Ok, so as I am planning my trip (1.5 years in advance, haha ) I keep coming up with questions that I want to ask but don't think deserve their own thread so I figured this could be a thread where someone asks a question and can get an answer without cluttering up the board. I believe this will allow for a compendium of knowledge in one place.

(If this is a stupid idea just let me know, mods can delete it)

My question:

I checked the prices and the WDW Tickets online were 54.20 per day for a 5 day, park-hopper option ticket with a grand total of $272.00. When I checked the Undercover Tourist prices they were $274.00.

What would be the benefit of paying an extra $2 for a third-party website?

No advantage to paying an extra $2. But are you sure the price you are quoting for the 5 day tickets include tax, because Undercover Tourists prices always include tax and free shipping. If you get the Mousesavers E-newsletter there will be a link to Undercover for another discount. Good luck!!!

Here's my question:

Now that TSM is so popular during the first hour (actually it sounds like all day) is TOT and RNRC less crowded right at park opening? I want to ride TSM, but I love TOT and RNRC and if they are less crowded it might be better to enjoy them.

Thanks.

I think your thread is fun!

I don't see a benefit for buying them else where. Have you looked into any package deals with Disney?

Most likely it's the taxes..they're included at undercover but not on the disney site!! Mousesaver.com and allears.net are great resourses for deals. You must sign up for their newsletter for special links for better deals then offered to the general public. You have plenty of time so I would DEF do this!!:yay: Good luck. And BTW think this is a great idea!! Hope more people use it!!:woohoo:

Love this thread! Can I ask a question?

Is Jersey week crowded?[/QUOTE

I have heard mixed things on Jersey week. Never been done during this time. I am originally from Jersey (just moved out this pass year after 36 yrs.. def a jersey girl here!! :rotfl: ). Mostly I hear alot of people picking on our accent :scared1: what accent!?!?!:rotfl2: And the simple fact in we are a bit louder and faster in Jersey..so if you're not use to it it can be a little shall we say..annoying! :sad2: But if you from The Great Garden State I don't think any of things I heard negative would bother you in the slightest.. That's just how weroll in Jersey!!!!:rotfl:

Answer:

When I went to Hollywood Studios in July of 2008 I had read this boards and knew that TSM would be packed early on so I ran with my families tickets to TSM and got fast passes and decided to meet my family at RnR right after. By the time I got there my family was already up at the door to walk into the hall with the guitar columns.

Everybody in line was nice and realized I was just trying to catch up with my family. I even got applause when I vaulted over a ledge to jump over to a ramp.

Of course this amount of tourists might have been caused by the fact that it was Star Wars Weekend. Hope this helps!

Yes.

Last trip we were lucky enough to have 2 days of HS, and the 1st morning, we grabbed fastpasses, got in line, rode, and then went to TOT and RNR.

2nd day, we grabbed FPs for TSM and "walked quickly" across the park. RNR and TOT remain virtually uncrowded for at least the first hour or so. We only stopped riding RNR when the wait got to be about 30 minutes, and then we repeatedly rode TOT.

Hope that helps!

My Question:

Rope drop at Magic Kingdom: Do they let you in past the train station before the show? Or do you have to physically hang back to watch it?

Same here! I moved out of Jersey awhile ago. Still a Jersey girl at heart though! Truly, I don't mind Jersey-ans. They're my....what do you call 'em... people! :rotfl: I just wanted to know if it would be crowded and from the things i've been hearing, i don't believe it will be. Besides, if it is crowded, I'd rather the people be from Jersey! :rotfl:

I do not know the answer about rope drop but some good advice is do not get on the train to Toontown.

This past trip in 08 I looked at the closest way to get to Space Mountain and figured "hey, why not take the train to Toontown and save us some walking." Well, I did not realize rope drop isn't as early as the one at the front of the gate and we were stuck waiting there for another 30 minutes.

Another couple questions from me:

1. Does Disneyworld usually offer some sort of offer (free dining, 40% off moderate hotels, etc.) during all Value times?

2. If my party and I were to book December 31st (not value) through to the next week (which would be a value week) could we still use a free dining or 40% off coupon if it is offered? Would it only cover the value week?

SnowandMittens - You have to hang back and watch. I believe the only way you can get in is if you have an early ADR.

Cute thread.

My question: How bad are the waits for BTMRR now that SM is closed?

FYI, what you did was technically line jumping and can cause hard feelings. To avoid that problem, best to have the family wait at the entrance to the line, then all enter the line together. Just a word to the wise; no offense intended.

I do know the answer to #2.

If you START your package on Dec 31st, which is not a value season, your entire TRIP is priced at HOLIDAY pricing. We found this out back when the dining plan changed on Jan 1st, the first day we got there. We debated the cost of the app and tip included in the DDP vs. paying holiday rates for the entire stay.

I suggest making 2 reservations, one night at holiday rate, and then the rest of your package in value rates. Each time we've been during value season they've offered something... the worst offer was free PH's, but it saved us $100.00!

While waiting for MK Rope Drop, you will have already scanned your ticket and passed through security, but you'll be outside of the train station. When the show finishes, the Rope will Drop and you can scurry to wherever you want to go. If you're headed to Fantasyland and get there quickly, there may be another rope holding people back on the far side of the castle, although only for a few minutes.

My Question:

From Epcot resorts, would it be better to take the MK bus or ride the Epcot - TTC monorail and transfer to the MK monorail from there? Being a monorail fan, I'm inclined to choose that option, although I'm guessing it will take a bit longer. Thoughts?

Depends how much of a rush you're in and what time of day--it will take a *lot* longer because you'll enter Epcot at the International Gateway and exit at the front to catch the monorail. Late in the day it may be hard to walk through Epcot (crowds) and you may have to wait for a monorail at one or both places. My best guess is, assuming you take the express monorail, 45 minutes to an hour to go by monorail; 20-30 by bus.

If I were you, I'd probably still do it at least once. ;)

I was told by someone on here that Tomorrowland and Adventureland did not open until 10 am. I thought it was just the Jungle ride that opened later.

The "lands" are all open, Toontown is the only area that does not open at 9. I am not sure about the Jungle Cruise specifically.

Love this thread!

My question:
where do you park to go to the boardwalk (not the hotel but the actual boardwalk for dining and stuff)

You park at the Boardwalk Hotel - one of the few hotels they'll let you park at without hassling you about how long you stay.

My question: Anyone know what date they start making the MVMCP Christmas parade the "regular" parade at MK? I believe they do this by the 25th, but when does it normally start? Anyone with experience on this?
