The Official T-Rex Cafe Thread!

This restaurant looks awesome! I'm going to stop in for lunch next month before MVMCP. Hopefully it won't be crazy packed!!

I attended the grand opening of T-Rex today and I was thoroughly surprised at how nice it is throughout. The food samples (all menu items) were very good (the bruschetta was FANTASTIC) and the decor is wonderful. I'd go to T-Rex over Rainforest any day.

Here is a video and some photos from inside the restaurant:

Hello, I find the Rainforest very "loud" in regards to noise bouncing around the interior, was it loud inside the T-Rex?
Thanks.

Opps, sorry, I just realized someone else asked the same question.

Well I'm very suprised that this hasn't had more reviews than what it has.

Does anyone have a menu with pricing, this is what I'm most interested in, I'm curious just how expensive this place is?

The reviews on the food so far have been fair, anyone with any food pictures?

TIA, T-REX has been talked about for months and has just kind of fizzed out anyone with another review, is it hard to eat in that room being so blue...hehe?

Thanks, we will check this out, I know it was meant for Judy, but I'm another Judi!!!

I think the most important points to keep in mind here are the fact that this is a Rainforest Cafe with Dinos, or a non-round Planet Hollywood, and the food, as in RFC and PH, is simple dinner fare. {and over-priced, I'm sure.} Nothing glorious, nothing spectacular food-wise. I think we are supposed to be mesmerized by the view and the sounds, and we are not to pay much attention to the food..............:sad2:
At least that's what the accountants are hoping. So, everyone please calm down. Thie eatery is not Disney's gift to the gourmet.
Sorry about being a downer, but we have been going to WDW for 20 years, and it is going to take more than roaring dinos during a meal to "do it" for us.

I don't know about anyone else but I think that nothing spectacular food-wise fits all of the WDW restaurants except Victoria and Alberts.

Food is not why I go to WDW. On this trip, we invited my friend and her 7 year old son to be our guests. He is why I'm excited about the T-Rex restaurant. The best part of WDW is seeing it through the eyes of a child and I think that this restaurant will be 1 more thing he'll love!

Thx for all the T-REX info, sounds so exciting!! :thumbsup2

We were hoping to get ressies in Nov., but as disneyfreak33 stated, they are only taking walk ins and I was also told ressies will start in Jan. Meanwhile we've made ressies directly w/RFC in DTD and plan on having lots of fun (noise and all ;) ) with our grands there. :goodvibes

FYI ~ DTD T-REX #407-828-8739

Just don't go to Rainforest cafe in Niagara Falls...you think WDW is expensive? try 70 bucks for 2 adults and a child just for hamburgers!! I kid you not. :sad2:

Pics look cool!! If anyone has been to the Mall of America in MN and ate at a place called Odyssey (when it was open), youd know what im saying when the pics look exactly like it!!! (excpet for the dinos).

Sounds awesome...we ate at the Rainforest Cafe for the first time in May and loved it. I am going to suggest this to my dad and sister for our trip in December! :thumbsup2

Actually we went to DTD last November, and T-Rex Cafe was giving out small samplings of the Mushroom Ravioli w/ lobster sauce that they have on the menu. It was sooo good! :thumbsup2 I was veru surprised when I did the research and found that they were associated w/ Rainforest Cafe. We dilsike RC food very much! So I am looking forward to trying T-Rex cafe.

The Rainforest Cafe Card works at all Landry restaurants. Since the T-Rex Cafe is a Landry, I was wondering if the card worked there. Anyone know?

For those who have been, how much is made of the timing of dinosaurs? Is "so many millions of years ago......" mentioned or written at all? Is it all over the place mats, for instance? My little boys would love the dinosaurs, but as a "young Earth" believer, that would be a deal breaker. If it's just written on the occasional sign that my kids can't read, okay.....I guess.....but if it's in voice-overs and everywhere.....ehhhh.

WoOohOoO! I have been waiting so long for this day to come. More pics please! My husband and I can hardly wait until our next trip to eat at T-Rex Cafe. We're definitely dino fans!

Has anyone tried calling TRex cafe to see if they will take reservations?

That is the information they are giving as you are standing in line waiting to go in...they are not even taking names and giving out beepers...you stand in line until you get in.
