Sorry you're not feeling well. I suggest you call the doctor right away and see if they think it's the flu. Our doctor told us if anybody got sick to call right away and they will get us some Tamiflu. Even if you do get swine flu, the Tamiflu will diminish the severity and odds are you won't end up in the hospital.
Now about your dream.....are you sure you are don't have a fever?
I started feeding my babies a bit of rice cereal when they were about 6 WEEKS old. Cut a big slit in the nipple, added a bit to their formula bottle right before bed, helps them get a full tummy and sleep thru the night.
Personally I quit reading all those parenting books. Of course now it's all internet information. I say do what works for your family.

As long as the child is happy and the parents are happy, nobody is getting hurt or neglected...do what you want.
My kids both started eating baby foods and regular mushy foods at around 4 months or so. I even bought a ricer and ground up our regular dinner foods (unless they were too spicy). No use giving a 6 month old heartburn from my tacos!
I don't really think there is a right or wrong, just do what works and is within reason. If she takes her baby to the doctor, then she will obviously know if the baby is overweight for it's age. Trust me the doctors tell you at every visit where the baby falls in the height & weight category. So she either knows about it (and chooses to ignore) or the baby is fine and is just a chunk!

My daughter was a chunky, round baby, she's now fairly thin. My DS was a skinny, scrawny baby and still is that way. I don't think I fed either of them any differently.
