The WDW Girly Tour -3 SLEEPS TO GO!!(update 8/20,#97)

Nice to read your condensed October trippy (at last :rolleyes1 ) - dhame about Grandad going home early but, like you say, if he felt that strongly about it, maybe it was for the best.

At least you have something to post about, albeit a small update - I am really struggling to get my head round the planning at the moment - does anyone else get a planning slump like this :confused3

Love the photos Claire and I wasn't laughing at your outfit promise :lmao: Good score on the tickets I'll be dining with Cinderella that day, it must be very close to your departure day isn't it :confused3 And congrats on the weight loss :thumbsup2

I go to see Orli 5 days before the trip, so I have managed to make my birthday extend for 11 days, not bad huh?

great pre report.:goodvibes
sounds like you will have a great time.

Love the pics of BBB. Casey will love it. She looks lovely.

Its such a shame about your gd not being to stay for the whole duration. It can be tiring and I feel for him. Sounds as though the holiday went well. You had a great time.

Your worried about your children?? I am nervous about mine. Lately they have been little minxes. I hope they behave. They normally do around other peoples houses. They put a show on for others i.e butter wouldnt melt :rotfl:

It will be nice to meet Carly. I have a few bits about her and she sounds lovely. Its great that we have met on My Space now aswell. I bet Carly was over the moon when her ticket came. I was so excited when I received my confirmation from Virgin. I am just waiting for the flight tickets to come now.

I need to sort out some insurance and my annual pass. I will sort that out next month. I have been reading about the party as well. Sounds great. Cant wait to meet Cpt Jack Sparrow

Orlando Bloom you lucky thing. Is Carly going with you? Make sure you blow him a kiss from me as well ;)

Aaaaarrrrr! I am so fed up waiting for disney to release the AP discounts for August, I was convinced it was going to be today but nope! I think they have spies on the DIS boards and because everyone thought it would be today they sat down and said

"nah, let them sweat it out another week, they're all gonna come anyway right? Mwahhh haah haa:mad: )

The thing is, i really want to know where I'm going to end up staying for the week. lets review my accomodation choices so far for this trip shall we?

Way back when this was a solo trip:lmao: (yeah right) I had a ressie at Pop and was happy with the world. Then i thought lets add a couple of friends....gonna need more space....hmmm lets try POFQ, looks charming enough...small resort, yeah looks good.

Then I got greedy, i wanted deluxe baby, ok I was never under any illusions i was going to get back to the Polynesian:sad1: you beautiful paradise escape, with a soft breeze and view of my castle, I miss you wwwaaaaahhhhh.........where was I? Oh yeah, deluxe choices, but Epcot resorts seemed a good fit for an adult trip, Stormalong bay will be crawling with kids, lets go to the Boardwalk:woohoo: that lasted for a month:sad2: my bank account was crying in protest before i even got on the plane.....deluxe compromise, yes thats a good idea, AKL:yay: hhmmm i like the sound of that, very new, very beautiful, ok not a huge animal lover but it has a huuugggeee pool, and looks peaceful!

Then i bought an AP, you know what? AKL doesn't have a very good history of AP discounts, uh uh, nope the suits in charge of AP discounts seem to think that the AP holders should either stay in the Epcot area (ok not being jipped there) or downgrade to moderate, thats at least historically. Now I'm not saying that its impossible that we could get an AP discount for AKL, I'm just saying its looking unlikely. Which puts me where? Aaaaarrrrrrrrr!!!"!!!!!
I think if I had to choose I would take my ressie back to POFQ, and buy me a whole ton of dole whips with the difference, now theres a plan.

Thanks for letting me vent, normal broadcasts will resume when disney CRO stops messing with their loyal AP holders:lmao:

Waiting for God huh Claire :rotfl:

Just think if you'd stuck at Pop you may have got the free upgrade to OKW or SSR and you'd be laughing. It's a cruel, cruel world we live in :sad2:

So, I figure it could go one of 2 ways - you could get the AP discount at AKL in which case you're laughing all the way back to the bank for more spending money ;) or the AP discounts don't include AKL in which case you're stuck paying rack rate or what? Change resort again? To a resort which is offering AP discount? No chance of free dining for your dates to take the sting out of the tail of paying rack rate and offset the cost against some of those lovely meals you've got planned :confused3

You just know that it will all work out in the end - FDM and all that ;) On the positive side, great minds must think alike as I've been working on a pre-trippie update this morning too. Will post mine later tonight, though, as I may have even more news by then ;)

ETA: Loyal AP holders? 5 minutes you've had yours, isn't it ;) :rotfl:

Ah hah! Just found your Trip report!

