The American Dream?? Ah yes, 2 cars (with matching payment books), 5 credit cards maxed out, a house that is 5x bigger than needed so you can keep up with the Joneses, all in the name of God Bless America!

My American Dream?? Sell everything and become a stealth camper.

No fear, we're looking at some small houses, just enough room to house the boys ......until we kick them to the curb..... then it's plenty of room for the two of us (and any renters for the bonus money)

Yo B! Sup Girl? Was just over on the budget board, someone posted about bringing their 102yo mother to Disney and wanted to know the cheapest way to get her mattress there, because she won't sleep on a different mattress.

I can't believe people were taking it seriously! Now that's my kind of humor. Think we should invite her over to join our thread.

Something I was just pondering as I walked down our hallway at work. They had just mopped the marble and there was a yellow caution sign warning about the wet floor...of course in various languages...

Attention (English)
Cuidado (Spanish)
Achtung (German)

Now I understand the first two languages, but GERMAN??? It's not like we have a ton of German immigrants in this part of the country. Perhaps Russian might be a better choice since we have a large Russian immigrant population here.

Do you suppose that it's a factory in some other country where they don't speak English, Spanish or German and they've been making them that way every since 1911 (or whenever the last large German immigration to the US took place)?

While we're at it....why do new mirrors on autos say "Objects may appear smaller/larger than their actual size".

What the heck??!! It obviously couldn't be too difficult to make mirrors so things look normal. They did it for years and years on older cars and never had problems.

Did someone just get up on day and say "let's mess with people's minds and invent something that worsens a product"??

Inquiring minds want to know.

I love the "Alison's inquiring mind" segment, I have weird questioning moments but I tend not to voice them out loud.. it makes the teenagers nervous.

Today is a tough day...feel like crap

Okay.. we moved the crib over the weekend. How cheesy is it that I cried when I laid them down to sleep in their bed?? My last babies... and now they are in their crib sleeping without me.

If only it had lasted. They cant sleep together anymore. Vinny moves way to much. He is practically on top of her after a couple of hours. They beat the CRAP out of each other. Then they wake up.. and wake me up. Vinny is sleeping with me until I make room for the portacrib.

I love the "Alison's inquiring mind" segment, I have weird questioning moments but I tend not to voice them out loud.. it makes the teenagers nervous.

Oh, but I have so many of them. Seriously, my teenage DD rolls her eyes at just about everything I do. So I've decided to ignore her and her remarks until she has children of her own, or reaches the age of 30!

Awww...it's so sad when you move them into a crib. But seriously, so much better for you. Now you'll probably get some much needed sleep.

Just remember, your job as a parent is to make them independent young adults. This is just the first small step.

AHHHHHH!! OMG!!! Our very closest friends are having TWINS!!!!! OMG!!!! They just moved back from California after she graduated law school, and were going to wait a bit before having another baby.. SURPRISE!! SHe is having TWO!!! She called me on her way home from the ultrasound... I got to know first. Im am so freaking excited for them!!!

Busy weekend ahead for J, two parades and then he is off to band camp.

Couple of errands to run on Friday.. haircut because no hair can escape the hat, flute shine stuff from the music store.. even your instrument must be presentable, laundry and pack his stuff for camp (had to buy XL twin sheets, staying in a dorm so he needs to pack everything).

I would like to get our vision checked and order glasses online (B1G1 eye buy direct this week).

Thank goodness E is off on Fridays!

Sunday will be hectic.. load band trailer and bus in the AM, drive to parade, do parade, pack trailer again, drive back to school, everyone shower and eat at school, repack trailer yet again, drive to band camp (2 hrs) .

Luckily all we need to do on Sunday is drive him to school and wave to him on the parade route.
