no cooking for me all weekend - too many parties, etc. We did grill some premade hot dogs and burgers, though.

Happy Birthday Stephanie! :)

Tonight I am making my new chili and cornbread. I can't wait!

WFD at your house?

Good Morning! We wound up going to eat at Ruby Tuesdays yesterday...so we will have the steak that I have marinating today along with baked sweet potato and tossed salad.

Have a great day!

Happy Birthday Stephanie!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY STEPHANIE!!!:cheer2: :cheer2:

We had a little drama here last night around 11pm----dh was fixing a part of our stockade fencing that had come down a bit over the winter, (it was up against our meter box) when he went to push the section back up, apparently a nail had gone crooked and when he pushed it the nail went through our main power line to the house. It sent off this bright light that lit up our entire neighborhood, let off a loud bang and then I heard dh scream...........well let me tell you I moved pretty darn quick out the door to see if he was ok.....which, thank god, he was!! We had to call an electrician (who is luckily a friend, and also the husband of a coworker of dh's too, so it will only cost us materials) He lives an hour away and told us to shut the main off to our whole house, he did a temporary fix on it until he can get the parts needed today. we had to have all new wiring put from the meter to our box----and then we have to run all new wire from the box to the point it comes into the house from the line. (that will be in two weeks as it has to be lined up with the electric company)
He said it was lucky in a way (besides the time of night, and dh almost being hurt) as the fence had been rubbing on the wires (ground wires) and they were bare and some had worn through, he said if it had snapped them all it would have sent 220 through our whole house and fried everything that was plugged in...yikes!!

sooo needless to say it was a late night to bed, with that, the errands I need to run today as this is now my Monday, and ds has karate tonight supper will be very simple
Wfd---quick and easy burgers with carrot sticks.

:cake: :bday: Have a great day Steph!!

Wendie - Thank God your DH is OK, my heart sunk when I started to read your story!

Lauren - The au gratin potatoes were really good, even DH who is very finicky when it comes to potatoes, loved them. The stuffed sole really surprised us as well, as it was also very good! So far everything we've tried frrom the Omaha package has been :thumbsup2 !! Please let me know if you see any more great deals like that!!!!!!!

Tonight I'm trying Sandy's Chicken Marsala, pasta and green beans!!

Have a great day everyone!

Thanks ya'll for all the bday wishes! Nothing big planned today. Hoping to take the kids to the pool if it doesn't rain--Lord, we saw enough rain when we were in Houston this weekend. Unless I get surprised with a bday dinner I'm making the stick chicken recipe from page 1! Have a great day all!

Stephanie - Happy Birthday!!!!!

Wendie - Thank heavens your DH and your house is ok. What a frightening time you must have had. Hope everything is taken care of today.

Tonight's dinner is Thai peanut chicken. This is by DH's request, so we will see what the kiddos think.

Gretchen

Wendie- Another "Thank God" from me. You must have been terrified when you heard him.

I don't know what is going on for dinner tonight. We are supposed to have storm doors installed tonight, and DH will not eat when someone is working here, so we'll see later on.

Morning Y'all,

We didn't have any barbecue or boil this weekend. Almost everyone worked yesterday. I did grill steak for dinner last night. Still have steak leftover, so I'll probably put it over a salad for dinner tonight.

Happy Birthday Stephanie!!!

Wendie, Thank God your DH wasn't hurt! Really scary!

Kathy, I am glad that you liked the potatoes. I think its either you love them or hate them. I heard the fish was good...maybe we'll have that tomorrow. I will definitely let you know if I hear of a deal again. Tom is always looking for bargains...he is constantly on slickdeals dot net buying stuff. :) I really like the convenience of having the stuff delivered and its packaged so nice, right? Easy for the Queen of!!! :rotfl:

Oh, Wendie!!! I'm so glad that your DH is ok!!! How scary!!!! I'm glad that it will be an easy fix for you!

Dinner tonight will either be tuna turnovers, or clam chowder. I'm trying to clean out my cupboards and refrigerators before we leave on Saturday (check out my ticker! ), so I'm hoping I don't have to go to the store. We'll see. It depends on what the kids want!!

I'm also trying out a new cookie recipe to celebrate the end of school this week. They are called Dreamsicle cookies. They sound good to me! If they are, I'll post the recipe!!!

Glynis, That definitely is something to  about!!!!

I didn't end up making the fajitas last night because the kids wanted hot dogs, so I still have all this leftover steak from Sunday's meal. I can't really decide what to do with it...fajitas, steak salad...nothing sounds too appealing right now.

Well, I won't have a lot of time to dwell on the fact that I don't really want to be eating whatever it is I end up making. Liam has baseball practice after dinner.

Well thank you all for the shish kabob ideas-since we had never done them before(wanted to try out some new PC skewers i bought and never used and we are bother doing WW-thought it may be a healthy thing to try. We just thought "what can we stab on these things and grill?" and potatoes came up! Along with the other stuff I mentioned. I will marinate and precook the potatoes (we liked them on there! along with the baste I used on them)

BTW- I WISH I'd have read this b/f seeing POTC-BECAUSE I DID NOT SEE THE PART AFTER THE CREDITS:sad1: :sad2:  . I stayed a bit reading them and half the people stayed and half left-DH was ushering me and kids out and I stopped and TOLD him "why are all these people staying?"-but we were late for a party at a friends and we left:scared1: . Going back to see it SOON!

Good afternoon WFD friends. It's been a while since I've posted, I'll have to go back and read everything I missed, but for right now I have a question...

Does anyone here make sushi? DS and I are going to try making it. Does anyone have any tips? I know I need to get a bamboo rolling mat thingy, not sure where I'm going to find one though.

Last night we had grilled teriyaki skirt steak, white cheddar shells, and lima beans (DS requested the limas :confused3 )

WFD? Another "DS request" - smoked sausage, mac & cheese, and broccoli.