Congrats on your first AP! It's hard to go back once you get addicted! :)

I'm so jealous that you get to see Orlando!!! (Bloom, of course, not FL.) Take lots of photos! And give him my number! ;)

Waiting for AP discounts is torture, isn't it? I got AP discounts for AKL in January, so hopefully you'll have good luck with August! I have about 299 more years to wait until discounts come out for October!

Not much longer until your trip! Can't wait to hear how things go!

Hi Joh, I was merely making a stand for all passholders on their behalf:lmao: What will happen is that we will change to POFQ if we can't get discount at AKL or WL, we decided that it doesn't matter where we stay as long as we're at WDW, and carly has been pouring over resort piccies this morning and decided she likes the look of Pop, bottom line, the tickets are booked and we will be in a WDW hotel room somewhere:goodvibes

Hi Crystal, I'm so happy you found me, you are my queen of trippies:worship: having an AP was long overdue really, i just wish I'd have got one last year for my 2 trips! i will be more than happy to pass details to Mr Bloom, of course once he meets me then all the other ladies will just have to weep into their pillows:love: aaahhh I wish........ Thanks for coming on board:goodvibes

Oh Claire I feel for you. You were so looking forward to getting the AP rates. Any idea when they think they might release them? Anywhere will be good. Its WDW. :cool1:

:dance3: :dance3: :dance3: :dance3: :dance3: :dance3: :dance3: :dance3:

They have released Florida resident discounts for August and September!! Now I know this doesn't mean we're gonna automatically get AP discounts but it sure does look better than a week ago:dance3:

Can't wait to see what happens next, its better than the O.C.:lmao: (yes I know that show got cancelled lol)

IN THE NEWS

Carly's autograph book arrived from the US this week, she was very pleased:goodvibes Sometimes i think I might be too much of a good friend! Seriously though, i keep coming up with these little treats to make this trip a more magical for her, I have a couple more ideas for before we go, but if anyone has a good suggestion for a little "going to WDW" package I could give her the night before then let me know.

I'll be back when (and I firmly believe when not if) they release AP rates:dance3:

I got it, I got it!

No not Einsteins Theory, I'm not that clever, no I'm talking about an AP rate:banana: actually its 2 bananas worthy:banana:

So I couldn't get AKL, nor could I get Pop, nor could I get any deluxe except Grand Floridian:scared1: But I did get POFQ, which is pretty cool beans, for $105 per night including taxes, which is only $3 more than Pop per night, nothing wrong with that yay!

Yay :dance3: POFQ looks lovely. Cant wait Claire. Especially the boat to DTD. Looks great.

Warning :headache:

Claire has given to those who are staying at the POFQ on the 23rd August-29th August 2 months warning to change accomodation, due to WDW girly tour. There will be lots of drinking, singing, staggering going on within the resort. For those who are easily offended by this sort of action may wish to avoid this resort. ;)

:rotfl: Oh hun, made me rollover laughing, but its oh so true, Michelle's warning stands!

Hi Claire!
Just found your pre-trippie and noticed we'll both be at POFQ, and yet both wishing we were at the Poly! :lmao: Just kidding, well sort of. :rolleyes1
I'll be there 8/21-8/30 so I'll keep my eye out for the Girlie Tour girls! :thumbsup2

I do believe Jo has invited you to join us at the Poly on the 25th for Lapu's on the beach. So maybe you all can swing by after Fantasmic. :teeth: If Jo hasn't I have to say I"m surprised with her and proper English etiquette. :snooty: ;) LY, Jo!

I loved all your mini-trip reports, and you're little ones are adorable! :goodvibes

Hi everybody,
so we have made it to 28 days before takeoff:banana: my my that went fast! I haven't been here for a while and to be honest there has been so much going on that I have been completely distracted from my disney planning:scared1: I know, shocking isn't it?

