I have a container with wrapping paper, bags, tissue, ribbon and bows. I should probably get rid of it since I very very rarely give gifts anymore and it is just taking up space in the closet

I love to wrap presents. I love to shop for presents. And if I'm spending that much time trying to find the perfect gift, I want to be wrapped perfectly. Not just thrown into a bag with some tissue paper and a bow. Just something about sitting in the floor with a couple of rolls of wrapping paper, Christmas music going in the background and a bag full of gifts that need to be wrapped. I love it.

Also, we do have a plastic tub of boxes and tissue and another full of Christmas bags, some we've bought and many we've gotten over the years. We also have a tall box of gift wrap rolls. DW spent some time last night going through the 2 tubs and cleaning them out, throwing out some paper/boxes/bags we haven't used in years. But we've got probably 10 tubs of Christmas decorations, gift wrap, boxes and bags. It's our favorite time of year.

I would say 90% paper and 10% bags. I tend to use a bag for something that is oddly shaped and I don’t have a box, for pet gifts (dogs can reach right in), or to put wrapped gifts that go together so they are opened together.

I can't wrap to save my life. The only people we buy gifts for, are our two adult kids. They get the same gift bags year after year LOL, I I always tell them I am saving the environment LOL. My dd is very big on recycling and less packaging, so it works.

I just went through one of our plastic boxes and cleaned out. I Didn't know I had that many Christmas gift bags!!
That box has bags, tissue and tags. And it is full.
Another has ribbon and bows.....need t clean that out too. And another for the big rolls of ribbon and all the little decorative things I like to tie on.
Gift wrap also in a tall container and it is full too, I need to pay attention to what I buy on Friday
:rotfl:
6 boxes of ornaments....they don't even all fit on the tree.
7 or 8 0f other decorations and then the rugs that lay in top. Drawers in the house full of kitchen towels, pot holders, bath towels, table clothes, place mats and then there is my collection of candles and accessories.

my household has made it clear that they prefer to unwrap gifts so the majority are wrapped-i will use a gift bag if something is oddly shaped. gift bags are re-used for years (until they are no longer usable). I remember when gift bags first got really popular and were frequently reused among the birthday parties my kids attended-us moms started joking that we ought to all start putting our initials on the bottom of the bags each time before reusing it so we could kind of track the travels and life span of those bags :rotfl:

I like the idea of letting the dogs reach into the gift bag to obtain their goodies.

However, mine is such a wuss! Here is Bob being barricaded by empty bags - he can't go past because the bags move if he touches them and that is just unacceptable bag behavior.

I have one that goes nuts and will stuff her head as far in as needed to get that toy. The other one is clueless and has no idea what to with the bag/box so he ends up having his toy handed to him. And then the other one takes that toy too.

I'm around 50/50 with paper and gift bags. I prefer gift bags as they're just easier than wrapping and some gifts aren't easy to wrap, but it can depend. Christmas gifts tend to be wrapped for the most part.

Unfortunately, no. Just the AC and fans running. We're in DFW. It's 80 degrees this week. I don't know whether to say Merry Christmas or Mele Kalikimaka, lol.
Ha! We're in the 40's, like as mild heat wave. Enjoy a cold Coke.

Mostly wrapped. Though some items do work better in bags, and a few recipients do better with bags than wrapped gifts.

Wrapping paper, 99.9% of the time. I only use bags for things that are very oddly shaped and don't come in a box of their own.

ETA: It was 17F when I left the house this morning to work on finishing up the shopping. I was very grateful that there wasn't much wind. I think we topped out at about 20F this afternoon.

Combo.

Bags are great for odd shaped items especially ones that don't fit well in a box. And we do a combo of new and prior bags we've gotten to reuse them (only if they are in good condition though). Bags also can work for small items that a box would be wasteful.

Wrapping paper is great for things that are easy to wrap like boxes. It can also be good for when you're wanting to code each person's gifts by using the same wrapping paper for each person.

I don't agree with this idea that wrapping means you're making a personal creative touch and you aren't if you're using a bag. Many bags have great designs including simple and elegant or more whimsy. Many wrapping paper designs can be bland or overly busy. I've mentioned it before my sister-in-law often puts an ornament tied or taped (depending on the weight) to our gifts and I subsequently hang those on our tree. That is adding a personal creative touch and she does it regardless of whether it's a bag or a wrapped gift.

I have no preference for one over the other.

I voted 75/25. I love buying beautiful wrapping paper and doing as many gifts as I can. Sometimes I use bags as well..there are so many cute ones these days. Either way, it’s fun to make it festive for the recipient!

I'm probably 50/50. Depends on the size of the gift and who it is for. This year for Christmas I only got gifts for my son, his SO and their daughter. I bought them all on Amazon, had them gift wrapped and shipped. They put them in bags. Hubby bought me a new heating pad (sexy I know but it was what I wanted) and just for fun had it wrapped from Amazon. It wasn't really a gift, just something I was trying to decide if it would work. I'll admit as I've gotten older I've gotten lazy and tend to buy the boxes you don't have to wrap and just put a name tag and bow on them. Or I use gift bags and loads of stuffing paper. We don't buy gifts for anyone other than my son and his family. We told family years ago not to give us gifts, we have way too much as it is.
