The Official T-Rex Cafe Thread!

Thanks for sharing!! My fiance and I are going to MVMCP in December and he is so excited to go to this place! He'll be happy to know that it was cool.

I, on the other hand, am terrified of these animatronic dinos and don't know how I'm going to stand it.

Do you happen to remember how much the Appetizer sampler was?

It was I think around 16.99 but it was definitely good. Also to let everyone know they are not taking any AP discounts until January 2009. We tried to use ours but was told we couldn't :sad2:. I don't know if it is the same with the rainforest card.

I wish I had some pics to show but it was so crowded that we did not want to be rude and interrupt people eating.

Is it similiar to Rainforest cafe? We have those here in the Chicago area. Also, would you describe it as "scary". My DD3 might be afraid if the dinosaurs are moving around a lot. I hope they add them to the ADR system.

It isnt scary. I think the way it is set up you are not at all bothered by the dinos and they are not that loud when you sit next to them. They move similar to the animals at Rainforest not sudden but nice movements. I think your kids will enjoy it and they will be too busy looking at everything to notice if it is scary.

Sorry if this is a dumb question, but did the T-Rex cafe replace the RFC, or are they both at DTD now? I ask, because the pictures look exactly like the RFC, just with Dinos instead of animals. It seems kind of strange to have 2 restaurants so similar, so close to each other. Of course it is Disney, and they can get away with things like that.
We like the RFC, but we have one here in Mexico City, so it's not that big of a deal, but I'm sure we'll have to give this place a try the next time we are there.

Unfortunatly it will not be part of the Dining Plan. Evidently it is part of a chain, I think Landry's (sp?!). I inquired way back when for our Nov 1-12 visit!!

They are both in DTD. Rainforest Cafe is on one side of The Marketplace and T-Rex is at the other side of The Marketplace (closer to Pleasure Island - by the Lego Store)

Ive seen the video on youtube and am worried t-Rex is going to be too load and scarry for my two 4 yr old girls. Hate to wait in a long line then have to leave!

Yes its on the lego side in-between Fultons and McDonalds

While the place was very well done...it was very loud
louder then the rainforest...and when the Meteor shower hits
it get louder...

We had fun...had some nice drinks and a few appetizers
food isnt anything to rave about (on par with the rainforest)
but you got for the atmosphere anyway

Do they have any cool "adult beverages" there? We're on the DDP so I'm not interested in having a meal there, probably just drinks/appetizers one day. Do you know what the hours are?

My DGD is going to be sooo excited when he goes there. I can't wait for him to see it. :goodvibes

Oh man I'm totally bummed! It is so nice to hear that you all really love it.
We went on our first trip to WDW Sept 25-29 and I had been calling and calling about that restaurant's opening. I was so sorry we missed it. My autistic son would've loved it. I got pics of him in front and I was able to slide my arm into the construction crack to get some pics. hehe. It looked so awesome!
Well...maybe someday. It would be fine with me if they bulldozed our Rainforest Cafe at Calif. DTD and put a TREX.:thumbsup2

How do you get in to eat here? I read that they don't take reservations through WDW-Dine but is there another # you can call to make a reservation or do you just show up and see if they have anything available?
