Hi Mommies,

I don't remember the last time I had a drink but I'm tempted to try this one I saw.

Holy cow does it sound good-I love cotton candy.

I wish I could say that! But I am a flavored martini girl now, as a matter of fact I had appletinis last night. But these sound awesome FF!

I fixed the link. It should work now.

It's the pink octopus.

Gotta go get the kids from school. They don't get out until 3:15 but I want to be at the beginning of the million mile long parent pick up line.

I'll check out the link. We have a school in town like that - it's private and the line looks like an advertisement for every expensive SUV on the market. :teeth:

Okay - I would go with the Octopus based on the reviews alone! It is so cute - my only hesitation would be if the child got fussy about not being able to lie down or basically get around those giant tentacles. :teeth:

That Octopus costume is ADORABLE!

Happy Birthday LEIF !!!!! :mickeyjum

Happy first birthday to Leif! :cheer2:  :cheer2:

FF - love the octopus costume but you are very right, it is sooooo hot here on Halloween. Won't that costume be really hot on her? We bought Connor a bee costume for his first Halloween and it ended up being so hot, he wasn't in it for long!

Hello! Thanks for the b'day wishes for Leif. I can't believe he's one today!!!!

We got back late last night from our trip to Ohio. I have missed you gals tons. We are having a few people over tonight for dinner and cake so I am busting my behind to get everything organized and together. Luckily it's just two other families, but I still want things to be halfway organized LOL (we have no family around here so it's just a couple friends of the family).

I will NEVER catch up, so if I should know something, please let me know (feel free to pm me if necessary).

Thanks Ladies. Chat with you more later. For sure this weekend!

Happy birthday Leif party: :cake: :bday:

Tamie - My Old Navy got its costumes in :thumbsup2 . They are adorable. I bought Aidan the lion one (I think I'm returning the Jack Jack costume because he won't wear a mask). They also had a pirate, frog, and monkey. They were all adorable.

I thought the Labor Day sales stunk today. I did good on jeans for Emmy at JC Penny but that was it. The clothes for Alex were so ugly. He kept picking out these awful shirts with scary dinosaurs on them. He also liked shirts with skulls. He's only 6 for goodness sake! I let Emmy and Alex each do a build-a-bear for a back to school treat. I'm such a softie.

zalansky - I would be so excited to stay in a villa overlooking the boardwalk. It's going to be awesome!

Tasha - How's school going?

lissawynn - I know how you feel about Jimmy getting so big. I was looking longingly at all the newborns in the mall today. Aidan just looks gigantic. How was your first week of school? It always feels good to get that first week under your belt, doesn't it?

DH just came in so I guess I better talk to him :teeth: .

Ginamarie - hope your closing went well today! I'm so very jealous.

Robin - I'm 37, but I feel like I'm in my 20's. Except for sleep. I could definitely live with less sleep then. But I take myself less seriously now - so I'm not sure I would have wanted children too very early. Anyhow, I had my first when I was 32 and I felt like I was still WAY too young to have children. :teeth:

How do you know when the Circle of Friends sales are coming up???

Madeleine was in the hospital because she aspirated meconium. It was so very unexpected - both of my pregnancies were extremely healthy, no problems or issues at all. There were none of the reasons for meconium discharge - no diabetes, she wasn't post term, etc etc. The fluid that I saw was clear, the labor was going smoothly and she came out easily - but behind her was GUSH of dark green fluid. They cleaned her up quickly but she breathed some of it in. And off to the special care unit they whisked her. The one positive thing I can say about it all is that DH really shines in these situations. He squeezed my hand and left and was with her through every procedure she had to go through even though they were sad and painful to watch. He said later - your job (labor and delivery) was hard - there's no WAY I was going to leave the baby once *my* job got hard.

I really want to put my laptop in my bedroom - it feels a little overwhelming to figure it all out. :confused3

Bellacam - Happy Labor Day. :)

SL - enjoy your scrapbooking night!

Justhat - I spend about the same to have a tire dealership change my oil, and they have no reason at all to try to get me to buy a new car, even though mine is a 1997. pirate:

FF - hi! popcorn:: Sorry about your terrible dream. :guilty:

DH is in charge of halloween for himself and DD5 this year. She most recently wants to be a mummy, but "cute" with bows. I took care of my job - I have a Maleficent costume from last year for me, and I bought an adorable PJ from Hanna for Madeleine. I figure she'll be asleep for most of it anyhow.

Lissa - loved the pics! Hope the stomach problems get better. What kind of laptop do you have?

Hey Nucpharm! I have to finally ask - where did you get your dis name?

Zalansky - loved your story! I wouldn't know Pinella from a Baldwin Brother.