The first big piece of news is that Carly is pregant!! She is currently 14 weeks, which will make her 18 weeks at departure, so I have been researching what she can and can't do. The obvious are roller coasters and such, but we are going to have to be very very careful in that August sun with her, and i will have to try and uncommando myself, you have no idea how hard this is going to be for me. I am a firm believer in TGM and touring plans, and even though this will be my 7th trip to the world, i always seem to be on a mission to see everything.....this could be very healthy for me to have to smell the roses this time. the funny thing is I really admire those trippies where people have wandered the resorts, watched three Off kilter shows, just wandered without really doing much and enjoyed their surroundings. As lovely and relaxing as all this is, it goes against every fibre of my being:confused3 Please tell me I am not the only one people. this is not to say i go full pelt from sun up to sun down, I am a TGM er after all, i get everything done in the morning, rest and enjoy the evening back at the park, but those mornings can be hairy:lmao: the one attraction that i can't seem to get a straight answer on is Mission Space. Now obviously i wouldn't put carly in a centrifuge, thats just silly, but the new version doesn't spin does it? Its the juddering effects without the forces, so what do you all think? Would you deem this new version safe for an expectant mother? I can't see why not, but i would be very keen to hear from anybody that thinks otherwise as i don't want to put her in any danger.
The other thing that got my attention this week was reports of snake sightings at POFQ:scared1: Anybody that knows me a little will know that my biggest hysterical fear is those nasty slithering mosters, i can't look at a picture of one, can't hold a book if there is a picture of one in it, can't touch the tv to turn it off if one is on...you get the idea! Ok the obvious retort to all of this is why on earth would i choose to vacation at WDW if snakes are such a big deal to me? Do i know that snakes are there all the time?....well yes of course I know this in the back of my mind and that Florida has a healthy snake population, its just that i can switch these little facts off when i am in the parks or in the disney bubble in my head, Mickey just wouldn't let them get me would he? I just don't want to actually have to see one, so please please disney gods, can you just wipe them out in 28 days time for a week? I will feel much better thankyou:rotfl:

Next planning hitch: our flights leave London heathrow at 7:55am, so we need to be there at 4:55am for security, and while i dont mind driving in the middle of the night, I am going to my happy place after all, it would be so much more convenient to stay at the airport the night before. Heres my hitch, the kids father will not commit to staying over the night before. Now he must realise that i will have to leave at 4:15am so surely he would rather be tucked up in a bed and not have to drag himself out of bed, but this is one of thsoe times where he is enjoying watching me suffer till the last minute:mad: I'll keep you posted.
Still related to flights, i am still stressing over this 1hour and 25 minute connection time I have at Washington Dulles, I have only heard bad reports about Dulles security, actually the reports are almost comical, so if anybody would like to reassure me and tell me about their wonderous 10 minute escape through security then feel free to share. i know that I ahve been promised that we WILL get on the next flight if we miss the first one, but i so want to get to Orlando at 14:55 not 16:45, thats practically 5 hours of MK touring time we could have if we make it. ( see commando, commando:lmao: )

Signing off for now, i have more to share so see ya later xx

The first big piece of news is that Carly is pregant!!
Whoohooo congratulations Carly :goodvibes

Mickey just wouldn't let them get me would he?
:rotfl2: No Claire Mickey won't let the snakes get you you'll be fine :rotfl2:

Heres my hitch, the kids father will not commit to staying over the night before.
What  Hope it gets sorted out!

thats practically 5 hours of MK touring time we could have if we make it. ( see commando, commando:lmao: )
What no jet lag? All we want to do is sleep when we get there and we're not leaving anywhere near as early as you!

Oh Claire why is James like that aye. I agree he is doing it on purpose. It makes more sense him staying the night. :confused3 Lets hope you get it sorted out. If he doesnt stay make sure you phone him when he is meant to get up and leave. ;)

I dont know about Mission Space I have only ever rode the intense version. Perhaps we should speak to a CM or post it on the UK boards. I dont know. :confused3 I was thinking this the other day what rides may be a problem I had these not sure if I am wrong

Problem rides:

Space mountain
Splash mountain (drop)
Thunder Mountain
Dinosaur Ride
Everest
?Kali
Rock n roller coaster
Tower of terror

There a quite a few shows and rides still which is why I love WDW. Always something for everyone.

I hope you make the flight. If not I am not sure what to do. I could wait at MCO or get the ME. I feel guilty if I did. You never know with Virgins delays it will be more likely me thats late. I hope not it would be great travelling down together and checking in. Getting to the park. I am so looking forward to LTT that night. Its my fav resturant

24 days and counting :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:
