Fantasmic in my opinion will be after 4/4, it just seems Disney is going to be very careful and err on the side of caution. As for Mando and baby Yoda, I do not see any kind of ride. A meet and greet would be too difficult with using a puppet as one of the subjects. However, I could see an addition to a parade, seeing baby yoda from a distance on a parade float could be doable.

I see what you’re saying, but how do they pull off the Baymax orBB8 M&G? I guess Baymax was probably a CM in an inflatable suit. If it’s an AA, they could do it fairly easily. Also, I never did the baby Groot but my DS did. How did that one work?

I'm gonna be in the minority, and say that I think Fantasmic will come back before April. The poster on the other board who said it would be back in February seems to be a pretty reliable source. Plus, we are going in March, so I selfishly hope that is is back by then! lol

Topic 3: Fantasmic returns AFTER 4/5/21 - even with SD seating, you still have the choke points to get in and out of the lagoon area. That's a big expensive production - you almost need a full theater for it to make sense to even run it. A better question, maybe same question would be fireworks in ANY park. I think we all know the answer to that question - that is definitely AFTER 4/5/21 (again, getting ahead of the thread though - SORRY!)

Topic 4: Mando/Baby Yoda BEFORE 3/1/22 - at first I read this as 3/1/21 and I thought maybe after. That's a tight window to figure out how to incorporate them, but I was still going to say BEFORE. 3/1/22 though? Parks should be pretty much back to normal by then. That's a definite BEFORE. I think that the former animation academy will go right back to a SW M&G post-COVID. Baby Yoda and Mando are the hottest characters in the SW universe right now - and for the foreseeable future. They will definitely be a part of that.

Topic 4: The Mando Presence
With the massive success of Mandalorian, when will Hollywood Studios add a Meet and Greet or a new experience specifically with Mando and "Baby Yoda".

Will Mando and "Baby Yoda" either be featured in:

• A Meet & Greet (including modified with social distancing) anywhere at Hollywood Studios, such as:
  • Star Wars Launch Bay
  • Celebrity Spotlight (replacing Olaf)
  • Batuu (ignoring the timeline/story issues that it causes)
  • Anywhere else at DHS
• A parade or march of some kind
• Or will they add a new experience/simulator in Star Tours featuring the new characters?

The delimiter is beyond what they have now (Magic shot and Merchandise)

Will this happen Before or After 3/1/2022. If you think it will never happen, go ahead and vote Never. I’ll include those answers as well.

Fantasmic after. The parks are at 35% now. I would say once the vaccines really ramp up that maybe in the spring the parks go to 50% and then 75% end of summer which is when I think Fantasmic returns. I think 100% for Epcot holiday processional, etc...

that is the ‘heffalump’ in the room. Disney thinks people are there for the Brand, where in reality they are there for the experience which created the brand. And withhold the experience many of us will just find another place to vacation.

Perfectly stated. The biggest reason I'm waiting on a return is the diminished experience. I rediscovered Disney late. Went as a boy living in Tampa in '75 and started returning with my granddaughters 4 years ago. I still thought that MK was Disney World when I visited as a Grandfather. Regardless, it is the experience and the nostalgia, making a subconscious impression on me as an 8 year old in 75, that created a late blooming fan. I think the experience has to be there or it's just not Disney and its not there right now.... and after April...

Fantasmic - After 4/5/21 and possibly never as the show has been down for 6+ months and WDW of late has not been good with preventive maintenance and that show has a lot of major mechatronic systems.

Sure I was just pointing out that Mando isn’t until 2022. I don’t expect Mando to have much of an appearance in Book of Fett. Fett also already has appeared in the parks.

I think Fantasmic is not back until summer and widespread vaccine usage. Too hard to manage the exit crowd.

Mando and Baby Yoda. I'm sort of surprised they aren't there already, but if they are coming their arrival will be before March. S3 Mando isn't on the 2021 schedule for D+, and I think you're much more likely to see a Boba Fett or Asohka presence in the park than much of Mando after August.

Sorry, couldn't imagine that something that's been out for more than a month would need spoiler tags. Shouldn't have tried to be funny. Especially when the actual season ended a week ago. But sorry anyway.
