The Unofficial Chatterbox Thread! Everyone is Welcome!

Last night I had a dream that Catwoman and I were chasing Michael Jackson in a night club. He zipped down a firemans pole, I followed and I went so fast down the pole it scared me. Then catwoman jumped for the pole but missed and fell to the bottom. Michael asked if she was okay and then said "Don't pretend you didn't fall because we all saw you." I woke myself up laughing so hard and then I coughed. Catwoman looked so funny when she fell.

:lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao:OMG!

I hope you feel better soon. Kaylee is sick.. and Jazzy has a cough. Just a tiny one.

Hi guys!

If I see those freaky things running around my house...well lets just say Alison Wonderland will end more like Bambi!

I'm a cheapskate, I order mine from Costco.

Whoda thunk it, but we all have something in common. Disney checks!:lmao:

I've got Tinkerbell on my checks (even though I pay everything online.:rotfl:) I ordered them online thru WalMart.

You have GOT to be kidding me. My husband sent me an email.. His work is giving out free turkeys. I am roasting gigantica in the oven right freaking NOW! What the devil will I do with another turkey?? :lmao::lmao:

How come you are already roasting a turkey this soon?

That's neat that Sarah might be able to see you guys in February. I wish I could, but I know I can't swing it.:sad1:

:lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao:

I admire your imagination.

:cutie:

My bout with the flu started with a cough, sore throat and "hit by a truck" feeling. The fever didn't start until a few days later. Week later, still coughing.. ugh! Hope you feel better soon.
Ugh I hope I don't get a flu. I've been sick since Thursday and I don't THINK I have a flu. It really is the strangest cold I've ever had so it's either a scotland brand cold or I have something else. I'm going to the doctor today, I hope they can do something about my sinus pain. If my fluids weren't clear I would be sure I had a sinus infection but they're clear as can be.

Aww, I feel so bad for the little ones when they get sick. And then I feel bad for the parents when the babies won't stop screaming.

I was reading a thread on the community board, I didn't know you weren't supposed to feed your babies baby rice until about 6 months. My friend has been feeding her baby baby rice since three months old, the baby has just turned 6 months old and my friend is feeding her baby food and anything that the baby can mush with her mouth (but I think that's normal for 6 months right??). This baby has major stomach problems and is the size of a behemoth. Biggest 6 month old I have ever seen, she looks like she should walking. I wonder if thats why.

I started rice cereal with the twins at 4 months.. But I stopped it fairly quickly in favor of regular baby food. Rice cereal was very constipating for them.. Babies that cant poop are very CRANKY babies!:lmao: We have no tummy troubles here.. My babies ate a full on Thanksgiving dinner last night. YES. Thats right.. I got so excited Thanksgiving was coming.. I had to do mine early!:lmao: As long as she isnt feeding her junk food, she is probably fine. I have BEASTLY huge babies. Kaylee was a BEASTLY huge baby. But Alex was a teeny little guy. Well.. average, but teeny to us!:lmao:

Hi everyone. I'm sick  A few days ago my lungs felt kinda warm, like when you're running but I ignored it and went to the gym. On the way home I felt for sure something was wrong. By the time I got in the house every part of me hurt. Then the next few days my whole body was sore, I had a cough and my lungs felt like I had been running too long.

finally last night I had some really spicy chicken from the chinese restaurant and my chest felt normal! :thumbsup2 But then I woke up this morning and I feel all stuffed up again. I have no energy to walk to the doctors but this is the strangest cold I have ever had. I assume it's a cold because I don't have a fever so shouldn't be a flu.

Sorry you're not feeling well. I suggest you call the doctor right away and see if they think it's the flu. Our doctor told us if anybody got sick to call right away and they will get us some Tamiflu. Even if you do get swine flu, the Tamiflu will diminish the severity and odds are you won't end up in the hospital.

Now about your dream.....are you sure you are don't have a fever?:rotfl2:

You have GOT to be kidding me. My husband sent me an email.. His work is giving out free turkeys. I am roasting gigantica in the oven right freaking NOW! What the devil will I do with another turkey?? :lmao::lmao:

Make some turkey gravy with the drippings, then cut up turkey and put into the gravy. Freeze in quart or gallon size freezer bags. The gravy will keep the turkey moist and it won't get freezer burn, so it lasts a long time.

Plus all you have to do is grab a bag out of the freezer and voila! Dinner is halfway done. Zap in the microwave and pour over mashed potatoes, noodles or toast.:thumbsup2

DANG! I remember the good ol' days when we actually had turkey leftover for more then one day.

I started feeding my babies a bit of rice cereal when they were about 6 WEEKS old. Cut a big slit in the nipple, added a bit to their formula bottle right before bed, helps them get a full tummy and sleep thru the night.

Personally I quit reading all those parenting books. Of course now it's all internet information. I say do what works for your family.:thumbsup2 As long as the child is happy and the parents are happy, nobody is getting hurt or neglected...do what you want.:thumbsup2

My kids both started eating baby foods and regular mushy foods at around 4 months or so. I even bought a ricer and ground up our regular dinner foods (unless they were too spicy). No use giving a 6 month old heartburn from my tacos!:rotfl:

I don't really think there is a right or wrong, just do what works and is within reason. If she takes her baby to the doctor, then she will obviously know if the baby is overweight for it's age. Trust me the doctors tell you at every visit where the baby falls in the height & weight category. So she either knows about it (and chooses to ignore) or the baby is fine and is just a chunk!:rotfl2: My daughter was a chunky, round baby, she's now fairly thin. My DS was a skinny, scrawny baby and still is that way. I don't think I fed either of them any differently.:confused3

I'm lovin' going to the gym. I went for30 minutes on Sunday, and an hour and 15 minutes last night and it hardly felt like I did anything. My abdomen is a bit sore today, but nothing bad. For now I'm concentrating on cardio and not doing a lot of strength training. I have a lifting restriction for both my left arm and my abdomen. No use giving myself a hernia or getting lymphedema and having my arm swell up to the size of an elephant leg!:lmao:

A bunch of women on my twins boards have been using a Jillian Micheals exercise video.. Turns out i have it on demand.. I have been thinking about trying it out. I even watched it for a bit this morning. But I was so tired I drifted off during it.:lmao: Maybe tomorrow.. Or even tonight when everyone is asleep.

I always love sitting and watching exercise videos, especially while having a bowl of ice cream.:rotfl2:

I'm doing really good on the recumbent bike and treadmill. But I swear that eleptical machine thing is going to kill me!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was gasping for breath after about 5 minutes. DD was on the one next to me and had been on it for about 20 minutes and wasn't even breaking a sweat. She looked at me with that disgusted teenager look, like I was embarassing her or something.:lmao:

:lmao::lmao: I know! HUH!! I was laying on the couch watching it.. and Kaylee was like..:confused3 What are you DOING!! Even she knew something wasnt right! I told her I didnt want to risk stepping on a baby. ;):lmao:

:lmao::lmao: My husband WILL NOT do them. He isnt coordinated enough, and is always getting tangled up on them. I LOVE them! Not that I have done it in over a year or anything, but when I did, I was kicking booty.. and loosing weight. Then THEY had to show up. :sad2::rotfl2:

Since everybody was sitting around procrastinating, I decided to be the first!

I JUST BOOKED MY AIR RESERVATIONS!!!!

I decided to come down on Wednesday night and spend the extra miles and go thru Portland (sorry Megan!).

I leave on a 7:30pm flight (so I can leave after work) and I get in at 9:50pm on Wednesday night.

The flight home is Sunday at 2:10pm, so I get to sleep in, and have time to stroll thru DTD before leaving. WooHoo!:woohoo:

Next plan...HOTEL!! I will wait until next week to start looking at hotels, pls my bosses credit card awards post around the 20th of the month. So hopefully I can get 1 or 2 more Marriott cards. Then time to make decisions.:thumbsup2

:cool1::cool1: Woohoo!! Im making mine on Friday.. I still need to give Dh the days so he can take some time off work.

I haven't checked for a few days to see if miles have posted yet. I actually have no clue when the "price" will change. But I'm nervous that the lowest mile awards will be gone if I wait too long. :worried:
Maybe this weekend I will have Eloy transfer some miles ($40 fee) and then I will lock in my ticket (likely Wednesday morning to Sunday noon).

Truth: I've been feeling wishy washy about the trip .. just freaking out over paying money when I know we have been a bit tight in budget.

But Eloy tells me "you're going, don't worry about it" but? but? but? Are you sure?? He glares at me... "yes, you're going"... okay, fine... whatever you say sweetie:flower3:

I read an ad for a new type of Enfamil that is made to thicken in the tummy to encourage baby to sleep longer. Kinda laughed because isn't that the point of doing the thinned out rice cereal?

In other countries its perfectly normal to feed baby whatever the family is having.. so yes in India young babies have spicy curries with no fears. There are a few high end baby food companies that make frozen meals that we wouldn't normally expect in baby food.

Mama Mia ™
Butternut squash, zucchini, quinoa pasta, parmesan cheese & sage make for a balanced meal. A giant step beyond mac n' cheese, our Italian pasta dish is sure to have your little one singing an aria.

Bollywood Baby ™
Indian cuisine got it right from the start. Lentils, carrots, parsley & cumin make for a nutritious and palate-pleasing meal.
Salaam, baby!

I did go to the doc, I have an old fashioned cold. I made sure she listened to my lungs and they're clear. I guess it's just a strange cold. I am starting to feel better just a bit stuffed up.

Glad to hear that my friend is not harming her baby. I was worried that if she was feeding her all this stuff that the child might grow on to have stomach troubles the rest of her life but it sounds like its actually fairly normal. Thank goodness I don't have kids, I would believe everything I read :rotfl:

I've heard that it's good to feed your babies an assortment of food so they aren't picky eaters when they're older. Those foods sound so gross to me, lentils, butternut squash bleh.

Im glad you have just a regular cold!!

Its so true! Alex was REALLY exposed to tons of different foods when he was little. (really little) We ate all kinds if different things. Sushi.. all types of asian foods, mexican, italian, Indian, anything and everything we could find. And now the boy will eat ANYTHING. and he really will try anything at least once, and we know if he says he doesnt like it.. He really doesnt like. Which is rare, he loves most everything! Im talking REAL sushi.. Not just California rolls. He will eat full on nasty stuff that I wont touch with a ten foot pole!

Kaylee didnt have the some exposure as a babe, and wont eat ANYTHING. She likes hot dogs, fries, chicken(sometimes), mac-n-cheese, and noodles. Seriously.. anything else she clamps up and wont eat it. Really frosts my cookies I tell ya! Usually, if we can at least get her to try it, she loves it!

We gave Justin refried beans as a toddler.. he won't eat them now.
But he is more adventurous now then his "heck NO I won't eat that and you can't make me" brother. Noah always had instant likes and dislikes even as a young baby, he's still picky at 13 and now I figure that's just how he is wired. He's always been one that is slow to warm up, doesn't like changes in routines... though in the last year I have seen him blossom into a more adventurous person, very sociable and outgoing.
