I liked the scene where Isobel said that Damon was in love with Elena. Awkward moment for him. One thing I don't understand is how Isobel and Elena are direct descendants of Katherine. I thought vampires couldn't get pregnant, so I'm wondering if Katherine had a baby as a young teenager, before she met the Salvatore brothers.

It's nice that the writers don't drag out every dramatic moment. On a lot of shows, we would have had to wait until next season to find out Isobel's story. I don't understand why Katherine wants the vampires from the tomb to die. I would assume that she was friends with some of them. She and Pearl were definitely friends and yet John was told to kill Pearl on Katherine's orders.

Since Isobel is Elena's birth mother - Isobel has to be a descendant of Katherine like a great grandaughter so Katherine had to have a child before she became a Vampire - that's the only thing I can think of since Elena looks like Katherine.

I so love this show and I love Damon!! Could he be any hotter? Seriously!!!

I can't wait for next week but I don't want it to be over with yet either.

I just finished downloading the entire season from iTunes. I am ADDICTED to this show! I hate everything Twilight, but Vampire Diaries and True Blood, I can't get enough of!

Hey girl! If you like True Blood, be sure to read Charlaine's series - the books are better than the show.

Last night's ep of Vampire Diaries was great. As much as I dislike isabel, I was glad to see that it really was a front for Ric and Elena.

I am firmly on the "Team Damon" - partly because I never liked paul Westley when he was on Guiding Light - which was at least 10 years ago - and he was playing a teanager then too! But Damon is soooo hot.

I didn't realize that next week was the finale - I hope they show re-runs during the summer (not that I missed any...)

This is one show that I can't wait the the first season to come out on DVD. I'd love to have a Vampire Diaries marathon and watch them all.

lastnight was the first episode i didn't particularly care for. idk, i don't like the whole "Elena's really adopted and her real mother is Alaric's ex-wife who is now a vampire" storyline

and i want to smack Bonnie upside the head right about now lol.

I'm late to this thread but I've been watching it since the beginning....love loved tonight's show. I can't wait until next season. Why couldn't they have the season on instant streaming with netflix so I can just watch whenever I want...so love Damon...

I've read somewhere online, and honestly I don't remember right now where I saw it, but I read that Tyler and his dad **MIGHT** be werewolves. Wish I could remember where I saw that. Might explain why they became incapacitated when the high pitch sound emanated from the watch, since dogs are very sensitive to noise.

Thoughts???

Boy, I can't wait until it comes back on this fall!

Tyler and his dad are werewolves in the Vampire Diaries books, so they may very well be in the series too. I wonder if Elena is going to save Jeremy before he "dies" or if she will be too wrapped up in confronting Katherine. Great kissing scene between Damon and Elena/Katherine.

Very unexpected for Kat to show already and Damon kissed her. Wait until he finds out who he was smooching. A little BS that he did not know right away but I will give it a pass.

Very interesting with the "wolf thing". Are they shapeshifters or werewolves?

Funny bit of trivia....I caught an episode of an old series called "Wolf Lake" in which the characters are shapeshifting wolves. "Stephan" was a shapeshifter in that series.
