PIO - I love red leaf lettuce, to me it has good flavor.
We have no garden plans here, we are still getting great greens from the local farm.

My grandmother taught me how to knit when I was young but I have not knitted since I was a little girl. I would if I could pick it back up easily enough?

I haven't knitted in a couple of years. But I think it would be very easy to pick it back up.

Winter is here and it's Monday........just saying!!

PIO ~ Did you get your planting done. We worked in the yard all day yesterday and man it looks nice and all ready for the snow to blow.

Brandi ~ You had a good weekend, huh?

We have really enjoyed Matthew being home. I have tomorrow off for Veterans day so we are going to Kearney as we both have Dr. apts. and then we are going to meet Stephanie for lunch. I hope to get a bit of shopping in after, as I really need a few new bits of clothing. We will see if Matthew thinks that is a good idea or not.

WFDT ~ Pot roast, garlic mashed potatoes, corn and biscuits.

I'm glad to see a new face here posting recipes, welcome! I didnt catch your name.

Brandi - sounds like a fun weekend! Do you eat pizza with cheese or substitute for it?

Ellen - I'm glad youre enjoying your time with Matthew. I hope you get your shopping in tomorrow.

We've checked out of our hotel. The place leaves in about four hours. Our bags are being stored at the hotel which is literally less than 10 minutes from the airport. We've been at the Sawgrass Mills Mall. Supposedly the largest outlet mall in the USA. If you've followed my TRs before you probably have an idea of one of the things we picked up here!

No cooking for me until Thursday and who knows if I'll be able to check in before then. Tonight will be dinner on the plane. Tomorrow will be drive through on the way to band. Wednesday night we are attending a special dinner for Splash Mountain's 25th anniversary.

That game was a nail bitter, to win in OT is not fun! But they did it.

Morning from the frozen tundra!!

Brandi ~ I was even biting my nails on that game. I was sure pulling for you. And yes, the beer probably helped.

Alison ~ Welcome home. I am really really enjoying the TR

Matthew and I had a good day yesterday but he left for home after dinner - gee we are missing him I found nothing as far as new clothes. I tried on a few things but just really did not like them. I am having a bit of trouble - I don't want to look like a 20 year old and the other styles make me look like and old lady. I just am having a hard time. Everyone is wearing legging/ skinny (I am NOT skinny) jeans and boots or polyester pants and jackets. Neither one is my style. So I guess I will continue to wear what I have.

Our high today is suppose to be 12 with a wind chill of -5. Welcome to winter!!

WFDT ~ Chicken curry and jasmine rice with naan. It's a new recipe and a first for me, so we shall see how it goes.

Ellen, Sorry you didnt find anything suitable. I have several fat lady stores here locally where I can find stuff that I like to wear. I can't shop at the regular clothes stores any more. I'm hoping someday I can lose a few of these pounds, but until I make time for actual exercise it won't happen.

Dinner tonight is at the Mouse. Good news is that this particular restaurant serves portions for bird like eaters, so I dont have to worry about a high calorie meal. I just have to make sure that when we drive through somewhere on the way home I dont order too much!

Gastro bug in the house. I didn't eat for 3 days! DS is about a day behind me. It really isn't a happy household here.

I had my first real meal last night for dinner. And it even managed to stay in me; rather than running straight through.
Here's to us feeling well enough to get back to school and work tomorrow!

When I got in my car this morning the temp was 4 - yep 4 - and they are saying the windchill is -19. Man oh man this is rough. Usually you have a build up to these cold temps. But we went from 75 on Sunday to single digits cold. Not fun for man or animals.

The arctic blast is not being nice to anyone..
We are 30 here today. Snow expected this evening with NO accumulation thankfully. I think the ground is still too warm.

I was looking at the weather for Cleveland for the weekend.... COLD
and then for grins I checked the weather in Switzerland and Germany.... warmer than Cleveland... Haha.

last year when we went Spain, I did not have enough warm clothes with me, and now I am kind of gun shy, and worried that I will not have warm enough clothes. I did buy a box of 40 pairs of hand warmers for the trip! I will be trying them in Cleveland this weekend.

Vacay is coming quickly.

Wow! Hearing about all this cold weather is crazy. I can't even imagine. For us it never gets cold here. The coldest we get is that we have to break out jackets occasionally. I can't imagine what below zero feels like, nor do I want to.

Tonight is the first night that I will cook in two weeks. We're having tacos.

Thankfully we didn't have to get drive through after dinner last night, but I'm still not sold on the chef. The menu is pretentious but not compelling. I'm looking forward to my tacos tonight.

We just go with beef. I have to go to the grocery store today before dinner. We don't have much in the house that isn't frozen or condiments. Or booze.
