Good morning moms.
Ginamarie: The traffic in Suffolk Cnty is pretty bad (Isn't all LI traffic?) I think. Huntington St. is nice though - I've been there. Glad you have started the move.
nucpharm: Have a fun girls morning of eating and shopping - sounds wonderful!
SL: Glad you enjoyed your scrapbooking. Yes, the weather here is awful isn't it. It's so chilly too! Good luck finding a dress.
Lissawyn: I had good luck with Old Navy maternity when I was pregnant - I hope you can find something.
Jill: Way to go John!! :cheer2: Congrats to him on sitting up on his own. That is wonderful news!
Fabumouse: I had Jace at 33 and I am 35 now. I am so jealous that you feel like you are in your 20's :) I've been feeling old lately physically, because I need to lose some more weight. My mind is 20's but my body isn't - :rotfl:
Robin: Have fun at Benihana!
DisKim: Glad you got the costumes. What a nice treat for the kids - Build a bear. :goodvibes
GLT: Hope the party last night turned out well and that Leif enjoyed his special day.
Floridafam: another vote for the adorable octupus costume.

Our lunch yesterday was fun. Last night DH and I started to watch Memoirs of a Geisha. It's good, but long and so we will have to finish the rest tonight as I was too tired to finish last night. It's so crappy out today - I dread leaving the house but will head to Carters to find a few t-shirts and things for Jace. Nothing big here on our end.
Enjoy your Saturday!
:)

Kim- I meant to say what a nice mommy you are for treating the kids to Build A Bear. That's always so much fun....I hear you about the scary shirts for boys- I hate them.

GM- glad you got so much accomplished yesterday! I hope the electric paint roller is a help and gets the painting done quickly. I think the most I have ever spent at Target is when we moved into this house- you just need so much stuff it's overwhelming!

Joats- Hope you are able to get out and go shopping today. Sorry the weather is crummy.

Jill- YAY FOR JOHN FOR SITTING UP! :cheer2: :dance3: That's so great! And teeth too! Wow!

Z- that is so funny about Lou Penilla and Co. paying for your appetizers and drinks!

SL- good job on getting some scrapping done. I keep thinking about it, but I haven't gotten my stuff out since, oh, mid July or so. I have my whole pile of SeaWorld and DL pictures waiting for me.

lissa- I hope you can find time to schedule a pedi or something soon. You definitely deserve it! I'm trying not to be a baby and be sad that financially I should not splurge on another one for a few months. the one I got yesterday was $65.... :faint: :faint: but I have to say that Coldwater Creek does such a fantastic job it's worth every cent. The other place I got a pedi at was an Aveda spa, and while they did a good job the environment was noisy, hectic, the chair was hard....I have to say it again ladies, if Coldwater Creek Spa comes to your area GO GO GO. They have these zero gravity chairs for a pedi, put a heated neck wrap on you, an eye pad for your eyes, the ladies who work there don't sit there and chat non stop, everything is quiet, soothing, with kind of soft music playing in the background, dimmed lights. There is a package that includes a body scrub/massage, and a mani/pedi for about $220....I'm already telling DH I want that for my birthday. And my bday is in April! :rotfl: :rotfl: Nothing like planning ahead!

nucpharm- I hope you can get some Cherry Pie! My store is almost out and I wanted to buy some more of it- apparently it was THE hot seller this fall. Of course I only bought 2-3 pieces of it (thinking of resale value on ebay next year). Oh well! It's darling and post a pic of Emma in it if you get a chance.

Anyway, I need to tidy up quickly before we have to head out to a bday party.

TTFN!

lissawynn - I cracked up at your comment about holding the baby :rotfl2: . I'll certainly come hold the baby for you while you sleep :teeth: .

Jill - I'm so happy John sat up for you!

Robin - A pedicure sounds wonderful. I've been doing them myself lately and that is no fun at all.

It is really ugly out here so I'm trying to get my house in order. It is never in order so I don't know why I bother. Emmy and Alex are watching Chitty Chitty Bang Bang which seems to be 4 hours long. I lost my patience to sit and watch it after 15 minutes. Tom and I have been researching breeders and trying to figure out if we are choosing the right breed of dog. I really think we should just get a shelter dog but we have to watch and make sure we get a dog that is okay with kids with allergies. Emmy has mild pet dander allergies.

lissawynn,

I wanted to let you know that www.babystyle.com is having a great sale on their maternity stuff. The code extra50 gets you an extra 50% off their clearance stuff and they have some CUTE stuff-almost makes me wish I was pregnant again. :teeth:

Be back later. :wave2:

Good afternoon everyone!

