolutely amazed by it. The main reasons we chose the Poly over the WL for our stay in May (Ha! That rhymed! ) is that we have two little DD's, one age 7 the other will just turn 1 right before we get there. We thought the beaches, pool and theming would suit them best at the Poly. Also being able to use the monorail was an added bonus. However, many things have popped up that have taken a drain on out vacation funds. Things like car going bye-bye (it had almost 200,000 miles on it, so I can't complain) so we had to get a new one, medical bills and things around the house going BOOM! Anyway, the WL saves us money yet still seems like a good compromise over down-grading to POR. Not that there is anything wrong with POR, been there several times, it's just that we would like a change. Enough babbling, on with the questions....

Is there somewhere in WL where we can watch Wishes? I know at the Poly you can stand on the beach and see it. We thought this would be nice with the little one. I already know we can see the water parade so that's a nice bonus, but being able to see wishes would be wonderful as well.

What about the beach at WL? Is it nice enough to let the kids play on it? I only ask this because from some pictures the beach at WL looked a little more rough than those at the Poly. We figure that if we spend a decent time at the resort, a beach to play on would be nice.

How much is there to do for kids? The Mrs and I will be more than content to just hang around the resort and relax. However, even though our DD7 is unbelievably well behaved (sometimes better than we are :lmao: ), I'm sure she would like more to do than the pool.

Speaking of the pool, can guests at the WL use the quiet pool over at the villas?

How early does the boat to the MK start? We have an appointment for BBB in the MK at 8:15 followed by CRT at 10:10. Can we make this using the boat?

What is WCC like, really? We are a fun loving group, but also don't want all that fun thrown in our face. I like the menu here, just a little worried it might be too much for my wife and DD's.

That's it for now. Sorry if some of these questions have been anwsered in the past, but I've read so many posts recently that it's all becoming a blur.

Besides the 2 restaurants, is there like a quick cafe to grab something quick to eat???? Do they have a refill mug station like the moderates?

Yup. It's called Roaring Fork. And yes, it has a refillable mug station. It offers normal snacks and grab-and-go items (try the ham and cheddar sandwich, it's great!). :thumbsup2

Anybody know when you can book the sleigh ride?

Last year the reservations opened up on September 20, 2007 so around 90 days before the scheduled dates. I will try and post when they start taking reservations here on the FAQ Thread.

Most all your questions are answered on page 1 here on the FAQ Thread.

As far as the fireworks the best locations at the Wilderness Lodge to view them from would be the North Wing on the 5th or 6th floor. What type of room do you have booked as some Standard & Wood View rooms offer possable views from your balcony.

The beaches at the Lodge are nice, just not as large as the beach area over at the Poly.

Guest may use either one of the pools while staying at the Lodge.

Childrens activities are listed on page 1.

Jumping in to say hello. Our family will be staying in a WL deluxe room this coming September. We are big AKL fans...so this is a venture outside of our known comfort zone, but I have heard really good things about WL and want to give it a try.

If anyone has any personal feedback on what the club level is like at WL I would love to hear it!

Thank you all for putting together this very informative thread. :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

We originally had ressies for Thanksgiving at the Poly (regular rate):scared1: But I called to see about changing our dates to Dec. 6-14 &asked about any codes. I was told that there was one (not sure if it was 40% or what) for WL but I could only do 12/7 - 12/13 and asked about adding 12/6 but she said I couldn't do that and get dining or the discount.:confused3 She said I could add 12/13 but could not have dining. I am really confused. Couldn't I do a room only for 12/6 or would that not allow us to use or park tickets until the next day?

Does this make sense to anyone? The price I was given for 12/7-12/13 for 2 adults, 1 child (5), 1 (child under 3), 6 days w/PH and regular dining was $2800. Is this a good price? We were really wanting to stay for 7 days, preferably on the front end.

Thanks for any advice!!
