I have booked 2 connecting rooms, woods view. Does anyone know which room numbers have connecting rooms, or are they too numerous to list?

Gila

Because the Lodge is a very Family Friendly Resort they do have quite a few connecting rooms that are located through out the Lodge.

I have never seen any list of rooms that are connecting. I have stayed in many that where connecting with a Woods View.

With a Standard View Room the locations are overlooking rooftops or overlooking the service area. :confused3

Of the two areas that the Standard Views are located I would request 5th floor North Wing because of the possible view of the Magic Kingdom and fireworks at night, if the inclosed balconies don't bother you the 6th floor would be futher away from any noise that might come from the service area.

I have stayed in this area many times and unless I am out on the balcony during the day, I have never heard any noise.

Upgrades are always a possibility but I never expect them.

Beckie

Thanks for the info...we never expect any kind of up grade either. My one ? to you...if we request 5th floor north wing are these balconies that have chairs...I don't think I could do dormers...I would feel too closed in & being aboove the 2nd floor...I don't know!!!! Thanks!

This will be our first WL stay and I was going to book a standard room and possibly upgrade when we get there. My concern is We will have our 22month old DS with us and after reading thru threads I have heard the standard rooms can be very loud until around 10pm or so. Is this true?

Should I wait to upgrade?
Does anyone have pics of the quick service? I did a search and nothing.
Hmmm... Anything I should know traveling with a teenager and a 22month old?

I just have to say-
THANK YOU to Magicinmyheart (Beckie) for being such a HUGE help and a wealth of information on this thread!!! Your responses to my questions and other people's questions are great! It is so hard and overwhelming to plan a first trip to Disney World so all the help is so appreciated!!
Thanks Beckie and everyone else on here! You guys rock!! :-) ;)

All the balconies and patios have two chairs and a small table for guest.

Acutally I made a mistake the 6th floor for the Standard View rooms don't have the dormers they would be open balconies. The dormers start futher down the 6th floor and only apply to the Woods and Courtyard Views on that floor. So the 6th floor North Wing would be a better request.

Sorry my mistake.

I always try and book standard view the price is great, I have also asked if there are any upgrades available and the cost when I have checked in. If the price is good I'll upgrade and sometimes they tell me I have already been upgraded (No Charge)

The only Standard View Rooms that may have noise would be the 9 rooms that are off the Main Lobby located above the check-in desk. These rooms have had guest staying in them that reported hearing the shenanigans coming from Whispering Canyon Cafe during dinner. The Lobby is so large that the noise bounces off the walls. I have stayed on the 4th floor (Bear Face Rooms) and once the door to my room was closed I never heard any noise coming from the Lobby. Guest have reported hearing noise so perhaps these roooms being directly across from the Cafe is the reason.

The 39 Standard View Rooms that are located in the North Wing floors 4, 5 and 6 do over look the service area and yes ::yes:: at different times during the day delivery trucks arrive, the only noise I have heard from these trucks would be the beeping sound they make when they are backing the truck up...thats it nothing else. :confused3 With the door going out to the balcony closed this noise isn't loud enough to be heard from inside the room.

When traveling with a teenager at Disney my best advice is give them their freedom, let them explore by themselves. I have had charging previleges added to their room key with guide lines as to how much they may spend. This way they can get a snack or drink without having to ask every time. The last few trips I have purchased the Disney Gift Cards to give for spending these work even better.

For the 22 month old always have a snack available...my group loved goldfish or cheerios, and a small toy you can pull out while waiting in line or food.

I'll look and see if I have any photos of Roaring Fork.

The following information is from my post on the first page, there is additional information located there.

COURTYARD VIEWS:
Courtyard view rooms can be located off the lobby, down the south and north corridors they face the falls/pool. Some Courtyard View rooms may also face south, overlooking the Villas. These rooms are located on all floors.

All Courtyard Views aren't the same, to receive the view most guest want when paying for a Courtyard View you need to add Inner Courtyard View to your reservation. If you want the view of Silver Creek Springs Pool, Silver Creek, the waterfall, the geyser and Bay Lake, be sure to add this to your request.

Inner Courtyard Views: (Northside)
Many guests enjoy the Inner North Wing for a great view of the Bay Lake or the Electrical Water Pageant if room is located on one of the higher floors. They are further away from the pool so they would be a little quieter with less pool noise.

Inner Courtyard Views: (Southside)
The rooms in the South Wing are closer to the Silver Creek Pool so I feel the views of the pool are better from the South Wing. The higher floors on the Inner South Wings also have obstructed and very limited views of the higher fireworks from the Magic Kingdom. The Courtyard View rooms toward the end of the wing would be the best location to see them.

Courtyard View Overlooking the Villas:
There are Courtyard View rooms located in the south wing that face south and have a view of the Villas and the smaller Hidden Springs Pool. The rooms also have a view of the forest between the Lodge and Ft. Wilderness Campground. I have enjoyed watching the local wildlife visit the edges of the woods during my visits. These rooms are some of the quietest rooms so would be great for light sleepers.

Inner Courtyard Views off Lobby:
Last but not lest are the Courtyard View rooms that are off the main Lobby, they are centered in the middle of the inner courtyard and they overlook the entire courtyard area from the balcony with the beautiful Lobby just outside the front door. Can you tell I love and request these rooms when I book Courtyard View? They are located on the 4th, & 5th floor.

We have booked a Courtyard View for Jan 2009. This is my first time to stay at WL and we are very excited.

From what i can tell by your post the Inner Courtyard Views off Lobby are your preferred choice. Can I please ask are these rooms noisy as they are off the Lobby? Can I specify this as a request if i call back?

Thank you:goodvibes

No I have never found any of these rooms noisy, even with activities going on in the Lobby, once that door is closed I didn't hear anything.

To request this area have: Inner Courtyard room off the Main Lobby 4th or 5th Floor, added to your reservations.

Beckie

Thank You Beckie

My Dsis (14) will have charging priv. I would be too afraid just in case not to let her have them and we will have the DP so she can use her snack credits however she wants.

Thank you for your advice I will try to upgrade when we get there if the price isn't so bad. :thumbsup2

Thanks Beckie- are they really that much better? :goodvibes I would think it would be a wonderful view plu s the greatness of looking out over the lobby everytime you left your room.
So why are they your favorite?

We are flying so I won't get to pack as much as I would like.
I was even thinking of shipping down some breakfest foods and bottled water.
Is that crazy?

To share another experience - and I am not alone in reporting this - we find that area very noisy with the beeping of trucks backing into the loading dock in the early a.m. and during afternoon naps. We weren't even staying in standard view but, instead, in one of the first woodsview rooms with the loading dock visible if I peered off to the left. If your noise tolerance is low, it may bother you.

That said, it doesn't prevent me from requesting North Wing since it has the best woodsview rooms available ... I consider it a tradeoff worth making.

So why are they your favorite?

The views and the location.