I think I can actually see a bit of sun trying to get through the clouds! :sunny: Today was Costco and Target day here and boy were they a madhouse. :crowded: Everyone was fighting for the samples at Costco. If you weren't careful, you'd lose a hand trying to get some of their samples. :lmao: I'm so pooped after our excursion that I could use a nap.

Ginamarie - Congrats on the closing going so smoothly for you! It is always so exciting to move into your own home! You got a lot accomplished yesterday too! :thumbsup2 Good luck getting everything else unpacked and with all of your errands.

SL & Lissawynn - I've got a Dell Inspiron laptop too. My old laptop was a HP and I loved it until I dropped it and broke it. :guilty: This one is fine and it does overheat at times which makes me kind of nervous.

Lissawynn - I was going to tell you that I love your new picture in your signature. Your dh and Jimmy look so much alike! :goodvibes Good luck getting your house cleaned.

SL - That is great that you got one of your scrapbooking projects done!!

Robin - That pedi sounds so heavenly! :cloud9: I told my dh today that I would love a spa treatment one day. Have fun at the bday party later.

Joats - Memoirs of a Geisha was a great book and good movie. :thumbsup2 My dh fell asleep at the end of the movie so we need to see it again sometime.

DisKim - We have a Yorkie dog and she is great for people who have allergies. Her hair is silky so their isn't any dander issue. I heard that poodles are good too but they can be high strung. While I love my dog, my only issue with her is that she has accidents in the house and that is definitely not good. Good luck getting your house in order!

Nucpharm - Have a great day out with the girls!

Zalansky - Have a great trip!

Hi to Hillbeans, Gems, Justhat, Floridafam, Fabumouse, Val, Tamie, Tasha, BNBmom, GLT, Ryan840, Cabmom, J&D, Gretchen, Bellacam and everyone! :wave2:

Ok, study break over! Everyone have a wonderful weekend!

FF- I forgot to say that I vote for the Octopus too- that is a funny costume!

Jill- a Target and Costco trip in the same day can wear me out too! Esp if it's crowded!

Kim- I hope you are able to choose the right doggie for your family! :wizard:

Lissa- That is a great pic of Jimmy and Daddy. :thumbsup2

Well, the birthday party was fine. I was a little miffed at first because we got to the park right at 10:30.....and NO ONE ELSE WAS THERE! I was like, wait a minute....is this the right place? Maybe she meant the other park (she just told me about the party, I didn't have a written invite). So we go to check the other park, and then I see the birthday boy and his dad driving up. But the mom, whom I'm chummy with, didn't come til about 11! She ran late getting the cake and stuff. I guess I am just the type who makes SURE I am at the party place at least 15 minutes early, before guests arrive. The kids had fun at the park, and I always enjoy chatting with her, so it was fine in the end.

I think we have a bday party to go to in Sept., and then we are done with the wave of birthdays in our circle until holiday time, when it's Sammy's turn.

I just did the floors and now I am taking 5. I have to get the kid's bags packed for Gramma and Grampa's tonight. I had a light lunch of just a half of a lo-fat hotdog and 2 pieces of cheese and crackers so I can EAT like a pig at Benihana's tonight. I might have an apple to tide me over. Almost more than dinner, I am so excited to shop with out the kids! I want to just browse in William Sonoma, Crate and Barrel, some clothes stores....I don't plan on really buying anything, but oh, just to look without worrying about them knocking something over or nagging me will be so lovely! :cloud9:

Did I tell you gals that DH thinks I'm being over the top with all those outfits I bought neighbor's baby? He was like, "Honey....her mom isn't even going to give her this much...don't be a show off!" He didn't tell me to return anything, but to just dole out some of the outfits to her later. I think I am going to return two things that I just didn't love....only bought them cause they were about $5.

Hey, everyone! I am so far behind and will probably never be able to catch up but I wanted to drop in while taking a much needed study break and say HI!

School is going well but I am sooo busy with it. I have literally had a test or a quiz and tons of out-of-class assignments for every class every time we meet. That is not counting my 2 online classes! I have 3 quizzes and several assignments due on Tues. and they are pretty time-consuming. I took a major exam on last Tues. but I still don't know my grade because my professor's son was sick and she wasn't there the rest of the week. I should find out how I did this Tues. I also have 2 more major exams on Thurs. I needed a break so here I am!