:teeth:

Hi Gals~

I have to say that I am lucky too in that DH has no interest in sports; nor gaming of any type really, except maybe poker and blackjack, but only very casually. He likes his news and history programs, and gun stuff. He likes to take the boys to the minor league hockey games once in awhile though.

So busy today here! I'm behind!

Happy 1st Bday to LEIF! :cheer2: I'm glad you made it back safely Alison, and I hope that your party with your friends is fun tonight!

Z- so jealous of your Boardwalk stay! You know we want to hear trip details when you get back!

FF- I'm sorry you had such bad nightmares last night. I had weird dreams too, but not bad ones. I hope you are able to find something in Miami! That sounds like fun! I will check out the costumes later~~

SL- LOL about Lucas running in to the room with the theme music on. I watch As the World Turns almost daily, and my kids will hum the music at the halftime part. DH would DIE if he heard that!

Sam even said the other day, "You need a TV on your bedroom wall Mom, so you can lay in bed and watch your soaps." What a good son. :rotfl:

JD- have fun in NOLA!

Fab- scary about the meconium! It's good to have DH's who step up to the plate, isn't it? DH stayed with Josh (#2) the whole time he was whisked away for huffy breathing and then bouncing sugar levels. I was so sad to have him in the nursery and me all alone in my post partum room, but DH was great. He likes to tell the story of the nurses cheering in the NICU when they weighed him and were amazed he was a Vag birth with no problems- (he was over 11#). Anyway, I'm glad she's OK.

Regarding Gymboree, I subscribed to a board called Gymbohaven, and they always get the scoop on upcoming sales several weeks beforehand. They also get sneak peeks of the new upcoming lines before it's on the website because their major store in San Fran gets the new lines 2 weeks early. So the San Fran area ladies shop and take pictures of what they buy. It's fun to be 'in the know'.

Hi Joats! Glad you will be around posting with us this weekend!

Bellacam- hope you have a great time on the island!

We went to Costco this AM as a family (DH has today off too) and then I had yet another pedi at Coldwater Creek. My 3rd pedi in 3 months- I'm so spoiled! But no more for awhile....it's so spendy. This was my reward for selling all those costumes on ebay last month. I just know what I'm asking for for Christmas- gift certificates! Then I walked around the shopping area by myself for a bit. What heaven! I looked in some kid/baby boutique type stores. Thank GOD one of them wasn't there when I was preg with Molly- just gorgeous stuff, but VERY spendy. More than PBK. But they had the neatest toys for kids, at not much more than Toys R Us, but so much more unique. I'm def shopping there for Christmas gifts. I'm tired of all the plastic junk my kids get 5 tons of each year.

Well, I need to finish up some laundry. Not sure what we're doing tonight. Can't wait for Benihana tomorrow- the shrimp is calling my name! :listen:

Hi everyone!

Rain, rain, go away! Today was torrential downpour when we went to the open house at the kids school. It was great to see the teachers and it looks like the girls will have wonderful year. Their teachers are so nice too (I actually took classes with Meagan's teacher) and they said that anytime I need help with school or want to come in and do a project with students than I can come on in. That was very sweet of them. :goodvibes I really love the kids elementary school and hope to be working there one day soon.

Good news with John too. He is finally sitting up on his own! Woo Hoo! :woohoo: The doctor said that if he didn't sit up unassisted soon than he would have to be re-evaluated for EI services. He is also getting teeth which is a first for my kids. :thumbsup2 The girls didn't get teeth until they were at least a year old. :teeth:

I hope that everyone has a great Labor Day weekend! The rain is supposed to clear out of here tomorrow so at least Beauty and the Beast won't be a wash out.

GLT - Welcome back! I hope that Leif has a great birthday party this weekend!

Fabumouse - I guess that I am both an old and young mom. I had my first at 27 and my last at 37. :goodvibes In my mind, I feel young but my body is telling me that I am old. ;) :lmao: I'm actually starting to get arthritis in my hands and knees which is a bummer, but not surprising since it runs in my family.

Robin - Ahhhh....pedicures! That sounds heavenly! I'm so glad that you were able to get one b/c you deserve a little pampering.

Tasha - How is school going?

I know I am missing a bunch of you and I apologize. I'll try to catch up with everyone tomorrow. I'm pretty beat and need to get back to reading. :wave2:

SL- LOL at Lucas dancing to the TV theme songs. I just imagined him getting all excited at the GH themesong and it cracked me up!

Joats- We bought in Huntington Station.. it’s only about 20 minutes from my parents’ house, but it’s Suffolk County, so it just FEELS further.

DisKim- They actually decided to do another season of 7th Heaven. They cancelled it and then the CW changed its mind. I watch that and Gilmore Girls too. DH is always making fun of the way they talk on Gilmore Girls, so I have to watch it while he’s not around. :)

Lissawynn- The fair sounds like fun. I love fair food. It’s overpriced and unhealthy but it tastes so good!

