Good morning all! Back to the daily grind!

icebrat--Tess is just adorable! Good score on the clothes and things, too--we'll have you as a "Gymbo power shopper" in no time! I can see why you're taking Tess--who could resist that little face!

nucpharm--We joked that Luke would have to come out of the womb talking, just so he could get a word in edgewise! My older three never shut up! I'm more surprised at what the word was, I was expecting "Dada" or some such. BTW, Jocelyn's first word was "Uh-oh!"

Robin--I have had shopping trips like yours--it's kind of like, just kill me now, I don't have the energy to do it myself! And my kids wonder why it's such a thrill to go to Wal-Mart all by myself, alone!

Oh, and BTW, our rec room is huge and tall. We have an oversized 2-car garage, and the rec room is over that. Most of it is vaulted ceiling, but part of it has a loft over it. You can stand in the middle of the loft, but the sides slope. DH put in things so the swings and trapeze go in there in the winter time, and for Robert's birthday one year, DH put in an indoor sandbox. The down side is, it's typically heated by electric ($$), but there's a wood stove, too, so it's where we go on snow days and the like. Anyway, it's abig room, but a ton of fun for the kids, and makes a great party spot.

J&D--What do you mean, you don't let your DD have unlimited amounts of soda and junk food all day long?!? What a mean mommy! OMG, that would just drive me nuts!

Kim--I hope Aidan is feeling better soon. It's so hard when a little one is sick--even if you go to work, your mind isn't there.

"Hi" to all the moms I missed!

Good morning. Lucas is feeling much, much better. The steamy bathroom really helped. DH and I hit the Disney Store and Target in a major way yesterday. Lucas is done except for an Elmo we want to get him (I've given up hope of finding a TMX). DH will be done as soon as I make a Target order online and my nephews will be done once I buy one more little toy. That's a huge chunk of gifts I won't have to worry about anymore.

What's the difference between being a WPASADI cheerleader or audience member? I didn't want to do the game since I mostly DIS from work and I wouldn't be able to commit the time, but I wouldn't mind participating in some form and supporting Alice28, J&D, and Ginamarie. (Any other New Moms in the game?)

J&D - It's so tough when other parents don't discipline their kids. I either feel like a goody goody or the bad guy.

icebrat - WTG on the shopping! Tess is a cutie!

val - Glad you had a good time at the reunion. My sister's 10 year was on Friday.

DisKim - Did your DH manage to get the decorations up?

nucpharm - Lucas's first word was "uh-oh" also. He can now say quite a few words, but he's not the talker I thought he'd be.

BnB - Your rec room sounds great.

Alice28 - You know, I had the baby back ribs at Chili's on Saturday and I was pretty disappointed. It must have just been a one time thing. I'm usually pretty happy with them.

Morning! Quick moment of peace...nice to be alone with Carson in my nice MESSY house.

SL - glad Lucas is better!! Sounds like you are ahead on your shopping!

BnB - I hear you! Back to "normal" today - if I can find my floor, I'll be happy! Your rec room sounds so awesome - swings? trapeze? sandbox? Paradise for your kids!!

J&D - glad you survived your air mattress for the weekend! It's amazing how different parents can be, isn't it? Must drive you batty having such lenient parents in your DH's family!

diskim - hope Aidan improves today - sorry you can't stay home but it sounds as if he'll be in good hands. Did Emily enjoy the Molly movie? The girls thought it was just "ok" compared to the other two. I thought it just dragged - no adventure!

icebrat - looks like a successful shopping trip! Tess is absolutely adorable!! Yes, you'll have a bit more laundry to do!!! That's funny about your DP and the doll...I think you need to over-ride her fears and get that baby a doll or two or three!!!!

robin - sorry about the lousy shopping experience...sometimes it just ends up that way. I went to Chili's Saturday and couldn't decide what to get. When the waiter got to me, I ended up ordering the grilled chicken sandwich and it was pretty good. Never tried their ribs before - guess it's the southern thing...I require "official" bbq!!!!

nucpharm - way to run!! Sounds like you got all decorated - I'm jealous!

val - glad you had fun at your reunion!

Ok - very crabby boy in my lap. I need to run errands so he'll get a nap!!! :)

Oohh.. one more thing! My exchange buddy should have received her package on Friday or Saturday - the delivery confirmation says it was delivered. I know this person has CONSTRUCTION going on at home so I want to be sure she got it! ;) !!

And J&D - Carson is wearing his Pooh shirt today - way cute!!!!

OK gals, I'm asking you for a favor- come be an audience member for the WPASADI games and roots for your fellow mommies! You can cheer on more than one team- here is the link- http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1285305.

I'm on rewards and rumors; Jen is on sub-community and GM is on restaurants (but you will have to clarify #1 or 2 GM!). :goodvibes

Chili's was OK. Joshua was super charged hyper. Sam got what he wanted most from his grandparents- a certain PS2 game, that now he has to wait to play, and a Star Wars set he wanted. Plus $10. Molly ate 2 cobs of corn. I went with a salad. DH's steak arrived cold, and then had to wait forever for his A1 sauce. The waiter asked him if something was wrong, and he said, "Well, it arrived cold to begin with, and now it's even colder..." So the waiter stammered and offered to put it back on the grill- well, when someone orders a steak medium rare, you don't offer to grill it longer to heat it up- then it becomes more medium well, you know? So, DH was like, no that's ok. It was awkward because he NEVER complains about his food to waiters. So, the manager came over and not only did he comp the steak, but gave us a free entree card for next time. That was very nice.

It's very cold here, but it didn't snow....at least not in our neighborhood, maybe in the hills it did. I need to get in the shower and get ready to go to the PO to mail the PS2.