We only had 15 people get accepted into my program this year and 2 have already dropped! The class that was accepted last year only have 11 left so I am guessing that is about how many we will have next year too. I am not dropping as I really like my major and can see myself making a career of it. It does require a lot of time and dedication but I am committed to it so that is not a major concern for me. I also am doing pretty well in it, even though I am dreaming about all of these assigments at night and there have been days where I feel like school has taken over my life. It will all be worth it at graduation though!

Dh and I are going back to WDW next May afterall! He wore me down and now I am very excited about it. My last final during the Spring is May 8 so we are going to leave on May 9 and drive through the night again and should arrive at Disney on the morning of May 10. Kylie's 2nd b-day is May 5 but I will be so busy studying for exams that weekend that we are going to wait and celebrate it when we arrive at WDW. She won't know the difference yet anyway. Mother's Day is also during the time we will be there so it should be a fun week. We are planning to stay at POFQ and I am REALLY looking forward to that! I can't wait! BUT I HAVE TO...WAAAHHH! :( ;)

Well, anyway, that is really all that is going on here but I thought I'd update you.

Jill~ Out of the 15 people that were in my class I am the 3rd oldest! There is one woman who is 38, one who is 34, and then me...and I'm only 25! The rest are around 20-22. We do have one 18 year old too. I feel like even though I am young I am still lightyears ahead of them in experience in some areas. Most of them are still out partying and I have been married nearly 7 years and have a child. I feel like I am in the twilight zone some days, lol! But I like all of them so it's fun to hear about their weekends anyway. It does make me seem older than I am sometimes though.

GLT~ I hope Leif had a great b-day!

I know I'm missing pretty much everyone but I really am out of the loop on this thread right now. I hope everyone is doing well though.

I think I have picked the costume I am going to order Kylie for Halloween when dh gets paid next week. I could still change my mind but I like this one because it is still pretty hot in Mississippi on Halloween and this one doesn't look like it would be too terrible. Plus, Kylie is obsessed with cats so I think she would get a kick out of seeing herself in the mirror looking like a leopard! And you really can't beat the price of it either! Here is the link:

http://www.e-halloweencostumes.com/c411-pink-leopard-infant-costume.html

Okay, time to get back to studying! Have a great day everyone!

OK, do any of your children just tend to scream at the top of their lungs. Aidan has taken to screaming constantly. I know it is because he can't talk yet and it is his way of letting me know what he wants but it is driving me batty. I'm actually really impressed at how well Emmy and Alex are handling it. I had to leave the dinner table because I just hit my limit. I just don't react to it but I feel like screaming back at him. The one positive thing is it is making me want to go back to work (it's really not but I'm using that to deal with it).

Well, my house is not in order. I just can't get anything done with Aidan around. We really need to get out of the house. We were in all day because of the rain. I think we are going to go to Six Flags tomorrow since we have the passes and it won't cost anything.

One last thing and I'll stop rambling. I got my electric bill today. Luckily, I pay the budget amount but I nearly fainted when I looked at the actual charge. Are you ready for this........ $668! :faint: :scared:  . This is for the time period that I was in Disney! We left one a/c unit on at 80 degrees. I thought it would be much lower than normal! I'm ready to move. My dad just moved to NC and told me about this great house a block away from him - 4 bedrooms, 3 full baths for 198K. Oddly enough, my realtor from NC called just the other day and asked me what was going on. I had just given up because I couldn't take the stress but now I'm not so sure if that was the right decision. And to think that people don't believe me when I tell them I have to work because my bills are high.

OK, enough from me.

Tasha - Wow, it sounds like you are really working hard. What is your major? I'm sure you probably said it but I can't remember.

Jill - I like yorkshire terriers. DH seems to like dogs that look like rats  . If a dog is too cute, he doesn't like it. Emmy doesn't care what she gets. I hate poodles. I was attacked by a standard poodle named Cujo when I was a kid and I've hated them ever since. My mom had to save me.

Robin - I am very envious of your night out. I really need a break from the kids. I don't think it is going to happen any time soon.

FF - The octopus costume is adorable. Will it fit Kona though? I know that she is big like Aidan. I looked at the sizes out of curiosity and I saw the biggest was 18-24 months. I bought Aidan a 2T lion costume and it just fits him.