Zalansky- Yay for nice older men paying for your night out (even if it made your DH a little jealous). My DH would be the same way.

T16Gem- the ball pit sounds cute.

GLT- Happy Birthday to Leif! I’m a little late, but it’s still 9-1!

FloridaFam- I love both costumes, but my vote is for the octopus. It’s so different and adorable.

Jill- Looks like all the rain you got today is finally reaching us and will probably hamper some of tomorrow’s moving.

Luckily, we moved a LOT today (all of the boxes I packed so far). The closing went SUPER-fast. We were done in an hour, when most closings in NY take 2-3 hours. Everything was just completely amicable. Then DH and I came home, got changed, loaded up all the miscellaneous family members into as many cars as we could fill and went to the house. We spent a lot of time unloading the cars and starting to unpack the kitchen and bathroom stuff. I love all the cabinets in the kitchen. It’s so much better than the kitchenette thing we have now. It looks like things may go faster than I originally thought, since we might be able to move some furniture tomorrow.

Olivia seems to like the new environment. There are lots of new things to look at, like the mural in her bedroom and the ceiling fans, and she can actually look out of windows since we’re not stuck in a basement anymore! Dad was nice enough to pick up a few pizza pies, so we all had a bite to eat, though we’re using a couple of folding chairs for now because we haven’t moved the seating in yet. Then we headed out to Home Depot and K-Mart. We got the paint for the bedroom and the kitchen, and mom splurged for an automatic paint roller. We’re going to test it out for her before she starts repainting the rooms in her house. Hopefully it will make things go faster. At K-Mart we were able to pick up a vacuum cleaner and a broom (two things I could have used today), though I forgot to look for a shower curtain rod and some hooks, which we need for the downstairs bathroom. I really need to make a list of things we have to pick up!
OK, it’s getting late and I’m completely exhausted, so that’s it for me.

Morning everyone. I was awake at 6, and that's entirely too early in my book. Jimmy is still sleeping, so that's a good thing. I think I may try to scrub the bathroom before he wakes up. It's gotten rather gross b/c I've had no ambition to clean anything this week. My house looks like it's been tossed.
The weather here is gloomy and windy. It's supposed to rain and be windy all day today. I'd really like to get to Old Navy and see what they have in the way of maternity clothes. I've given up on wearing my clothes, even my "fat" stuff. The pants just don't fit and are terribly uncomfortable. I also have to get the present for the bday party on Mon. She also likes Strawberry Shortcake, which I LOVED as a little girl. One of my friends had ALL of the dolls (she was an only child) and I was so jealous of her. She also had a dad who was a total s**t, so I think that's why her mom bought her everything.

Ginamarie - Congratulations on starting the move. I can't wait to see some pics when you get settled.

Jill - I'm glad your open house went well. I loved elementary school, but I know I don't have it in me to teach that age level.

Alice - Your pedis sound so relaxing. I'm going to be treating myself sometime soon. I just have so much going on right now that it's impossible to schedule my relaxing time.

fabumouse - I have a Dell Inspiron laptop and really love it. I know I'm going to have to upgrade it soon, but it's perfect for surfing at home.

DisKim - The first week went pretty well. My kids are good for the most part, but my two afternoon sections are very chatty. I know I'll be moving seats very soon. Also, it doesn't help that they're coming to me right after lunch. When is your first day? Btw, anytime you want to hold a newborn, give me a call after Feb. 14. You can hold the new baby while I nap!

GLT - Nice to have you back! Hope last night's party went well!

floridafam - I love the octopus costume. Jimmy was a bee last Halloween and it was nice b/c it was cold and his costume was nice and warm.

Hi to all our moms! I'm gonna get started cleaning up my messy house!

Good morning. It's windy and rainy here too but we don't really have any plans. I want to go to Target and maybe the mall. I have to go to a wedding at the end of Sept and I wanted to get a new dress.

Scrapbooking was fun and I finished the project I was working on. The next time we get together will be sometime after our WDW trip so I'll start working on scrapbooking our trip then.

floridafam - My vote is for the octopus. How cute!

glt - Welcome back. I hope the party went well last night.

fabumouse - How sweet of your DH!

Alice28 - Have a good time at Benihana. My friend and I share the same birthday and her DH's bday is a couple days after so a bunch of us are going to a Benihana type place on Friday to celebrate. No kids!

llij - Congrats to John on sitting up!

ginamarie - Congrats on the closing. Good luck moving in.

lissawynn - I have a Dell Inspiron too. It's not one of the ones affected by the battery recall, but it overheats a lot and that's what fried my hard drive a few months ago. Does yours have that problem?

Have a good day, everyone.
