The What's for Dinner Thread- June 2012 (recipe index in OP)

Happy Hump day all!!

PIO ~ Thanks so much for the vote of confidence. I do feel better about myself and truth be told - I really even enjoy it.

Kimmar ~ Thanks - no hurry.

OK I have to admit I was pretty proud of myself last night. It is only a 1/2 hour but it is a NON stop 1/2 hour. My legs were a little wobbly when I was done. I am sore today, but not the kind of sore that I am dying. I just hope tomorrow is ok. I have another class and if I am still still sore I have no idea how I am going to do it. But I guess that is what she is for. She is really really good and I know she knows what she is doing. So far so good!!

WFDT ~ Butternut squash soup with a crusty Baggett

Make it a great day!!

Ellen,

Drinks lots of water... That soreness is the lactic acid in your muscles. Drink plenty of water 8-8oz glasses before you go to the gym. and you will feel better.

last night for dinner was broiled pork chops, roasted brussel sprouts, and baked sweet potato.

Ellen - Great work! Sounds like you're starting the New Year in style.

Brandi - Nice sounding dinners.

I made it through 2 very civilised work days at work this week. The promise of a better year than last year is definitely still in the air. I''m hopeful that it remains fruitful for the year.
The work is stuff that I used to do years ago and I'm not really learning anything new by taking on this role. But it's back in an area that I used to love working in; and it feels a lot like coming 'home'.

WFDT? No idea.

....wfdt? Chicken/turkey meatballs with rotini....and for dessert, GF brownies with chocolate frosting....for Ron, whose birthday is today! :cake:

Happy Birthday Ron.

DS wants sushi for dinner tonight. Looks like Japanese to me.

We're just sitting down to see the Lion King. Traffic was horrible (as usual) so instead of a proper sit down dinner we headed to our hole in the wall Middle Eastern joint. I had the beef kefta plate and Fran had the rotissierie chicken salad.

I should have recommended this place to you PIO when you stayed in Hollywood. I'm sure you found olenty of good places to eat, but this would have fit the bill for carnivores and the pesky vegetarian.

That Middle Eastern place sounds great Alison. Maybe next time, if we ever head down to Hollywood again.

Enjoy the Lion King.

Today is a day filled with a headache... It is right behind my eyes, so looking at bright lights or computer screens hurts!... I want to go home!

I have a deep tissue massage scheduled for tomorrow evening and I am looking forward to it!

Happy Thursday everyone,

Kimmar ~ Happy Birthday to Ron!!

Allison ~ So jealous! Getting to see the Lion King is one of my all time things to see. I am assuming it is on the stage right? I have seen the movie but I want so bad to see it on the stage. Here in Nebraska we don't get anything close to what you have. So I hope you and Fran enjoyed it.

PIO ~ "Going home" is a good thing lady. You need this SO bad. I am happy you were smart enough to know it.

Brandi ~ Oh how I hate waking up with a headache. I will have it all day! Hopefully you will get some relief. Bless your heart.
Just keep reminding yourself how good that massage will feel tomorrow.
Thanks for the water advise. But I am a water junkie. I usually have +100 oz. a day. I don't care for tea much and I never drink a pop. I love my water.

Another night with my personal trainer. I am really really sore today but I will let her know and we will work around and through it. I refuse to quit just because I am sore. Actually it feels kind of good - let's me know I really did do something. We are meeting on Tuesdays and Thursdays. I CAN do this!!

It is a cold and frosty morning out today. I wish you could see it, it is beautiful. Everything is covered with white. Not ice and the roads are fine just a covering of white snow I guess. All I know is it is just beautiful. The sun is to shine later this afternoon and maybe hit 40. So all of you to the East of me it WILL get better in a few days.

WFDT ~ Hamburgers, baked sweet potato fries, sliced tomatoes and fresh pineapple.

Make it a great day.

The end of the working week!

DH is making homemade fish and chips for dinner. YAY!

We had crescent dogs and Velveeta shells and cheese. Your dinner sounds like a delicacy!

Ellen, you can do this!!!!

Glad to hear about the water... It is a wonderful thing. and working through the soreness will help a lot, get those muscle warmed up good and get to work, you will feel much better...

My headache, went away after my workout, I really did not want to workout with it, but I had to burn some calories... Ha-Ha, snacked too much when I did not feel good.. Viscous Cycle!!!

Sounds amazing to me.

Brandi ~ Thanks so much. I love having you in my corner. It really helps - Thanks!!
Glad the headache went away.

PIO ~ enjoy your weekend.

It is another cold and dreary day out. But I guess it is winter so it is normal. The temps has evened out and we are somewhat back to what it should be. Lows in the teens and highs in the 30s. I am so glad that cold snap didn't last any longer that it did. So far there has been no ill effect on the livestock, so that is a real blessing.

My work out last night was better. I actually enjoyed it. I am really sore today but I am hoping this is it. It kind of reminds me of quitting smoking - it was HELL to quit so you remember that and never go back. I hope to stick with this and remember how sore I have been so as not to ever quit and have to start again. ;)

WFDT ~ We are going to the winery after work. We haven't been for awhile and I can't wait. So dinner will be finger food and vegetables with dip.

Make it a great day and have a good weekend.