Tasha and Jill - I'm so impressed with your studying habits. I was never the greatest at studying. I'm a procrastinator when it comes to school. I hope you both have great semesters.
Tasha: :sunny: So great you will be going to WDW in May!
Jill: You are brave to hit Costco and Target in the same day. Glad you survived.
DisKim: :scared1: Your electric bill is outrageous!!! I swear the cost of utilities these days is out of control! Hope the weather is nice enough tomorrow for you to go to Six Flags - sounds like you could use a fun day.
Robin: Have a fabulous time tonight!
Floridafam: Thanks for always posting bargains/sites you find.

I did well at Carters...I got a ton of stuff and the total was only $89 as they were having a good sale and I had a coupon. More than I intended on spending, but got a lot of cute things. I ran into a friend from HS at the store who lives in Boston but was visiting her mom. It was a wonderful surprise.

I'm making pork chops, yellow rice and asparagus for dinner. I am so hungry, I can't wait. I even made chocolate mousse for dessert. Then, we will finish the rest of our movie from last night.
Timer should be going off soon........have a good night!
:)

Hey, all. I wasn't successful finding a new dress at the mall. I'm so sick of wearing the same black dress I wear to every wedding and I thought it would be nice to have another dress in another color. Everything in the juniors' sections was too skanky and everything in the women's sections was like $180 and I only wanted to spend around $50. I only looked in jrs because I know it's usually a lot less expensive.

DisKim - Lucas screams at the top of his lungs, too. Today in the car he was screaming short, loud screams like I do when I see a spider. :lmao:

Tasha - I love the leopard costume for Kylie!

joats - You did well at Carters! I hope to find Lucas some more fall clothes at the outlets on Monday.

Alice28 - I hate it when we show up places and the hosts aren't ready yet. I'm not usually early, but I tend to be on time so if you don't want me there until a half hour later, start the party a half hour later. Glad it was fun, though.

llij - Good luck getting your studying done! :surfweb:

nucpharm - Hope you enjoyed your girls' day.

:wave2: everyone else! Hope you're all having a nice holiday weekend.

Hey everybody!

Had a nice day - Madeleine was up every 2 hours last night, but at least it's a "routine". :teeth: But about my nice day - some very good friends came over with all the baby stuff that I had given to them 4 years ago with their baby, plus all the other stuff they had accumulated (including the crib) and helped clear out the guest room and set up the crib. Plus they brought breakfast and champagne.

Robin - my DH appears to have little interest in sports other than soccer - but he has this weird "man's intuition" about who is in playoffs or who just paid $1 million for a player's contract. I swear there's a secret cheat sheet handed to each man when he heads for the shower each day. Just so they can understand each other - how 'bout them Raiders?!?

Speaking of cheering, DH's story from the special care room was when Madeleine was originally put on the oxygen and they wanted her levels to get up and he was encouraging "come on baby, it's at 60 percent, you can go higher, I KNOW you can!!"

I had my last pedicure before the baby was born. My feet are looking pretty beat up. That's ONE thing that tends to be cheaper around here (I think due to competition). I can get an hour long pedicure, including a foot and leg rub, salt scrub and lotion, and my toes all pretty for $25. It's the best deal around town. :thumbsup2

Jill - congratulations!! DD5 didn't sit up for the longest time due to reflux and we ended up in the EI program. I just cannot say enough good things about them - they were the people who actually diagnosed the reflux, after the pediatrician completely missed it. Anyhow, glad John didn't need their services.

Ginamarie - yay for the move! I am one of the few people I know who actually enjoys moving - (at least to bigger spaces) - I love finding all the new places to put my stuff.

Wow Lissa - that's way too early! DD5 is such a night owl that I've been spoiled by not having to get up until 9 on the weekends. I suspected you had a Dell. Everyone I know has a Dell laptop and also really loves it (except for that little overheating problem).

SL - glad you had a good time at scrapbooking. I'm hoping to keep up with the second child - I've been pretty consistent with DD5's books and our Disney vacation books - I think it's a great idea to do it with a group, so there's a deadline and support.

nucpharm - hope the sale went well.

Joats - okay, the fact that I'm stiff some times getting out of my desk chair might be an indication that I'm getting a *little* older. But it might just be a reminder that I should Dis less. :teeth:

DisKim - I'm a big labrador person - they are SO good with children.

