:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

You made me snort I laughed so hard.

And Kat, if your middle name ain't Louise, it will be now on this thread. :lmao:

I can't wait...

This made me laugh too and cringe a little. I can hear my meme calling me by my whole name.

Wow! You ladies got chatty yesterday!

The carnitas sound so good! Definitely on my list to try! I can't wait to see pictures, hint, hint!

Lindsay - Beaches and Cream looks so good! I hope you're having a fun time!

Jen - I'm jealous about the Christmas shopping. I've been slowly doing mine over the last few months, but then we hit the appliance snag, and had to purchase a washing machine, and a furnace, so things have been put on hold. I'm hoping to finish up before Thanksgiving!

Kathy - I like the sound of Kathy Louise. You guys all gave me a good chuckle!

I had to give up early yesterday! I had a migraine and by 7:00 I was done for! Luckily, yesterday was Alan's early home day, so he was able to take over. I managed to get dinner on the table, and then I crashed in bed. I did get to listen to my cute family play a few card games, and other games for the evening. They didn't even turn the TV on, they were having so much fun! I sure wish I could have been with them, but it was a bad night for me!

Today is Jacob's 12th birthday! I don't know where the years have gone, but my little boy is now a young man! He has requested salmon patties for dinner tonight. Not my favorite thing to make, but he is the birthday boy! I think I'll do some scalloped cabbage to go along with them.

On my list for today: voting this morning, wrapping birthday presents, picking up Jacob's "Texas Donut" (he doesn't like birthday cake), taking treats to his class, getting ready for my Scout den meeting (I need to practice making a Duct tape wallet), cooking dinner, and somewhere in there, I need to clean out our extra refrigerator and get it ready for Thanksgiving. Wish me luck!

OK so my middle name is Laura and the only carnitas I've had are from the reheatable section at Costco. I'm ready for my lashing.

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Sign me up for lashings too!

Hmmmm.....

....Preferably with WHIPPED cream.

ok, my mind stays in the gutter more than half of the time, and for some reason while I was on the train this morning, these just hit me the wrong way.... :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1

Morning from WDW, everyone! All is well down here, I just thought I would pop in and say howdy. CSR does, in fact, now have complimentary wi-fi. That is so nice! Anyway, here's a picture from Beaches and Cream for you :)

DSCN0227.jpg

Hope you have a wonderful time and enjoy!

:yay::yay::yay:

Good Morning!

Kathy Louise! :lmao::rotfl: I hope you're feeling better.

I have made pork carnitas in the crock pot and it was great. I have not looked at the recipe from the Texan website so I think I must.

I lost my whole train of thought...ugh! I am not feeling well the past couple days. I am really tired and have started peri menopause so I am a bit out of it. Not sure if its my lack of thyroid or what. I am learning to deal.

Lindsay, great picture! We love Beaches and Cream, especially the no way Jose!

Dinner tonight is TJs carne asada, rice and tossed salad.

I have a roaster chicken out that I will dry rub to cook tomorrow. I am trying to clean out the fridge, freezer and pantry. I buy too much stuff!

Have a great day all! I will try and BBL!

I hope you feel better soon....

As far as cleaning out the fridge/ pantry/ freezer, I am right there with you, I told my DH and DS that we are having a house cleaning session this weekend...

I will get to the pictures I promise....

Darn work gets in the way of personal life too much...:rolleyes1

Good luck on clean out the fridge

Holy Smokes! I am so glad it is over! Our entire area looked like a war zone. 100' trees snapped in half, huge limbs spanning the roads. Wires hanging and strewn all over the roads and lawns. A lot of trees seemed to just break in pieces, split down the middle of the trunk. We are lucky that our guys know how to handle the carnage, we still would probably be in the dark. The crews were forced to bypass streets that had too much damage on the lines or the streets but ours was cleaned up. One neighbor is an electrician so he took care of all the houses that he could and then showed Buddy and Dan how to reattach the lines to the houses where they pulled away. He had called the power company first and they said that he was not supposed to do it but "no one would be there to check". he called after so that they knew what was done and to know it was safe.

Brian used his excavator to haul the piles of branches off the street and to the landfill. Our other neighbor cut all of the trees and limbs on his side of the road so between them all we were in decent shape. He and Dan had plowed the roads in our little division to clear what they could before the town got here. It was crazy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 2 ft of snow in October at our house. :headache:

I have been following all of the FB posts each day about what you all are thankful for and I must add mine.

I am first thankful for Buddy. Our entire time during this mess would have been a different experience if not for him. I also am Blessed with the best family and friends a woman could ever wish for. I never needed to ask for anything, my children and their spouses were there first. Except for my bread meltdown they were ahead of me. There was no way they could have known that my little house would have 20 people in it on the day after the storm so my provisions melted fast! I now have so much I am eating Fr toast every day :rotfl: My kids bought me the IPhone and that made all the difference for me, They are the best!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

My neighbors also are like extended family supporting each other! We were not the last to get power but are among the last yet there was no Smitching and moaning like some other communities. I think it is because everyone helped each other and I am Blessed to live here.

I never did figure out how to post here but I followed and you all are awesome :grouphug::grouphug::grouphug::grouphug:

This is heart warming and shows that there is still a sense of community out there. I am glad that things are getting better for you in regards to electricity and mobility, but it sounds like your family and friends were angles.

