The WDW Comeback: Before/After Game

Topic 2: When will Disney start selling new Annual Passes again?
Will it return Before or After 3/31/2021?

This is a tough one. I might be a little jaded as I’m pretty sure they got one over one me with the refund but....

Im going after. I think it will take a little longer for them to hash it all out and wait to see what the vaccine does to travel and park operations. Plus they can get in that feb price increase without us knowing.

After. I really don’t think they’ll start selling them until capacity, and more importantly resort bookings, are back to basically normal. Most people going now are more local and they’re not close to booking resorts fully. They’ll keep APs to renewal only probably until next fall or winter. My guess.

Before.

They need the revenue and they seem to be doing okay handling the lower capacity. Suggestion for the next one? Fastpasses.[

After. Like others said, I don't see them doing this until things are more "normal", and as Rteetz said, regular tickets make them more money, and right now, they want money.

They kind of already are...

No, not to everyone. The key word is New.

"Annual passes are currently only for sale to people who either cancelled their passes since March 2020 or whose passes have expired since then."

Once everyone has access to the vaccine I think Disney will consider getting back to "normal". That's supposed to happen June/July. That would include AP's, fastpasses, full park capacity, etc. But I think I am getting ahead of this thread. Suggest "reopening the Port Orleans resorts" for future topics...

Someone was able to upgrade Florida resident tickets to APs. Those with previously canceled APs are also getting new ones. They aren’t reactivating the canceled ones. It’s a brand new AP with new start and end date.

Okay cool. Can you get me some AP from WDW.com?

I think what @rteetz was pointing out is that by just stating when will a Disney start selling New APs again is misleading, as they are selling new APs currently. Probably the better way to phrase the question would have been “When will Disney lift all restrictions on buying APs and allow anyone to purchase one?”

Yes that would have been better. I still think it's a contrarian take for the sake of it.

Most people knew what I meant.

Right now it’s mainly a case by case basis. They aren’t actively selling them online but in person is a different story.

They’d rather sell regular tickets than APs in terms of revenue. They make more there.

As an AP and fairly local in Tampa, I would never ever pay the price for regular tickets or even the discount tickets for 3/4 days for FL residents for the first part of the year. It's AP or nothing.

When I go to Disney I always stay on property from Values to Deluxe, eat at TS for the most part, book tours. In other words I'm dropping some cash, several times a year.

Get rid of APs?
I can live without Disney for a few years.

I didn’t say they were going to get rid of them. They just would rather focus on selling tickets because they make more.

They will definitely come back, I wouldn’t worry. We are debating on when.
