Are all of the buildings in "The Springs" at SSR open yet? If so, has anyone stayed here? Did you request this section or did you just get placed there?

If they stuck by the schedule, all three should be open now.

The first opened in late March. If memory serves, the next two were to follow in May and June.

We stayed 2 nights in the Springs last week. One night at the beginning of our stay and the last night of our stay because we checked out and then decided to stay 1 more night.

We didnt request it, we requested CP but we checked in after 4pm for our first night and all they had left was smoking or HA. After a mix up with our CP room, we tried the HA room in the Springs which was really a great location, but that bed was so hard I slept on the sofa bed so we moved to our assigned room the next day. Our last night we had a really nice studio in the Springs, and I could see us enjoying that location too, but we really love the Congress Park Quiet Pool and the Springs won't have a QP because its so close to the main pool. We won't complain as long as its not smoking or HA. I'll pay the $25 to move!

All the Paddock buildings are up and most are in the later stages of completion.

The treehouse Villas have been torn down and that area will most likely have foundations laid within a month, because they were actively working on it and made quite a bit of progress just in the 2 weeks we were there.

Ok I have to ask they TORE DOWN the tree house villas or was it the Fairway Villas. We were told they took down teh Fairway Villas not the tree house ones as they couldn't due to some land use law.

Im corrected! It is the FV's they tore down, on the right side along the golf course as you pull up to the port cochere.
I always get them mixed up because they looked the same to me and the sign on DVC Way before you pull into SSR.

Oh ok I wasn't sure and it wasn't meant to point out an error in your statement I just wondered beacuase they for the longest time said they couldn't tear them down ecause of the land regulations. Sorry didn't mean to hijack the thread so you enjoyed the springs section any specific details etc you could share as we are staying there in Dec and wanted to request this area we will have a 1 bedroom.

Great!
We stayed in Congress Park during our last two visits (studios both times) but I requested The Springs (1BR) on our reservation for our next visit this December. I thought it would be nice to be in a different location and close to Artist's Palette and the main pool if we decide to use it. We really aren't looking for a DTD view or anything.

If we are placed in The Springs, is it a closer walk to the DTD path than it would be if we were in Congress Park again?

We sstayed in this section in March. We were in the building that faced the man made pond and the construction was across from us. I think we had room 45?? (4500 and something). We were the first family to use the room, dedicated 2 BR. It was incredible. Also, a very short walk to the pool, gym etc.

Next to HH, this is my favorite resort!

SSR has completed the entire path around the lake and added lighting all along the golf course path and even on the bridge so now the entire loop around the lake is lit 24/7.

DTD was my concern too about staying in the Springs, but with the added lighting, we walked the golf gourse path to DTD Westside in about 10-15 min. It may not even be that long we just took our time and goofed around :goodvibes . The Springs is closer to the golf course path and CP is closest to the Marketplace path.

Even when staying in CP we sometimes took the golf course path home right past the Springs, because we would close Disney Quest at midnight and the PI crowd was in full force. Nice quiet walk home.

The closest laundry at the Springs for studios is located across the street next to community hall. We were in that first bldg so it was a quick walk across the street.

The bridge to the Paddock is loooong and that's the only area Im a little concerned about. I love SSR and I hope that area has some extra magic and pixie dust because it will be furthest from everything! :wizard:
All the other phases look quite doable and have a major advantage such as DTD view, close to Main area, and Golf Course view. I dont know what the Paddock will offer but they need to offer something. Time will tell. :goodvibes

No problem Chuck and thanks for the clarification!

No problem I was almost in shock thinking they tore down the tree houses. Thanks for the great info on the springs we can't wait to get there and try it out. We did a tour with our guide in May when we were there we wanted to see what our recent add on looked like LOL. We love the decore of teh rooms it is by far the nicest of all the resorts we have been to in the DVC family.

We stayed in the Springs for a week earlier this month! We were able to choose which building we wanted when we checked in. We have previously stayed in Congress Park (2 times) and decided to try the Springs. We were in the building right behind the main busstop and across from the main pool.

This location was great in relation to Artist's Palatte and the Main Pool as well as the main busstop. DH was there for business so most of the time during the weekdays, it was just me and our 1 year old, so being close to Artist's Palatte and and Main pool were very nice and convenient! Plus the quick walk from the busstop was great- especially since I was toting everything myself!

We still made the walk to the Marketplace at least once a day. It was about a 15-20 minute walk for us. Of couse if was longer than the walk from Congress Park, but it was a very plesant walk so it didn't bother us at all. There was one evening it was raining and we hopped on the bus to DTD which was ok.

I agree with pp about the Loooonnnggg bridge to the Paddocks! Not sure how that will work out. I guess time will tell!

I can't remember the months exactly, but all of the Springs will be open in the next few months!