Robin - I'm glad you ultimately had a good time, but I do think it's the host's job to be present at the time they indicate the party will begin. To do anything different almost ensures that at least some guests will be confused about whether they have the right location or time. I know we are all late sometimes, but I always make sure that either I or DH can be present at the time stated on the invitation. Hope you had a great dinner at Benihana's!

Diskim - my child never screamed, but my best friend's did. All I can say is that it was torture for everyone involved. :teeth:

DD is watching My Little Ponies. Yikes.

Can anyone recommend a great baby swing? The one we have is poorly regulated, so the swing gets slower and faster somewhat abruptly. Madeleine keeps waking up.

Hi everyone! :wave2:

We went to Mass tonight so we could sleep in tomorrow, but who am I kidding? John is going to have us up at the crack of dawn. :teeth: This morning I was so tired, that I ignored John's 'talking' in his crib for a bit. Meagan couldn't take it anymore so she went in, changed his diaper, dressed him and brought him in to me. I should have thought of this earlier in the summer and had her help me out, but instead I wait until she goes back to school to think of that. ;)

Tasha - I love that leopard costume for Kylie! Very cute! School certainly sounds like it keeps you busy too! I'm glad to hear that you like it. You are doing a great thing and all of your hard work will pay off. It will be wonderful for you in May to finish up the semester and go to WDW! :cheer2: Post when you can and let us know how school is. I look forward to hearing how it is going for you. :goodvibes

Fabumouse - It sounds like you had a great day! That is was so sweet of your friends to bring over breakfast and champagne! :goodvibes

I love the Early Intervention program around here. Both my daughters needed EI services (PT, OT, and speech) due to low muscle tone. My oldest was very severe and that poor child went through the ringer when she was a baby with us seeing more specialists w/her health problems than I care to remember. EI was a godsend and I am eternally grateful to them. Since John was born with hypotonia too, he was evaluated for EI when he was 6 months old but didn't qualify. I was so excited and praying that we wouldn't need to be evaluated again. How long did your daughter need services through EI? I'm glad they caught the reflux w/your dd!

DisKim - Holy Moly about your electric bill! :faint: That is so high especially since you were on vacation for part of that time. Yikes!! Do you think you will re-visit the potential NC move again? That house price that your dad told you about sounds great! Oh and how scary about the poodle attacking you! Before I forget, John is turning into a screamer too. He isn't screaming b/c he is mad. He just likes the sound of his voice. His latest is to scream during church b/c it echoes. I am slightly mortified by that though and can tell that I am in for a real treat when he gets bigger. :teeth:

SL - Sorry to hear that you couldn't find a dress. I need to find a dress for my 20 year reunion in a few weeks and I really don't feel like spending a lot either. Are there any outlets nearby you that might have dresses at a good price?

Robin - Have a wonderful time out tonight with your dh!! I'm so jealous since I haven't been out with my dh in a long time. I will live vicariously through you! I hope your evening is great!

Joats - Your dinner sounds delicious!!! Have fun watching the rest of Memoirs tonight! :sunny: Congrats on the great deals at Carters too! I really like that store!

I think I am going to call it a day and go to bed. Tomorrow is Beauty and the Beast. My parents are coming over for dinner so not much studying is going to happen. I'm actually all caught up for my classes, but I have yet another licensing (reading assessment) exam next Saturday. I am sure to fail it b/c I haven't had a chance to really study. I'm thinking that I will be taking the test again in January. Oh well...no biggie!

Good night everyone! :wave2:

ETA: Fabumouse - We have a portable swing that we liked. It was the Aquariam take along swing by Fisher Price.

OK, so maybe tomorrow i will have a chance to read a bit and see what you gals are up to.

Leif's party went well, thank you to those who asked about it. I can't believe I pulled it off so last-minute after just getting back. Can't believe my baby is 1!! What a big week, Leif turned 1, DD starts Kindergarten and DS starts preschool. Wow!

Here are some pics from Leif's big day.

P9010089.jpg

This photo didn't come out as well as I thought it did, but we saw a water spout on Lake Erie while on our trip (it rained EVERY day there!). Here's the photo. The white part is the twister and if you look at the lake, you can see where the water is disturbed. It was pretty cool to see.
P8300073.jpg

The other super cool thing I saw was a caterpillar turn into a chrysilis (sp?). That was amazing. I had no idea how it actually happened until then. Very cool.

