I need advice from all of you. I received a call from my stepbrother, at the end of June we are going to spread my Stepmom's and Dad's ashes. Do you think you would bring your kids? I am torn. It almost feels as if they just died all over again.

I am sorry that you have to go through this again. Like others, I would base it on their age and their desire to attend.

Lauren - have you tried the au gratin potatoes yet?

Yes, I we like them. My Future MIL did not and her husband was partial. There is some type of spice in them that I cannot put my finger on but, yes, my family likes them. Let me know what you think. Also, let me know how the fish is...maybe Andrew and I will have that tomorrow...

I wish we could get that down here!

I feel the same way as the others. It depends on their ages and if they are old enough, I'd let them decide. My heart goes out to you though because all of those emotions are going to be so raw again.

Well round one was so good today! I made Glynis's ranch potato salad and it rocked! GLynis- you are approaching celebrity chef status in this house! We had a pasta salad with tomatoes and one puny little cuke. My whole bag that I bought on Saturday was mushy! Baked BBQ beans with beef and boring BBQ beans with no beef for Risa, lettuce and tomato. And then the burgers.

I have a Blueberry jello dessert and a "Nanatized" blueberry dump cake for dessert. BBQ chicken and the above for dinner.

Thanks all for your opinions. Having my stepmom and dad's ashes around was like still having them here sort of. I wasn't expecting to feel so sad again.

I need to save that potato salad recipe - I've NEVER made potato salad before! We always just buy it in the deli dept =)

Tonight we drove through Wendys. Lovely, huh? We were getting burned out on the leftover fajitas and the Wendys was in the Target parking lot at dinnertime when we headed home after shopping.

I did make dog treats today, though! So my kitchen was used for something =)

Kathy- my bunch was already "testing" it before I got it into the serving bowl. It was so good warm! We love kielbasa and sauerkraut and I think that this would make a great side with it.
