The Official Riviera Owners & Info Thread

I think the most likely route would be a path following E. Buena Vista to Epcot resorts Blvd. Entering at the IG. You could continue on Buena Vista to HS. I think it would be 30 minutes to Epcot and maybe 35-40 to H.S.Not sure it would be worth it since the Skyliner is 10 minutes to Epcot unless you go at peak times.
It's in case it's storming, we can walk while dodging the lightening to get to the park.

I just mapped out the course if they were to construct a walking path underneath the Skyliner from Riviera to Epcot. They would need to navigate around the parking lot at Boardwalk, and build a pedestrian overpass over the waterway between France and the International Gateway.

I got just over 1 mile total distance, but that would made shorter by cutting an oblique route inside the Boardwalk parking lots.

I 100% think they should do this! Anyone else agree?

This was my envisionment... A walking path from the Skyliner station with an overpass to go to Epcot and a new entrance between Germany and China: https://www.disboards.com/threads/future-of-riveria.3910632/page-10#post-64642085

But alas... I don't think there's any reason for Disney to do it other than to charge much more for Caribbean Beach.

For those of you who have stayed in a Tower Studio, what are your thoughts on spending 8 nights as a couple in one of the rooms? We have 8 nights booked over Thanksgiving week (don't as me how, but I got it at 7 months) but we are having second thoughts about spending that much time in this particular room. Our alternative is to split with Saratoga (standard studio), likely as 2 at RIV and 6 at SSR. Thanks for any advice.

ETA: Disregard, we switched to a 1 BR Standard View @ BLT.

Finally completed our first stay.
We loved it and can't wait to be back in 70 days. Only complaint which is a smaller one that isn't make or break in a resort; the store is just too small. When visiting/staying at other resorts you see how much bigger of a store they have or they have multiple.

Completely random tip for the studio room (where the microwave faces the bed and the clock is so bright it lights up the room at night)…

Press and hold the number pad zero button for 3 seconds, and it turns off the clock display. :earsboy:
I wish I would have saw this lol. I ended up laying a sock over!

We just bought Riviera recently on a cruise, very excited to stay for the first time (hopefully next summer?). Oddly enough, we haven't ever stayed at the resort, but the location is fantastic and we did visit to eat at Topolino's for breakfast with our son one day this past summer. I loved the theming, my wife loved the location, it's a win-win!

Now if only I could avoid the feeling we didn't buy enough points!

Just wanted to report our first-ever stay at Riviera (a few weeks back) fantastically exceeded our expectations. My wife and I both agree it's now our favorite resort after the way they took care of our family.

Customer service was outstanding, noticeably above and beyond other resorts we've stayed at.

We also had to extend our stay due to a medical emergency and they were extremely accommodating and let us stay in the same SV 1BR villa 2 additional nights. They even comped the room for us one of those nights, and only charged us points for a SV studio the 2nd night (while still staying in the 1BR). Needless to say, we're now likely going to be extremely loyal lifetime fans/owners of the resort and will likely buy more points there in the relatively near future. 😁

Trying to plan a trip for the end of January 2025 and they still haven’t given the dates for the Skyliner maintenance! In years past when it was closed for maintenance, did riviera have their own buses to Epcot and Hollywood studios or did they also stop at CBR like they do sometimes when the Skyliner is down for weather?

RIV had its own buses. No sharing.

seems to me that deluxe resorts have smaller stores in general :(

GF has multiple shops, BW has a pretty big one, Beach Club has a small one but you can at least walk to Yacht Club easily, AK has a big one, Poly has 2, Bay Lake is attached Contemporary and they have 2. Saratoga from what I remember had a decently sized one, I am not sure about the rest though.

Saratoga seemed small to me, AK - Jambo does have a big one. Kidani is quite small. I wish Riviera had a bigger one

Yeah, it isn’t very big, but at least CBR is a quick walk and there store has a lot more stuff, especially Disney stuff!

Question for experienced owners.. do you need to walk standard RIV studios most times of the year to ensure a week long stay or only during busier times? For end of September/early October there was only 2 to 3 consecutive days available in September.

I got one for September 2025, but had to book at 8:00am as it gets booked quickly. Got my desired dates with no walk, but I was going to book preferred as plan b.
