Why isn't Disney sending communication about this. Thus far I am being told by forums to call back...but not Disney themselves? How can they cancel a reservation without communicating their computer glitch. This doesn't add up. I'll call back after work but will not hold for a lengthy time. I did everything correctly, watched the blogs, made arrangement work and child care wise to be available at 7 am to make this Ressie...it doesn't wash...

Somebody posted somewhere that DIsney is compiling the list of reservations without CC# with hopes of notifying them.
But I was not waiting, I called to get my cc added along with my friend's/client reservation as well. I wrote down the name of the CM who helped me add the number and the time of day I called.

What I don't understand is this really seems to be Disney's M.O.
Whenever they have some new openings they seem to be "surprised" about the popularity.
And fiascos like this (too high call/crowd volume) has happened during other events too, like new cruise itinerary openings, cruise dates opening, inaugural events, pin events, etc.
Different departments same results...
For a company as big as disney it still amazes me how much they could botch things like this.

GET IT ADDED!!!!
The CM might try to be kind and make you not worry but I talked to several CMs now and they said the system is current set up to AUTO cancel any reservations without CC# by midnight... unless disney "fix" this problem before then.
So get your CC added...

call back, good luck, if you are DVC call member services, they really got their act together compared to earlier this morning.

Automated Booking Service and Credit Card Numbers

For those who booked reservations for Be Our Guest Restaurant through the automated booking service this morning (i.e. you did NOT speak to an actual human being), these reservations have not been held with a credit card guarantee and may be cancelled today due to a glitch in the system. You will need to call back on the dining line today and modify your reservation, adding a credit card number guarantee.

My personal experience: I booked via the automated line and ended up battling busy signals for over an hour before finally getting back through to the system. The dining reservation agent I spoke to put me through to the Dining Help line. The Dining Help line agent added my credit card number to the reservations and gave me new confirmation numbers.

If you do this, continue to confirm your reservations today and tomorrow as a precaution.
Current State of Reservations

Currently, I’ve heard nothing negative about reservations that were booked through an actual agent today. Those should still be in place.

For those of us still trying to get reservations, from what I can tell many Disney dining and reservations lines are still busy, and many dates in November and December are booked up. Depending on how many of the automated reservations are cancelled today and tomorrow, there may be slots opening up.

Keep calling, and if you’re a DVC Member or Annual Passholder, you may have better luck getting through by using those dedicated service lines. If you can’t get through, online reservations open up on Wednesday — keep checking for cancellations.

I’ll update this post as I hear more information.

I know. How would people know they had to call back? I have two reservations for BOG showing in the online system with confirmation numbers. Am I supposed to assume that they will be cancelled if I don't call any give my CC number? I already tried calling back and I can't wait on hold any longer. So we got through finally but didn't get the reservation. Why? Because our Internet decided to drop for what feels like the millionth time this summer. And my Mom was on Skype which requires Internet to talk. Too make things even 'better' my Mom had finally gotten through to a CM. She was starting to make the reservation when it dropped. Call back.

Ask to talk to a supervisor.

The Guest Services CM I talked to, who added my CC, said they would, eventually, be cancelled if there was no CC# attached. He wasn't sure when (given they knew about the issue and were scrambling to try to find a way to fix it for everyone), but he thought that they would be, at some point.

And is the DisneyFood blog an official Disney site? Why haven't they posted a customer service message on THEIR blog? If indeed we all really do need to call back in...

And if they are compiling a list...it would be done already! It wouldn't take long to generate that list...I have received no phone call and my reservation was made at 8am this morning.

I had a horrible experience with Disney over the Designer Princess Dolls and am shocked they can't find a way to handle these high demand requests. More I portably they create these high demand requests!

Yes, I agree it is frustrating. i just got off the phone - again - after adding my cc to my reservation. But multiple places are reporting the same thing about the computer glitch (disney food blog, wdwmagic) as well as others here. I would try and call back later if you can.

Got through to an agent a while ago after about half an hour, was told that she couldn't modify my existing ressie to add a CC# and she'd have to make a new ressie and cancel the old. Ended up with a 7:10pm on Dec 26th instead of 6:10, which is closer to the 7pm time we were originally aiming for anyways lol

Well, now that that's done, I have actual things to do and errands to run, which means I have to get out of my PJs and leave you wonderful people for now.

Thank you all for your vigilance and swift alerts about what was going on with the CC confirmation. Without you guys, we wouldn't have a reservation for our Christmas trip! Best of luck to those of you still trying to get through to make ressies/ add CC#s! Sending you all of my pixie dust!

I'm through finally. Tried constantly on the WDW-DINE number and never could get through. Finally switched to 939-7675, got 3 busy signals, then went right through to automated. It didn't take credit card though, so I'm on hold. It's say 25+ minutes to wait on hold, but we got February 14th at 5:35pm for 6. Yay!

I did try for November 19th, just to see what was left and nothing came up. I tried 6pm for 6. There was nothing between 4-8pm on that day or the 2 before and after.

omgosh! Sorry to hear that! That happened to me before when they tried to change my phone number! she cancelled 3 of my ressies

As badly as I feel for all of us who had to rebook today, I feel even worse for the CM’s who are likely going to have to tell hundreds of people several months from now that their ADR’s were auto-cancelled.