Nucpharm - ugh, that drive to Ohio is sooooo long. It took 11 hours there and 10 hours back (even though were two hours closer than where we had been going the other way). And we were smushed in DH's sedan as my van still needes to go to the shop. It was a tight fit. I'm happy to be home and back in my van again :teeth:

Fabumouse - sounds like you have great friends to give you all that stuff! What a blessing.

Robin - When does/did Josh start Kindergarten? Is he looking forward to it? Lindsey starts on Tuesday. We labeled all of her stuff today. We visited a few times, but were out of town during the open house when all her other classmates were there. I am keeping my fingers crossed that it goes okay.

I hope to chat with all of you more tomorrow!

GLT~ Love the pics! Leif is so cute! I am glad his party went well and I am glad you had a great trip. You sound like you do have a big week in front of you. Good luck with all of the new transitions.

DisKim~ I am majoring in Health Information Management. Right now I am pursuing a 2 year degree in it. The reason for this is because there are only 3 schools in the entire state that offer the program and are accredited and only 1 offers a bachelor's in it. And of course it would be way too far away for me to attend that school. But the 2 year degree is a great degree for this particular major as well so I decided I would get the 2 year degree and get my career started and then maybe I will take some online classes and earn my bachelor's that way. I am going to wait and see how things go after earning the 2 year degree and starting my career before making any definite decisions on that though.

The best dog I ever owned was a Border Collie. They are incredibly smart and sweet! The 2nd best dog is my Beagle. However, she was a chewer as a puppy and I couldn't leave her home alone or she'd destroy whatever she could! Now she is 3.5 years old and has outgrown all of that and she is excellent with Kylie! They adore eachother. I couldn't ask for a better dog around my child. That poor dog will put up with a lot and is very patient with her.

I also have a miniature pinscher. Today is her 4th b-day actually. She is a yapper and she is not as fond of Kylie because Kylie is a little too wild for her. I love her a lot but I don't recommend her breed for kids.

joats~ I will admit that I am a bit of an overachiever when it comes to school but I am also really good at procrastinating. I have had nearly a week to do a couple of these assignments that are due on Tues. and I haven't even started all of them yet! Instead we went to the IL's tonight so they could see Kylie. I guess I know what I will be spending Labor Day doing!

I am also a bit disappointed. I have been working pretty hard trying to lose some weight. I have lost nearly 15 lbs. I can really tell because my clothes fit much better and my stomach was so freaking huge before. It still is but not nearly as bad as before. Dh can tell I have lost in my stomach and my butt (although I don't see it in my butt, lol!) However, it really sucked tonight to go to MIL's and have her ask DH if he had lost weight! He hasn't. He also hasn't been trying to either. I have been working my butt off but she didn't seem to notice that I had lost some. Oh, well. I guess I will just keep at it and hopefully by Christmas someone will notice. I haven't lost enough to be overly noticeable yet but it just bothered me that she would ask dh that when he hasn't lost an ounce! Okay, I am over it now...promise!

Have a great night, ladies!

Hi gals-

I'm tired! I had TWO drinks tonight! I haven't had two in I don't know how long! The night started off a little stupid because I forgot the freaking pak n play for Molly! So we had to come home (thankfully dad followed us so we didn't have to go back) and get the crib. Duh, I even said to DH, "DON'T let me forget this!"

Anyway, then we went to Crate and Barrel and spent $90 on new glasses, placemats and steak knives. Off to Cheesecake Factory for a cocktail- DH wanted me to loosen up and enjoy my shopping. I still didn't buy anything! He bought some sauces at Williams Sonoma (and I shared lissawynn's SIL registry story) and then I bought Sam the Hook's hat at TDS. I went in Janie and Jack but was still floored by their prices, even tipsy. Went to Gymbo and didn't get anything either. new line is in and I LOVE IT but I know it will be on sale next weekend. I already have permission from DH to buy what I want from it since I bought nothing tonight. :cheer2:

And then dinner was SUPERB. It's just so tasty and we love it every time. I could eat like 50 shrimp there, I swear. We both have a ton of leftovers for tomorrow's lunch or dinner.

