The Unofficial Chatterbox Thread! Everyone is Welcome!

My mom and I are planning to volunteer a day to get the collectible Ear Hat figurine with exclusive trading pins.

Awesome! I let my AP expire, so I will make all of the kids work and get a free day for our spring trip to FL. I'm thinking Typhoon Lagoon...here we come!

SO....I am officially getting ready for Christmas. I just traded in some of my bosses credit card points for gift cards. I got $500 JC Penney, $200 Kohls, $100 Macys and $100 Best Buy. Oh and since I had an extra 10,000 points that I couldn't use for gift cards, I got myself a new set of T-Fal cookware.:thumbsup2 Let the shopping begin!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

We had a baking dish with chicken explode once, but it was after we took it out of the oven. That is where we discovered that setting a hot dish on the cold oven top is not a smart thing to do.

:rotfl2: I got you both beat! My oven once exploded. The glass in the window part thing completely shattered. Talk about scaring the crap out of someone! Luckily all the glass mostly landed on the food in the oven (fish and chips) but it was not fun cleaning it all up.

Yikes! I've never had any type of cooking item break (maybe because I don't cook:rolleyes1:rotfl:) but I shattered our 60 gallon fish tank a few weeks ago when I was trying to clean it. Oops! Glass all over the front porch. Poor water turtle was in the bath tub for a few days. :lmao: We decided to put a 110 gallon pond in the back yard insted of buying another tank. I found a plastic pond at Lowe's for $20.00!

Yikes!! One time when DD was a little girl (around 5 or 6) we had a birthday party and I ordered U-Bake Pizzas. Well DH had spilled a bit of grease in the bottom of the oven and didn't clean it up or tell me. So I preheated the oven and all of the sudden smoke and flames are everywhere!:scared1:

I had to grab the fire extinguisher and put the flames out. I must say all of the little girls at the party were very impressed and obviously entertained by this. :rotfl: Anyway, then I had a huge mess in the oven of dried fire extinguisher powder. Had to go to the neighbor's and borrow her oven to cook the pizzas.:rotfl2:

Hmmmmm....does this mean I can send an anonymous FedEx package full of guppies and snails to Sarah's house? DS has a 10 gallon tank and they are multiplying like crazy!:lmao:

I read the fine print.. not valid at water parks. I plan to sign up and then we will have vouchers just in case the San Diego trip works out.:cool1:

Lucky duck on the gift cards, you earn those considering how hard you work and your dedication to the company. :goodvibes

You likely already now this....

Keep an eye out for coupons... slickdeals has an ongoing thread for the 15% off survey coupon (updated monthly) for Jcpenney's.

Kohls has those buy x amount and get a coupon for your next visit, plus sign up for emails to get $5 free.

Macy's has one day sales and nice 15 to 20% off coupons (with mile long list of exclusions, ugh!). Hmm, I think they have an upcoming donate x and get a $10 coupon offer. Don't know the details. They tend to offer better deals for Macy credit card holders. A lady on my local yahoo group just bought a rice cooker/ steamer for $4 (was $60) thanks to clearance, 20% off offer and a coupon she recvd with her credit card. Impressive deal, just need to pay off the bill in full because I bet it's a really high interest rate.

Best Buy has a rewards program. (I think they've changed it up and now it's not as good.. harder to get the reward coupons. ???)

My current idea of shopping is how many register rewards and ECBs can I roll to pay the least out of pocket. :lmao: And why buy new when the thrift store is just as good.. or even better. :thumbsup2 Eloy searches thru the racks to find silk shirts that retail for $180, scoring at $5 to $10 each gives him a thrill. The man now has more clothes than I do, which is just weird! But hey, he looks good in his thrift store threads. ;):lovestruc

:scared1:

I turned the oven on and black smoke came rolling out. Darn, it needs some major cleaning. My first swipe thru to remove the glass wasn't enough to get all the splatter, must be some on the heating element. I hate cleaning out the oven, I usually convince Eloy to do it because cleaning fumes of any type give me a headache. Besides, he's really good at it!

I have certain items in mind that I want to get at those stores. I'm getting the gift cards early so I can use the coupons, take advantage of Black Friday sales, etc... Last year remember how I stretched the coupons and basically got twice as much as the face value? Well that's my plan this year also.:thumbsup2

I hate cleaning ovens too, that's why I have a self cleaning oven.:thumbsup2

You could...but they would be a quick snack! Our Red Eared Slider (water turtle) is about 8 inchs around. DBF's sister had a tiny water turtle, about one inch, and put it in our tank because she didn't want it any more and our turtle ate it. :scared1:

We are trying to figure out Christmas presents now.. Alex did really good detailed lists for both him and Mikalah. Not to much on them, and nothing to spendy. We are thinking about giving each kid a DS for Christmas. MAYBE. If we can swing it. I dont think Kaylee can handle it, but Frelan does. We shall see. The babies arent getting much, they are to little to care about all that. The papers and boxes are enough to get them excited. :lmao:

I told DH.. he replies "that's........(long pause).. disturbing"

"and creepy"

:lmao:
You have a cannibalistic turtle. :rotfl2:

Good morning!!

Man you guys and exploding food and ovens!! :scared1: I had stuff melt, and one time a casserole broke, and that was about it.

Megan, I'm sorry about your sleep deprivation. I can't stand that either. I hope you can get some help this weekend from Frelan. Then go out in your van and sleep without all the interruptions. :goodvibes

So Bernice...........did you watch your Sister's kid after all of that excitement? :rolleyes1

Alison, I love your "shopping verses cooking" statement!!!:rotfl::laughing:

Sarah, your "I don't cook" statement was pretty funny too!:rotfl:

I see a pattern here. Especially when some children are fed brownies for dinner!!!:laughing:

Have a nice day ladies and Albort if you are lurking!!! :flower3:

Albort has his own radar, popping put of the blue whenever mentioned. Mad skillz there Albort. :thumbsup2

Hey Melody, loved the recap. :cutie:
Yep, I watched the kidlets.. yawn... My booty is a draggin now. The IEP meetings took much longer than planned, not surprised.. happens every time.
Went out to lunch together, after that it was too late to run over to the school to help Eloy and his ongoing mess. He found yet another classroom full of science supplies in a non-science setting, he dragged two carts up to his room (stuff that had been stored on the carts for a few years) and still has to go through the cabinets to pull the remaining supplies out. Lots of broken, damaged and dirty equipment... oh joy more to toss.

Eloy with his ongoing sarcastic something will go wrong attitude said "ya, I get it all organized and they move me to a new school next year.. where I need to organize another mess "

Me, also of high sarcasm... "But dear... you know practice makes perfect." :lmao::lmao::lmao: :flower3:

I believe that Albort does a search of his screen name, then pops on whatever thread happens to mention his name. I have had a suspicion about this for a long time. Am I right Albort?:lmao:

You know what, every time I post something I'm going to put his name in it, just to throw him off.:rotfl2: We should all do this.

So what is everybody doing this weekend? I'm thinking about getting a flu shot. I wonder if ALBORT is getting a flu shot also?;)

Hmm?

I was just going to post that Kaitlyn probably has the Swine flu. Kept her home from school today, and her temp rose so I called the doctor and he said all of her symptoms sounds like it.:sad2: So she just took her first dose of Tamiflu.

I'd appreciate your thoughts and prayers for her.

Melody
