Eating gummies with fingers, dipping them in salt, and then hi-5ing people never crossed my mind! Probably because I am not a fan of candy, so gummies are out for me as a fuel source on the run. I use either honey packets or a gel instead, so my fingers don't touch my fuel source as it enters my mouth.This is actually why I havenāt convinced myself to use BASE salt. Ha. Also why I usually donāt hi-5 people during races. I have to eat my gummies with my fingers! I donāt want other peopleās germs that have already hi-5ād how many other runners licking their fingers using BASE saltā¦
Most things like this, I convince myself not to think about and not to worry about.
Like you, I've convinced myself not to think about things, such as the port-a-potty. Those things are bad during a half or full marathon, but way worse during a 70.3 or full Ironman. I just had to get that out of my headspace in order to survive the races!