I think I am going to take a bath, WITHOUT being bugged by a child or two, and then go to bed in my dreamy bed. Have I mentioned that bed is like a drug? I can't get out of it in the morning! I will seriously have to set the alarm- in my old bed I would be wide awake most mornings by 7 cause I was so uncomfy. I'm telling you ladies- www.bragada.com- go buy one and tell them Robert Black sent ya! ;)

Tasha- YAY for the planned trip to POFQ next May! Good for you! And irritating that your inlaws didn't notice your weight loss. :guilty:

GLT- Leif is SO darn cute. What a love. Joshua starts K on Tuesday; he has his 'meet the teacher' day that day (different kids have them on a different day next week). I think it's a 5:1 ratio with the teacher where she gauges their skill levels. Then the next Monday he starts going daily. He is so beyond ready. He has second child syndrome where he is kind of a smarty pants for his age by watching Big Bro do everything.

Kim- yes, Molly screams sometimes just for kicks. Drives me nuts, esp in the car. And yes, your electric bill is crazy out of control! Come move to Oregon! Ours was $90 last month....then again, our house is probably half the size of yours.

Jill- sounds like Meagan is an A+ helper for you!

Joats- yay for scoring at Carters! I like that store a lot too- I bought a lot for Molly there last time...sadly, the boys are starting to grow out of it. Sam is anyway.

OK, I am getting foggy brain here...plus DH is HOVERING over my shoulder, so I'm going to sign off for now! Night!

Tasha- My mom had a Beagle who she loved dearly, but he was also a notorious chewer. He chewed on all of the furniture he could get near!

GLT- Great birthdya pictures of Leif :)

DisKim- Yikes on the electric bill! That's about the bill we get here in my grandparents' house, but we have a lot of people living here and everything is on central air/heat so it's expensive. I'm hoping the bills won't be too bad in the new house. So far the weather's been a good temperature so we haven't needed heat or AC.
Olivia has become a talker lately too. Lots of babbles and yells. It doesn't bother me much though, since I come from a large loud family. She kinda fits right in.

Alice- Have a great time at Benehana and adult shopping. I like Crate and Barrel too, but I'm always afraid I'm going to break something in there.. and that's just me!!

The house is moving in the right direction. We moved more things there today, and we started priming the kitchen and the bedroom.. the kitchen is almost done (just needs a little touch up), but there's still more to get done in the bedroom.. those vaulted ceilings are a pain. Plus the kitchen is mostly little corners and tiny strips, so it's REALLY tedious. I missed my mom today. She's a great painter. She and my dad were at a wedding, so we were trying to paint and keep them in order at the same time. Tomorrow I'd like to see the kitchen painted and the rest of the bedroom primed, but I'm not going to hold my breath.

Olivia rolled over on her own for the first time today (and then the second and third and fourth time). She went from her belly to her back and was very pleased with herself. As soon as I turned on the video camera though, showtime was over and she just started crying. That little stinker! princess: I was afraid of DBro having an accident all day, but he loves the Nemo bathroom upstairs, so he got through the whole day without any problems (as long as someone agreed to go upstairs with him because he HAD to use the Nemo bathroom).

The weather was awful all day. Remnants of Ernesto were trudging through. Hopefully it won't be too bad tomorrow.

Sorry I missed a lot of you, but I hope everyone is having a great weekend!

Robin - Which mattress did you get? I need to get a new one and I was going to buy one for my birthday in October anyway. They are offering free shipping and 2 pillows right now so it seems like a good idea. I am totally jealous over your electric bill. My house is 1900 square feet plus a finished basement but we don't use an a/c unit down there. I run one big unit downstairs during the day and at night we run 3 small ones in each bedroom. It just doesn't seem like my bills should be that high. I don't get it.

tasha - I love the leopard costume. It's a great price too :thumbsup2 .

GLT - Leif looks like such a big boy! Cool picture of the twister!

Jill - Oh, your DD is so nice. Emily came in my room this morning and informed me that Aidan was awake (I told her I knew and was ignoring him because I was tired). Then she promptly went back to bed and covered her head with her pillow and blankets  . BTW, I am revisiting the idea of moving to NC. I know they pay their teachers half of what they make here though so I don't think I would want to get back into teaching down there. DH started looking again but he has no confidence and never thinks he is qualified for anything.

fabumouse - That was so nice of your friends!

I have had a habit of waking up around 2 or 3 am and I can't get back to sleep. It's terrible! I'm so tired right now. Everyone else is sleeping. I wanted to go to Six Flags when it opens but I don't think that will happen. I don't really feel like going but I can't think of anything else outside to do that would not require me spending a lot of money.

