"The Official 'True Blood' Vampire Thread" ...spoilers included.

I thought last night's episode was terrible.. I mean Russel was the only thing worth watching.
Fire monster is stupid, Arlene watching her wedding.. Boring, Luna would have been healed already ( duh shifters heal quick), fae storyline is not playing out well on screen, the hate group.. Come on enough already with all the different storylines. I was happy that the girl saved LaLa though lol

Yeah there's too much going on. Its like every character is a lead with their own storyline. Most of it is completely ridiculous too. Why is there even a shifter hate group? They didn't come out to the public, did they?

I ended up fast forwarding through a lot of the storylines.

What was the preview for next week? Since the episode was really long, my DVR cut off right at 10pm and didn't record the preview.

So I was talking to a friend about this last episode and I had to totally agree with her. What's his name (Chris Maloni) authority guy isn't dead. He didn't explode and become bloody goop. He was cracking and stuff but not that slimy bloody stuff that happens after a vampires are staked.

Plus he was part of the panel at SDCC convention last week so I'm not sure he is gone.

I absolutely agree with you!! Chris Meloni IMOP is way to big of an actor to come and go so quickly but I could be wrong.

I've said it before, and I know sometimes people get tired of hearing this, but I just don't understand why they drifted SO FAR from the book story line. It was a good story line! I do understand the need to branch out rather than have the entire show be from Sookie's pov, but some of the characters and even back stories of the various supernatural groups are just different to the point of being ridiculous. I feel like they don't have a clear cannon in place and when they do, they trample over it. That makes it difficult for the viewers to suspend their disbelief.

Even still, I'll keep watching because I'm hopeful that it will turn around at some point.

I know posters didn't want this thread to becoming a bashing one, but it can't be helped. This season SUCKS! The storylines are just dumb, dumb, dumb. The Sanguinista storyline is worse than Meanads or witches. Even Russell can't keep it interesting.

I know Alan Ball likes to throw in poltical themes in his shows, but he is trying to hit us over the head with this one. He has made the show nothing but a supernatural soap opera. It would have been better to stick with a clear protagonist, Snookie. The show lacks direction now.

I know it's bad when I am tempted to even fast forward through LaFayette's storyline. The hate group is so stupid. How does the general public even know about shapeshifters or weres? Just more characters to add to any already bloated cast.

How dumb of Snookie to try to deplete her powers without finding out what other fairy abilities she might have!

I fastforwarded through the smoke monster and the wedding video.

And what a sorry bunch of vampires to gather for Lilith's blood. Ancient vampires all over the world and you have to depend on that lot? I know people have said that red head is a Sharon Osborne copy, but she reminds me of Tammy Faye Baker.

How many episodes are left? I think this season may be my last. They can't blame me for leaving after this one. :furious:

I think they had to move so far from the books because some of the most popular characters would either not be on the show or barely on the show.

He was a big actor on L&O. But the rest of his career, he played smaller supporting roles. I think he needed to be on a big hit show, as his first role after L&O, and was willing to take a smaller role, because he still gets the air time & the resume credit. Maybe that's why he talked SO S.LO.W.L.Y. :headache: He was drawing out what little role he got.

This season does suck. I have already decided when my 3 month HBO package runs out before the end of the True Blood season, I am not continuing for the extra few weeks. I am cancelling and going to find the episodes online. Even if I have to watch them with Chinese subtitles, it's not worth it to continue to pay for the show. as it is, I might not continue to watch it during the time I have the HBO package.

I just rewatched the good parts of seasons 1-4 (fast forwarding through most of the secondary plots). Roman's death looked a lot like Longshadow's to me.

I have to say, this show peaked when Godric died, although I loved some of the rest (like Russell and Talbot). Russell going on tv in season three and announcing that vampires would eat everyone, after they ate their children was amazing--both scary and hilarious at the same time. Overall, though, True Blood has gotten a little worse with every season.

For the most part, I think the secondary plots are falling flat. There are too many of them, and they involve too much random magic. The Ifrit is beyond stupid on this show. I think the more magic they bring in, the harder it is to suspend disbelief. Unlike Buffy, they don't have a Hellmouth to explain why so much supernatural stuff is going on in one location, so it just comes off as baloney.

I'll keep watching because I think Eric is a great character and wonderful eye candy. However, I'm going to continue to fast forward through most of the secondary character plots (really, Arlene's wedding video? I almost hope that was a little directorial joke on the audience--let's be obnoxious bores and show some of our wedding footage!). Makes it a 20 minute show, btw, because there is more time committed to the boring than interesting now.

For me, the only popular character not in the books that I enjoy is Lafayette. I do like Terry, but I liked his role just fine in the book even though it is severely diminished. I'm not a fan of Tara so I'd be okay with her new(essentially) character gone. That still leaves a lot of main characters with plenty of involvement and dialogue. They would also have the chance to include other characters from the books (that I enjoyed). Not that this show is all about my wants though lol.

I actually enjoyed Arlene's video. I thought it was one of the better parts of the episode for me. Kind of reminded me of early seasons before all the plot lines got out of hand!

Besides "Terry and the Smoke Monster," I'm enjoying this season. Anything is better than the Maenad story!

Best line the other night was Eric's: "It's vampire blood, we're vampires, we should be okay." Cut to Bourbon Street. :happytv:

Its hard for me to remember what exactly happened in each book, there were so many and I started reading them years ago.

I don't think Bill was in this book (or what would be this book) much. It was mostly about Sookie and the werewolves. I can't remember Erik's role, other than Sookie being worried he'd remember she killed Debbie. So Erik and Pam probably wouldn't be on the show too much either.

Impressions of tonight's episode?

I'm disappointed that Russell seems to be such a fringe character. He was my only hope in saving this season.

Don't really have too much to say since the episode was so weak.

This was actually one of the best books IMO...

Yeah, the vamps weren't big in it.

I really wanted Marsha to fight J.D.. I don't know why,but I want to see more of her!

I thought this was one of the best episodes I have seen i the last couple of seasons. (HATED the witch one)

I love Russell this season even though he is a smaller role. I think he is playing the Sanguinista. He knows what is going on. It's hilarious to me that he basically mocking them! Everytime he says something like, "Praise Lillith!" I almost lol.

Remember that this IS what he wants. He and the Sanguinista have very similar ideals...Humans are food...Chaos...Joining forces with them is a great idea!

Alcide's scene. Rewind rewind rewind!!!!!!!
I may have done that...AND I'M NOT SORRY!!!:lmao:

I enjoyed last night's episode. I like it when an actor has to portray another character playing his character (Sam/Luna/Sam) and Lafayette's possessions. We got some Lafayette sass back last night, too.

Not digging the Warlo or whatever the vampire that killed Sookie's parents.

Alcide? Yes, please!
