I love those kinda shows. They are very interesting, learn lots of new things. Not to mention that it makes those of us with medical problems feel not so bad about our situation.

I like the Mystery Diagnosis type shows, it's intriguing how the symptoms evolve, doctors give wrong diagnosis or ignore the problems.. then it turns out to be this rare disease that is easily treated by a specialist. But things like botfly larvae growing in a person's head?? ewwwwwwwwww!

A while back when we got out black and white kitty named Katie I had entered her photo in to a contest and they picked her as one of the winners!

Oh wow! Congrats! That's a nice surprise to find on your door step.

You should submit photos of your two new kitties too.

Is it slow this summer?? When So Cal APs are no longer blocked in August I bet it will be crowded again. Then you will change to "I'm so tired" , think of it as a nice little break in the storm.

Right!! No DL for me for I dont even know how long. Maybe Ill be able to head off for a weekend when we arent so broke. Maybe one of my hyena friends will go with me. But not until the babies are bigger.. Dh would have a stroke if he had to stay home with all the babies by himself.

Sooo... I guess Frelan got tired of me being a raging you-know-what because I havent been sleeping. He took the babies when he got this morning and told me I HAD to get some sleep. I usually make him leave the door open when I sleep in.. so I can "supervise" what is going on.. I will wake up if a baby is crying, or the kids are repeatedly asking for food or something.. He shut the door and told the biggers they were NOT to go in, no matter what. I slept until 11. OMG. I feel like a million bucks! FINALLY. I got some sleep.

.... worship and adore.. now that's a man who knows how to show his love and caring.

I was "adored" this morning, woke up to E massaging my feet.. which progressed ....

We then took J to take his permit test, did some shopping, went to Sonic for dinner (just opened here).. we gave it a "eh" maybe just for a snack or ice cream. The food wasn't that good. On the way back home we had J's first driving adventure, in an empty parking lot. Round and round in a big circle "he's making another right turn.." Took a stab at parking between the lines, hard to go wrong with the very generous sized slots. He did manage to bump hard against the concrete parking bumper. Lesson learned to apply the brakes when rolling forward.

More parking lot adventures planned in the morning. Then off to watch Harry Potter.

I'm broke too! Too many adventures and too many hopsital bills! Although I now have all but $400 of the medical bills paid off, so next payday will be my get out of debt paycheck.

Then I am saving up money to trade in our old truck under the cash for clunkers program and get a new car or truck for DD. She will need something new and reliable for when she heads off to college next year.

Not to mention that our expensive fall months are quickly approaching. We have school clothes, car insurance, homeowner's insurance and property taxes all coming up in September-October.

Have I given enough reasons for not going to DL? I would love to go, but I think I'm in the same boat as a lot of other American's. Trying to pay the bills and build up savings before the fun.

And the fun begins. Parking lot driving not so bad, waiting up for teenager that goes to see the premiere midnite showing of Harry Potter...nerve wracking!

Good Morning Hyena's!!! Long time no talk too it was been a crazy couple of weeks. A week and a half ago they let the manager of the store I work at go... (I am technically the asst. manager, although I run it - don't want the pressure of technically being in charge). I knew about it - for awhile and it was a tough secret to keep from her. Good news is I got to handpick her replacement, and the guy is awesome!!! So now....I have a brand new GM learning his position, and two brand new shift managers (again hand picked by me) that are all just totally raw at what they are doing. Good news is they care a lot, and will do whatever, but I had no idea it would be this much work. I probably get about 2 hours worth of phone calls every day

Then the story gets crazier. They "officially" let the GM go for leaving two crew people alone in the store (something that had happened before). One of the guys (that was left alone) I have known him and his family for 2 1/2 years....had a suspended license for outstanding fines. Well, the GM and two of my employees called the cops on him!!! We are in a super small town, so they followed him home. Fortunately another employee followed too (so the cop left him alone), and the guy is smart, so he stopped driving. I loaned him the money to pay off the fines, and the next day he was pulled over. The police office told him the whole story and sat and chat with him for 30 minutes. Needless to say there has been a lot of drama.

But are you ready for the bestest news ever!!! DN and GF and DD found a place to live!!! 2 MORE WEEKS!!! Then we get our house back!!! I love my DN to death, but his GF, not so much. She told some of the people at work that she just HAS to move out because she does not want her DD to end up like our kids!!! Can you believe the nerve??? They are living here rent free!!! Last night, after we put the kids to bed, she gave the kids glow sticks! The other night she gave DD one of the pedia-milk things...and would not let her leave the table until she drank it. Told her that she didn't eat enough and she was scared that she didn't have enough nutrients!!!

OMG!!! The stupid store won't stop calling me. I have to look John up in contacts because his number appears NO WHERE in my phone!!! I can't take much more of this!!!

My new theory.. family are much more endearing when they are far far away.

Hopefully the two weeks will go by very quickly, then you can love them all the more.

Just for kicks, we cruised by a few foreclosed homes. Not in our school district but thanks to open enrollment in MN, and J being a soon-to-be licensed driver, we could consider nearby areas that are more affordable. The hard part is not knowing what is wrong with the property to warrant the low ball price (typical homes in area $100- 120, homes we looked at today $50-60). Desperation by the lender to get a buyer? Or tons and tons of work that we couldn't handle?
One house was listed as "inhabitable", peeked in the window and it was down to studs in the living room... cross that one off the list.

Another the price had knocked down by $10,000 every 3 weeks for the past few months. I think it was a failed flip. It has a MIL apt with a separate entrance.. intriguing possibility to rent out to family member (would cover about half of the house payment and would be less than typical rent for the area.. bonus for both of us!)

soooooooooo, no promises because I'm fairly sure our credit is stinky bad.
But we might as well do the footwork and see what we get.
Heee hee hee it pays to be a poor disabled Latino teacher and first time buyer right now, tons of programs to encourage us to grasp the American Dream.

The American Dream?? Ah yes, 2 cars (with matching payment books), 5 credit cards maxed out, a house that is 5x bigger than needed so you can keep up with the Joneses, all in the name of God Bless America!

My American Dream?? Sell everything and become a stealth camper.
