Holy Smokes! I am so glad it is over! Our entire area looked like a war zone. 100' trees snapped in half, huge limbs spanning the roads. Wires hanging and strewn all over the roads and lawns. A lot of trees seemed to just break in pieces, split down the middle of the trunk. We are lucky that our guys know how to handle the carnage, we still would probably be in the dark. The crews were forced to bypass streets that had too much damage on the lines or the streets but ours was cleaned up. One neighbor is an electrician so he took care of all the houses that he could and then showed Buddy and Dan how to reattach the lines to the houses where they pulled away. He had called the power company first and they said that he was not supposed to do it but "no one would be there to check". he called after so that they knew what was done and to know it was safe.
Brian used his excavator to haul the piles of branches off the street and to the landfill. Our other neighbor cut all of the trees and limbs on his side of the road so between them all we were in decent shape. He and Dan had plowed the roads in our little division to clear what they could before the town got here. It was crazy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 2 ft of snow in October at our house.
I have been following all of the FB posts each day about what you all are thankful for and I must add mine.
I am first thankful for Buddy. Our entire time during this mess would have been a different experience if not for him. I also am Blessed with the best family and friends a woman could ever wish for. I never needed to ask for anything, my children and their spouses were there first. Except for my bread meltdown they were ahead of me. There was no way they could have known that my little house would have 20 people in it on the day after the storm so my provisions melted fast! I now have so much I am eating Fr toast every day

My kids bought me the IPhone and that made all the difference for me, They are the best!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
My neighbors also are like extended family supporting each other! We were not the last to get power but are among the last yet there was no Smitching and moaning like some other communities. I think it is because everyone helped each other and I am Blessed to live here.
I never did figure out how to post here but I followed and you all are awesome
