I'm sitting in the food court at Pop Century at the moment, about to start day 4 of 13 free days in the parks. Who knew that having kids or, more specifically, kids that work at Epcot, could be so financially lucrative. The vacation is going well, although I've developed a severe facial tick which manifests itself every time
The Chipmunk Song is played over the speakers.
Thanks for responding to the anti-Canada poster, although I've learned that supporters of That Man are incapable of understanding why us Canadians are reacting negatively to That Man's threat of destroying the Canadian economy, unless we accept his offer of throwing away our Canadian citizenship and gratefully becoming citizens of the increasingly misnamed "land of the free".
I want to make a few comments about the now deleted post which you quote.
Supporters of That Man claim that his election victory was a
"landslide". He couldn't even manage to get 50% of the vote. Some landslide.
That Man's supporters also claim that since he was
democratically elected, every one of his commands is moral. Right. In WW2, since Hitler was elected by a landslide, Hitler had morality on his side when he ordered a genocide against the Jews. That Man won in a landslide, therefore he would be morally in the right if he orders a genocide against the Panamanian people, if they refuse to give That Man ownership of the Panama Canal. And so on...
The people of the United States have taken a
giant leap backwards in morality by, for example, discarding the Geneva convention and supporting the US military when they commit war crimes (for example, murdering the people who were clinging to the destroyed boat off the coast of Venezuela).
It takes only a tiny step to go from murdering helpless and defenceless people clinging to a boat, to murdering children because they are guilty of the "crime" of being Jewish, of having Canadian citizenship, or having the wrong skin colour. Sadly, that is the direction the US is heading in.
My daughter is working at the Canadian pavilion until August, so we will certainly be taking advantage of 16 free park days in 2026 at Disney World, and possibly some free days at
Disneyland. But I'm becoming more and more certain that our 2026 vacation may be the last time I visit a US Disney park.
Incidentally, the Canadian boycott is a success on many levels. For example, Jim Beam is shutting down production at their main distillery because they are up to their armpits in unsold bourbon. It appears that That Man insulting the US's largest trading partner was a bad idea.
