The Official Riviera Owners & Info Thread

All the rooms are fairly close to the lobby, particularly the rooms on the skyliner side of the resort. I'd recommend requesting a high floor close to the skyliner.

Hi everyone… just wanted to post a word of caution for light sleepers staying in a Studio. Hopefully, this post will help others.

I typically request a high floor and no connecting door. I was placed in room 8881. This room has no connecting door, and is just outside the elevators, which I didn’t mind since it’s generally a quiet resort.

While trying to nap in my room (wearing earplugs and two sound machines running), I could hear loud banging/knocking sounds coming from the other side of the wall.

At first, I thought it was just kids playing, so I ignored it. But it continued for hours, and the banging was loud enough to hear over both earplugs and white noise machines.

I spoke with the hotel manager, and as it turns out, this room is directly adjacent to all the mechanical equipment that runs the west wing elevator. If you’re staying in the non-connecting studio room directly outside these elevators (on any floor) and you’re a light sleeper, I strongly advise a room change before unpacking and settling in. Basically any of those non-connecting studios on all floors will be adjacent to the elevator equipment.

Will they fill a resort mug with coffee for you at Le Petit Cafe? Or do you have to go to Primo Piatto?

Does anyone know if bar riva has a tv, and if so, will they play sports games? There is a big college football game my husband wants to watch Saturday night but I’m not sure where he can go anymore now that ESPN has closed.

I don’t remember seeing one there but I feel like the Ale and Compass Lounge at Yacht club has tvs? I’d double check that but if nothing else, there’s always Disney Springs.

Finally!!!! My welcome home trip is finally here. Anybody else build the RIV up so high you fear it can’t live up to what you are expecting? When we bought we loved the smell location rooms etc. can it hold up to that imagery after 51 weeks of build up.
Congrats! I love Riv. I'll be there in a few weeks myself, and really looking forward to it.
I hope it exceeds your expectations!

We’re staying for the first time next August and it feels SO far away…! Keep us posted on your thoughts so I can live vicariously…!

This is a good tip, thank you. I had a similar experience at Jambo House, and it was pretty awful. Hard to do Disney on no sleep!

I just mapped out the course if they were to construct a walking path underneath the Skyliner from Riviera to Epcot. They would need to navigate around the parking lot at Boardwalk, and build a pedestrian overpass over the waterway between France and the International Gateway.

I got just over 1 mile total distance, but that would made shorter by cutting an oblique route inside the Boardwalk parking lots.

I 100% think they should do this! Anyone else agree?

Should they? Yes.

Will they? Probably not. Guest convenience doesn't seem to be a priority for Walt Disney Parks & Resorts these days, especially when it costs them money with no return on investment. Current leadership would want their investment back somehow for the project, which would likely result in price increases elsewhere on property... that Mickey pretzel will cost you an extra $0.25.

Sorry, the BW parking lot is small enough as it is, especially after they took a chunk for the Skyliner turning station.

Actually, now that I’m looking at the satellite map, I think the oblique cut across parking you propose is across the cast member/overflow lot. I’m not sure that’s practical either.

What did you envision for crossing E. Buena Vista Dr.? A pedestrian bridge with elevators, like they have at DS? Where would you put that? A ground-level pedestrian walkway would obstruct traffic on E. Buena Vista Dr. too much to be practical, I think.

I think the most likely route would be a path following E. Buena Vista to Epcot resorts Blvd. Entering at the IG. You could continue on Buena Vista to HS. I think it would be 30 minutes to Epcot and maybe 35-40 to H.S.Not sure it would be worth it since the Skyliner is 10 minutes to Epcot unless you go at peak times.

A tiny, insignificant detail.
