Crazy question coming your way ladies...

I see a TON of recipe lately that call for the Ranch Dressing mix.

Does it TASTE like Ranch Dressing?... Or is it just a goodmix of garlic and herbs?

I ask because DH and I are NOT fans of ranch. If it is just the seasoning and not the creamy flavor/texture that is fine.

Leave it alone, it's not for you, more for the rest of us that love that creamy Ranch. :teeth:

Jen just got the text 'n David said Brandi's outta surgery, in recovery 'n all went well.

Good to hear! I hope she can pop in sometime soon.

I am out of commission today. I have no idea what I did but I did it to my ankle. I have been icing it and it is a little better but  it was bad this morning! I needed to work today but that is out of the question. Buddy and Dan are cutting up logs into manageable lengths so I am going to stay on teh couch.

OUCH! I hope the swelling goes down soon!

It's 70+ here today - what is up with this warm January weather? :confused3

Last night I made creamy chicken taquitos, refried beans (crockpot style - our new fave!), and queso. Yummy yummy!

Tonight we're having maple mustard glazed chicken (latest CL mag), steamed rice, and roasted brussels sprouts. Well, the sprouts are for me. DH refuses to eat them again so I asked him what veggie he wanted instead. He chose green beans. I reached for the beans in the produce aisle and I KID YOU NOT the man requested canned instead. I told him he had to get the can himself AND cook them bc I was having nothing to do with canned green beans

I'm also going to make a slimmed down bread pudding recipe also from CL tonight since the oven will be on.

Morning, all!

Thanks for the well-wishes yesterday. I did few things and ended up laying down for about an hour. I never really went to sleep, but I did get rid of my headache. I think I have the sinus thing going on again because when I sit up after laying down, my ears are kind of "poppy" like and I can feel sinus drainage. Ugh. But I am feeling better today. Woo hoo!

I am going out to Panera with a friend today. We are going at an odd time so I asked Scott if he minded if I didn't cook and just brought him something home from there. His answer was, "Did you seriously just ask me that?" LOL! He loves Panera and would never turn down an offer to get food from there.

Ladies, this weather is wreaking havoc on my poor hands. Plus, there is a nasty gastrointestinal bug going around so I have been washing my hands like crazy. Now my knuckles and the insides of my palms are white and cracked. To that end, I've decided to go get a manicure today  I haven't had one in a few months so I am going before lunch with my friend. Woo hoo for me!

I hope you all have a great day and thanks for the update on Brandy!

Oh and FYI, here's a link to my blog. I haven't gotten to cooking part of it started yet, but I'm working on it!

Heeeeey, could ya' pick me up a tomato and mozzarella please? :lmao:

Dinner was a hit last night! My soup somehow turned into a pot of something thicker than a stew so Buddy said he would eat it. He passed on teh cheese but declared it delicious! I added the cheese to mine and it was :thumbsup2

:scared1: I hope you are resting!

Afternoon, all! It's been a busy day, here and I haven't had a chance to check in with anyone.

It's so hard to believe it's winter, what with the weather we've been having! 50 degrees again today! Wow!

Not sure about dinner, tonight. I'm hoping I can talk Alan into going out. We got some gift cards for Christmas that need to be used, and we haven't had a date since early December! I think it's past time.

If that happens, Katie will take care of dinner for the kids.

I hope you're getting ready for your date as we speak. :lovestruc

It depends on what the other seasonings are, honestly. I add a packet of ranch to my taco soup, can't taste it at all. Some other recipes are more predominant. If you find the seasoning in the midst of lots of other spices, generally you won't taste it. It just adds a bit of garlicy twang.

I love those creamy chicken taquitos.

IDK...I gotta a 4 year old carnivore who will help me out.:thumbsup2

She can take her out at knees, then we can make a run for it.:rotfl:

Uh, she better be really small coz Jen's only 4'11". :rotfl:

Why y'all talkin' about me like I ain't even here?

Cassie, I'll share the steak with the 4 y.o. I'll cut it in half. Just ask UncleR how well I do with that. :lmao:

I'm home!!! It's Friday night!

We had a late Friday meeting. We started off with a team-building activity first where we had to make a statue out of various art supplies representing "increasing team moral." All of the speech pathologists were on a team together. We made a margarita glass full of margarita. I won't say whose idea that one was...:rolleyes1

No cooking tonight. The boys are having leftovers. UncleR made beef jerky for us and I may just die in meat heaven all night long rather than sit down for an actual meal. :lmao:

Y'all have a great weekend with your loved ones!

Hi everyone!

Nancy - I'm glad the lasagne soup was a hit!

Cassie and UncleR, you two are funny!

Jen, enjoy your Friday night!

Glynis, I hope you got to go out for dinner!

I'm on my way to pick up our new little girl from her spaying. We are having Prime Rib in honor of the new kids.

Grab her 'n meet us in Austin, we can take a flight out 'n make it just in time for AJ's prime rib. ;)

:lmao: I think Jet Blue still flies from Long Beach non stop to Auatin. You better hurry, it's only a one bone roast, and I'm not letting Jen cut it! :rotfl2:

Ladies are on fire tonight!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :woohoo:

Dinner was leftover lasagna soup and Italian bread. I want dessert but cannot find room  See you all tomorrow!

I have texas sheet cake sitting on the counter. I haven't had a piece in 2 days because I have no room. I'm trying to decide if it's worth it to be busting at the seams, and I think it may be. :lmao:

Morning, everyone :surfweb::surfweb::surfweb:

I went and got a manicure yesterday and I'm so glad I did! I read an article recently that said bright colors on your nails can lift your spirits, so I got a pretty pink color. The lady asked me if I'd like a design and I said yes, but just on my thumbs. She then asked me what I'd like and I told her to surprise me, lol. She did a snowflake! It's so pretty! It's white and silver and it makes me smile whenever I look at my hands. :) I did splurge and got a gel shellac again. Honestly, it's a waste of money to get a plain manicure on my hands. The second I leave the salon and transfer into my car, my polish has been smudged and I've just wasted my time and money. The shellac lasts 1-2 weeks and it's instantly dry. That's my kind of manicure!

It's Saturday so that means shopping and eating out. We will probably go to Shane's BBQ. I am cohosting a baby shower with my mom tomorrow afternoon so I've got to get things ready for that when I get home this afternoon.

Everyone have a great day! :cheer2:

Lindsay I still can remember when I got manicures. It always made me feel special.

WFD is oxtail stew mashed potatoes and sauted spinach.

This spring like temps make me want to cook. I should get my tank filled and grill.

Allison How are you babies?

Jen Are you feeling better yet?

Aimee How are you doing?

I need to get my laundry flipped over and get a couple of errand out of the way so I can play later.
