The Unofficial Chatterbox Thread! Everyone is Welcome!

Hmm?

I was just going to post that Kaitlyn probably has the Swine flu. Kept her home from school today, and her temp rose so I called the doctor and he said all of her symptoms sounds like it.:sad2: So she just took her first dose of Tamiflu.

I'd appreciate your thoughts and prayers for her.

Melody

:hug:I will say a prayer for her tonight Melody. Boy this flu stuff is getting kind of scary. I'm getting the kids their regular flu shots tomorrow and the H1N1 as soon as they get them, hopefully next week.

I understand your concerns, H1N1 is scary stuff.
Hope she gets better soon.

The vaccine has just arrived in MN, health care workers first (nasal spray) and then a waiting game until the injectable type becomes available.
:guilty:

Thanks guys!:grouphug:

Now my other DD who is pregnant was put on Tamiflu just as a precautionary measure. She was exposed to Kaitlyn the night before she came down with it. When I told my doctor this last night, he decided to call Becky this morning and told her he was prescribing it for her too, just in case. I guess it is extremely risky for pregnant women to get this flu.:sad2: Anyways, he is a great doctor to do this on his own I think.

All of you are getting excellent care! I was just reading about another doctor who prescribed Tamiflu as a precautionary measure for children exposed at a summer camp. It was frowned upon by other doctors and is not the guidelines for CDC.. however, it stopped the spread of the flu. :yay:

Proactive instead of reactive care is how this really should be handled IMO. And yes.. pregnant women are at very high risk.. that was a sad bit of news to read... however, keep in mind, this is really the first time they have tracked on a global level how the flu (any flu) affects certain subgroups of the population. There is much they don't know.. but every day they find something new to share with the world. :goodvibes

Ugh, k just need to vent for a second.

My step sister just got engaged and is planning her wedding for right around the same time as mine! You're probably thinking no big deal, and maybe it's not, maybe I'm just being bridezilla.

But because my wedding is a destination wedding I don't see this ending well. I see my mom and step dad bailing on my wedding to attending step sisters. I'm sad because I want my mom there, but if she can't afford to pay for step sisters wedding and attend mine in aruba I can't make her.

Okay, I'll just tell myself not to worry about it right now, it's still over a year away.

K, vent over.

:hug:Im sorry!!! that is awful!! I would be upset... maybe you guys can just elope, and have a party where your families are.

Yeah we talked about doing that but dh is really excited about getting married in aruba, he rarely gets excited about anything so I don't have the heart to change plans on him. I think we'll just do a dinner when we get back for the people who couldn't make it and be happy with who ever can come.

I think I'm just upset because my family hasn't really been supporting our idea for a destination wedding, they keep telling us it's too expensive and nobody's going to come. So this new wedding just adds to my stress, but whatever. My family is going to be poops regardless where we get married so I think we'll just do it where it makes us happy and most excited.

:hug: That sucks :( I don't blame you for being upset. I would be upset too!

Just a quick post here. Here is a clip of me playing the piano: http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v98/eatmypixiedust/?action=view&current=PA060030.flv

It's Never Say Never by The Fray. :)

Hope you guys are doing well. :grouphug: I watched Toy Story 1 &2 in 3D yesterday. It was cool and they had funny stuff to keep you entertained during intermission (they gave you a 10 minute break after the 1st film). This is a double feature and is only out for 2 weeks I believe. Oh and I got to see the preview for Toy Story 3, which comes out in June 2010.

Bummer on the wedding planning, do you think it was on purpose to choose the same time period?? My SIL is still having issues, she had a chance to talk to my dh last week, hopefully it gave her some insight on their mom and reassurance that it will work out.. despite the drama. Oh yes.. and BIL had told her he doesn't think he will attend her wedding.. what?? I realize he is in his final years of his program and has clinic rotations.. but the wedding is on a Saturday.. in August. I really think the program staff will be flexible for time off (to drive MI to WI) for his only sister's wedding. Stupoid jerk.. make the poor gal feel even more stressed. HMPH!

