The Upcoming College Football Season

Why should the schools profit and not the players? The schools get billions of dollars from those TV contracts. Why shouldn't the players get a cut?
So the players AREN'T profiting? The free tuition, books, meals, and housing don't help them? What about the free clothes they get? The free tutoring that ANY other student (even one with scholarships) would have to pay? The networking through boosters? The access to medical facilities, weight rooms, lounges with computers and televisions? Yea, those athletes are really suffering.

And you do know those "billions of dollars" don't go to every school, just the top ones, right? AND a lot of that money is used to provide scholarships to "non-revenue" sports.

Well the flood gates have already opened since California and Washington State have already allowed colleges to pay players. It is only a matter of time before the rest of the country gets on board.

Well, the American Athletic Conference IS playing football!

The schedule will start two weeks later than originally scheduled, on September 19. AAC teams will play at least the eight conference games previously scheduled, on the dates scheduled. They may also play some non-conference games if they wish. The conference championship game will be set sometime in November.

UCF opens on Saturday, September 19 at Georgia Tech for a non-conference game, so right now they have 9 games scheduled. Our first home game will be Tulsa on Saturday, Oct 3rd.

UCF has announced they WILL have fans in the stands in the "Bounce House" for football games.

They will have 25% capacity. The stadium holds 44,000+, so they will allow about 11,000 -- 3,000 of whom will be students. The student tickets will be distributed by lottery.