Here I am, at 5AM. I have a headache. Am I really so old-fogey that I get a headache from 2 drinks? :confused3

Kim- we splurged a bit and got the Madison. DH did several hours of research on beds after we tested the Tempur Pedics. The Bragada was the one 'knock off' that had the same per cubic inch density as the Tempur Pedic, for about half the price. They also have the warranty, which is nice. I say go for- I said last night to DH "This is the best money we have spent- why didn't we do it sooner?" And he pretend slugged me because he has said almost day 1 of our marraige he was willing to put a lot of money into a good mattress and I was the cheapie.

When you refer people to this company, they give you $100. That's why I mentioned DH's name.

Our house is about 1400 square feet, plus the basement which we also don't heat or cool. (it's not finished). Do you have central air, or individual window ACs We have 4 of the individual ones.

GM- congrat son Olivia rolling over! That's so exciting! :Pinkbounc I hope the painting continues to go well and that you get it done when you want.

fab- that was so, so nice of your friends to come over and help you get all the baby stuff in order, set up the crib, and bring some champagne! :cloud9: Very sweet!

Well, I am going to pop some motrin I think.

Hi ladies. I did manage to sleep a little longer this morning. Yesterday was a pretty productive day. I managed to get the house pretty clean and then we headed out to Target, Sam's, Old Navy, and had lunch at Red Robin's(DH loves their bottomless fries).
For the bday gift, I bought a fleece Dora throw and a pair of Dora pajamas. I also got some white board markers and pens in the back-to-school section at Target for 30% off. I got two pairs of pants, two shirts, and a sweater at Old Navy. It was $15 of $75 or more, so I "saved" some $$$. Then we went to Sam's...Going with DH is a joke. He just kept putting stuff in the cart. I did get a few staples that we needed like cereal, rice, diced tomatoes, dog cookies, frozen chicken breasts, etc.
I don't know what you all do for trick or treaters or for your kids at school, but Sam's had little cans of Play Doh (66 cans in Halloween shades) for $9.66. I thought that was a great price. Also, our district has implemented a wellness plan, so students can't be given candy anymore.
I have no idea what we're doing today. DH went to get a cup of coffee and Jimmy is still sleeping. I do have to vacuum again and I didn't get any laudry done. I was hoping we could take a drive to OCNJ for lunch/dinner at the Clam Bar, but I have so much stuff I need to do. We'll see what happens.

Alice - I'm happy your had a nice dinner/shopping trip w/o the kids. We got another thank-you note from SIL yesterday for her wedding gift. I really hope she like the towels b/c she's gonna have to use them for a long time to get our money out of them.

SL - Sorry you couldn't find your dress.

GLT - Great pics of Leif.

DisKim - Sorry your electric bill was so high. Our central air makes ours skyrocket in the summer.

I gotta go. Jimmy is up.

Tasha - your info about the beagle explains a lot! We have a shephard/beagle mix and our dog ate our couch when she was about a year old. I didn't realize it was the breed!! LOL She is great with the kids, is about 70 pounds, but is driving me absolutely insane lately. She has been running out of the house every time we open the door and roaming the neighborhood. I just know the cops are going to ticket me for it one of these days (plus it's usually when we are already late for something and the last thing I want to do is search for a dog). She's also been shedding up a storm and stinky. Yesterday I washed her outside and we brushed her. Hopefully that will help.

I think it's great that you are going to school. I hope it is going well so far and that Kylie still likes the daycare.

Val - how's your new job going? I'll have to read back posts to see if you've mentioned it.

Robin - sounds like a nice night out with dh. We still haven't had a night alone in five years! I tried to schedule one, but dh was being a PITA and said no, his loss.

Leif is trying to close the laptop, gotta go.

ETA - Leif walked away so I'm gonna try again, oh, he's back....ds is calling him away....okay

ginamarie - way to go Olivia on rolling :Pinkbounc watchout, she'll be everywhere! Cute about dbro going potty in the Nemo bathroom. Sounds like you have moved in to your house, I hope it went well and that the unpacking is going/went well.

lissawynn - sorry this pregnancy is giving you such complications. Hopefully once the baby is born the child will be so good to make up for it!

diffucult babies? someone a ways back mentioned that, maybe a new mom? Any way, feel free to PM me about that. I have had three of them! LOL DD had to be held ALLLLLL the time or else she cried. DS was very colicky until he was about 7 months and Leif was high maintenance for the first few months and then got easier (thank goodness as I had several nights of dispair saying "I can't do colick again" - and if you read old posts we had LOTS of sleepless nights).