I have my own vent issue today.
E drew monthly labs, usually we drop the box at a Fed Ex location. Today he is working late, I scheduled a pick up instead. Prepped the box and set out on the front step-- knowing that I would be in our back bedroom most of the day working on organizing my exploding box of coupons to sort... I wouldn't be able to hear the door buzzer. Ran some letters to mail (Megan another envie on the way!) and someone had moved the box.. tucked under the eave .. okay fine..

J comes home and comment "what's with the box" .. okay they haven't come yet fine.

I ask N when he comes home, is the box still there?

what box? ..

J replies the one in the lobby.

SCREEEEEEEEEEEEEEECH wait?? It's INSIDE?
yeah why?

:headache:

sigh... hope it was recently moved inside and fed ex is still coming. I wanted it outside to keep the blood cool, it has a liner and freezer pack.. but warm blood is so not appetizing for the lab.

Ran downstairs, plopped it back outside (under the eaves so it stays dry), left a big note "Fed ex pick up, Residents: Please do NOT move box!!!"

:lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao:

Hope whoever was the "trying to be nice" erson gets the drift to leave it alone! Maybe I should write "P.S. not valuable unless you're a vampire"

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

I checked my account, still listed as "scheduled" .. here's hoping...

Oh cool pixter, that was really pretty. I didn't know you could play the piano. I took lessons as a kid but hated practising so quit, now I'm the only one in my family that can't play a musical instrument. How long have you been playing?

And yeah it is rather upsetting (the wedding thing), I'm not sure if she did it on purpose or not. She said she wants to have fall leaves on the ground. I understand that some women have a wedding dream or whatever it's still seems rude to me. Nothing I can do about that though. Dh and I are going to have the perfect day even if it's just the two of us, maybe it will be better if it's just the two of us!

It might just be better just the two of you. When I got married it was REALLY stressful. My mom thought I was doing enough planning and planned the whole thing herself. :scared1:MY WEDDING. It was awful. She almost didnt come.. Because I almost killed her! I say going away just the two of you is romantic!

:rotfl:

What is it with moms and weddings??
My mom was actually really good about the wedding.. my dad.. well..

I had nothing planned for ours, after watching the fiasco unfold with my sister's (two families with grand ideas and no money) I told mom I was planning to elope. She was happy with that idea.. my dad.. not so happy. I got a wedding, homespun simple.. but still a wedding I didn't want. I had no say in the planning, we just showed up on the appointed day :thumbsup2 And then crushed my dad's idea of us staying at their house afterwards, my mom passed some cash to me in secret and said "have a nice stay in town"... awww thanks mom! :lovestruc

OW! Noah says..

why?

Because Poly did a psychotic kitty move, running across the back of the couch like some wild untamed beast. Noah was just sitting back and reading quietly. The cat launches herself across and used Noah's face as a jumping point. :scared1:

Leaving a nice looooooooooooooong bloody scratch down Noah's face (temple to chin). Dang, good thing we have antibacterial wash and ointment at hand. hmm, maybe this will be incentive for Noah to get a hair cut  his long hair is matting into the ointment.

I think this is the worse damage she has ever done to us... besides bite damage to drain and water lines out of curiosity.

Moms are crazy... I cant wait for my kids to think I am crazy some day... Even though Alex already does. You know what?? He has his FIRST sleep over this weekend. My baby is spending the night at his buddies house. :sad1: He is growing up WAY to fast.

Alex is picking Jasmines nose

lovely.. ewww

:lmao:

Cool on the first overnight, eventually they will all be old enough to farm out to friends and family for a night of kidless bliss. ;)

:lmao:

But I bet your boys will never have the chance to slumber party with 8 other flutist.. all girls. :rolleyes1 :rotfl: He's so cute about being the only guy, next plan is to go to Olive Garden.. carb-ing up before they go to BOA competition.

I'm not going to like E's new schedule. :headache: He started his after school program today, won't be home until after 6 ...which seriously screws with his dialysis schedule and family events. Money = good - time sucking = bad.
