I've decided to do a solo park-commando-style trip in mid January, doing a Friday at Epcot and a Saturday at Epic Universe (unless someone gives me a compelling reason to switch the order - I wanted Epic later in case my flight is delayed getting to Orlando). However, I'm torn on which weekend to go!

I can go either January 8-11, or January 15-18. I'd really like to see Festival of the Arts at Epcot, which starts on January 16. BUT that's also a long holiday weekend so I'm sure both parks will be much busier that weekend than the prior weekend.

Airfare and hotel prices and availability are basically the same between the two. I'm locked in on the travel days and number of park days. What to do?

It’s all about scripting ahead! Plan all your attractions ahead! If you need to LL some attractions, do so!

Well, the Disney marathon takes place the weekend prior to MLK weekend, so it will be busy also. The half marathon takes place Saturday and the full marathon on Sunday. If you visit that weekend I would stick with Epcot Saturday and Epic on Sunday as the marathon ends in Epcot, resulting in a lot of congestion and detoured walkways.

Epic might be more crowded MLK weekend than marathon weekend. So you might want to go for marathon weekend, keeping Epcot on Saturday and Epic on Sunday.

Even though it will be busy, I voted for MLK weekend. I LOVE Festival of the Arts, it’s my favorite. Be patient, have a plan and go for it!