Nancy- Glad to see you back! I've been wondering when you would be able to get back here. I know there are a ton of trees down, but I'm hoping your homes haven't been damaged to badly. We had a major wind storm in 2005 and that is really when we got to know our neighbors, even though we had already been there 5 years. My husband has been in Connecticut since the 31st doing storm work, we are ready to have him home!

Lindsay- Hope your having a great time! How could you not be though!

Glynis- Happy Birthday to Jacob!

Kathy- After Aimee's scolding I hope that pork is on your menu soon.

Well I am officially done with work until May! (Unless a year round job comes around.) I spent the first couple of days off away from the computer, my last few days of work had way to much desk time. I'm hoping to be able to get here on a more regular basis, just in time for holiday meal planning. I am usually done with work at the end of September, I can't believe I only have 2 weeks to get ready for Thanksgiving. I have gotten so much done around the house though, with my husband gone it actually stays clean!

Tonight is the kiddo's dinner request- Salad with ranch dressing, grilled chicken, bacon, and cheddar. Sounds good to me.

Having been through a similar situation, I can truly say I understand the sense of goodwill and community that was obviously present in your family and neighborhood. It is very heartwarming.:grouphug:

So GLAD to have you back!!!!!

Kat- I was constantly thinking of you, Sheryl and the rest of my Southern Coastal friends this week. I have no idea how you all do this year after year. I have said that I am not afraid of winter storms and I am not. After the last ice storm that caught us all unprepared i generally am ready. That one left me without power for 6 days and at that time we had no generator so we had nothing. My family never lost power so we were able to share their hot showers so I was okay. This one was different, it was a freak early storm and our trees were nto ready. They were covered with leaves and they had not frozen through so they were soft. That is why everyone was affected so badly, and that is how I wondered how you all do it. It is one thing to have options but another when the entire area is a mess. Once again, I am in awe of you ladies down there, I would nto have the fortitude to do what you all do every storm season:worship:

Dinner is out. We have to vote so we will meet Marisa and Kady at the pizza shop.

When my mother pulled out the middle name, you knew it was bad. :scared1:

Happy birthday, Jacob! :cool1: The years go by quickly, Mama! Cherish every one!

Luuuuuuucyyyyyyyyyy! I'm hooooooooooome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

 We missed you!!!!

I'm so glad that you and your neighbors were able to work together.

I can't imagine what you've gone through.

What type of employment? (if you don't mind sharing)

Dinner sounds yummy!

Yay for voting!!!

Work is over for today! 8 more days till Thanksgiving vacation!! :cool1:

We bill for our therapy hours, and that's what I did all day! :faint: I hate all of the paperwork! I'd rather just be seeing kids!

Tonight's dinner is stuffed bell peppers, made by UncleR. :lovestruc

Hope everyone goes into Wednesday on a good note!

Lindsay - you look like you both are having a wonderful time!

ok, my mind stays in the gutter more than half of the time, and for some reason while I was on the train this morning, these just hit me the wrong way.... :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1

How do you know we weren't thinking that way.....I mean PIO wanted hers with whipped cream? :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl:

Luuuuuuucyyyyyyyyyy! I'm hooooooooooome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yay! :yay: I can't believe the ordeal that you went through! That sounds like a total nightmare! I really like living in Southern California. I don't think I could handle things like being without power, and roads being blocked by fallen trees!

It will be nice to have you back!

WFD? Probably McDonald's. We are going to try and get Fran out of the house and to band this evening. It will be her first time out of the house in about 12 days.

What makes a donut a "Texas" donut?

Happy birthday, Jacob! :cool1: The years go by quickly, Mama! Cherish every one!

A Texas donut is a regular yeast donut, only it's the size of my twelve year old son's head... seriously! He saw one on a food show last year, and told me that was what he wanted. Luckily, our local bakery makes them once a week, so I was able to get one for him. It's even iced in his favorite flavor... maple! He'll be so happy. I'll take pictures and show you!

Nancy - I'm so glad you have power, and Internet, and everything! How wonderful that your community came together. I've been praying for you all, and hearing that you had people looking out for you makes me positive that my prayers were answered!

Well, I got everything done on my list except the fridge clean out! I've got to go to Den meeting in a half an hour, so I'll put that off until later tonight. After meeting, I need to start on the salmon patties. They are a bit labor intensive, but since Jacob requested them, I can't say no. Hopefully, I'll still feel up to cleaning the fridge out, since it really needs it, and I can't afford to fall behind on my schedule to get the house ready before my dad comes to stay.

Hope Fran does well. And enjoy your McD's. Were you inspired by our treks to our new McD's in town? :lmao:

And you live in Cali...where there are earthquakes! :scared1: I couldn't handle that!

Cause everything is bigger in Texas? :lmao:

Glynis - I'm afraid I forgot to wish Jacob a great big Happy Birthday!:cake::bday:party: I can only blame this nagging backache.

Glynis I hope Jacob has a wonderful birthday. WOW on that donut.

Kat How is your back doing really?

WFD is chili.

It has been rainy and getting cooler all day.

Just a quick check in.

It's Wednesday...so that means dinner is at mum's tonight. :thumbsup2

The 4th book in the Inheritance series by Christopher Paolini came out today and I picked up my copy earlier today. I'm about to settle myself down and start reading it. I think I was a little disappointed with the 3rd book so I'm hoping that he's wrapped everything up and made a better story in the last book. It's over 800 pages!

Have a nice day all.