BNB- your rec room sounds FABULOUS! Wow- your children must be in hog heaven in there!

J&D- it's so frustrating to be around people who have such different discipline techniques than your own for their kids. I am like that with best friend and her child who I talked about 2 days ago. It has seriously affected my friendship towards her as I just can't stand being around them for more than a couple hours. I keep waiting for them to be a bit more strict with him, but it's not going to happen. Both of them work really LONG hours in retail, and I think they just don't want to spend their time with him being the heavy.

SL- so glad Lucas is feeling better! :cheer2:

Kim- I'm so sorry Aidan is sick....I know how torn you feel about staying home. :guilty: I hope he's feeling better today.

Ice- you will have to buy Tess at least one baby doll. I'm sure it's not something that will prompt her to go get pregnant at 14 just cause she loved her babydoll! ;) It's amazing to me after having 2 sons how little girls just LOVE their dollies! It's instinctual or something!

OK, well it's freezing in our kitchen (where computer is)....I need to get moving. TTFN!

And where are a ton of our mommies?!?!? Hope you gals can check in soon! Alisa, Jill, Tasha, Allison, Hillary, Holly! Hope Loretta is just having a great time at WDW!

hi all!

Hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving! Ours was good, nothing too exciting.

I did get a lot of shopping done on Friday. I have a lot of kids left to buy for, I might check out some online shopping.

icebrat - Welcome! What a wonderful thing you are doing for Tess!

alice - That was quite a babysitting adventure you had, yuck! I owe you a pm and a trip to the post office. I hope to get to both today!

j&d - I hate that when parents let their kids do stuff that you wouldn't let yours do. It's hard to explain it to them.

sl - Sorry Lucas had/has such a bad cough. I'm glad he seems to be a bit better. Tyler is still going through a coughing thing at night sometimes.

kim - I hope Aidan feels better soon. I'm sure he'll be ok whoever is caring for him, I understand about wanting to do it though.

diz - I used to run errands to get Tyler a nap too. Cute pictures of Carson you posted too!

ff - How is Kona doing?

nucpharm - Woo hoo on the running!! Good job on the decorating too.

val - Sounds like quite a reunion!

bnb - Wow, sounds like you have a fun rec room!!

I should run. I have a million things I want to get done today and I need to start!

Talk to you all later.

Tamie

Alice- I’m sure the tree will fill up. I actually collect Christmas ornaments from each place we visit. I need to get my WDW 2006 Christmas ornament in a couple of weeks. Between the salad and the ribs, the ribs would get my vote every time!

DisKim- HAPPY BIRTHDAY EMILY!

Oh, I’m on Restaurants Board #1!!

Olivia is hanging out with my mom and DBro today. She’s still getting up for nursing in the middle of the night these days, but not nursing all that much during the daytime (at least when we’re together). I had to take a bottle out of the fridge this morning, because I could barely pump any. There are days when I think it’s a sign that I should start weening her, but there are so many times when she’s so happy nursing that I don’t want to take it away from her. It’s getting frustrating though, since my mom insists that I’m not bringing her enough milk during the day, but I have nothing else to pump. We’ve been supplementing with formula a little, but I feel like it’s a slippery slope- the more I supplement, the less I produce. Of course we’ll be together 24/7 while in WDW, so if she nurses with me all day long I might have my supply back by Christmas. We’ll see. Sorry for the nursing vent! I get long winded sometimes.

OK, time to make that appointment for my head surgery.

BnBM- You rec room sounds great.

SL- An official audience member can win prizes, but someone who is just a cheerleader can't.

dizagain- I bet Carson looks cute in his Pooh onesie.

Alice28- Have all of your team members finally checked in?

Tamie- Have you ever thought about making different types of crafts to sell in addition to the growth charts? When my grandmother was alive my mom gave her a wooden family tree for Christmas that she had picked up at a craft show. I was thinking that I would like to do something like that for our parents, but I haven't seen anyone making them.

Ginamarie- When is your surgery?

DisKim- Happy b-day to Emmy! Hope Aidan is feeling better today.

TTFN!

I just wanted to check in real quick. Aidan is totally miserable. My mom said he asked for me all day. I nearly started to cry at work. My students felt so bad. They kept telling me to go home. Honestly, that class probably could have run pretty well without me. They are such a great group. Aidan has a throat and chest infection. The doctor said it would get worse before getting better. He'll probably have to be home the whole week. I think I'm taking tomorrow off while he is still in bad shape and my mom can take over the rest of the week.

Diz - Emily liked the movie. I didn't get to watch it because I had so much to do. She came to me in tears once or twice. I wonder if they will ever do a Kirsten movie. They seem to be making a doll out of the friend each year but Kirsten's friend dies on the ship. Who would want a doll of a dead girl? I really think too much, don't I.

Well, Emmy's American girl came in the mail today from my stepmom. She's going to be so happy. I picked up some balloons and a teddy bear when I went to get Aidan's medicine. She opened her presents yesterday since I didn't want to make her wait all day and I knew she wouldn't be up before I left in the morning. I gave her a pink Nintendo DS and just a few other small gifts. I think she thought she was going to get the okay for the puppy because she looked a little depressed. I feel a little bad about stringing her along.

Well, I better go caffinate myself before Aidan wakes up. We're picking up Pizza Hut for Emmy's birhday tonight since we can't go out with Aidan. Then, she's going to play Bingo at the nursing home with the girl scouts (her choice).

I signed up to be an audience member for WPASADI and so I'll be cheering on Rewards & Rumors, Sub Community, and Restaurants #1! :cheer2:

DisKim - Poor Aidan. I hope it doesn't get too much worse. (I don't think that sentence even made any sense - sorry :lmao: ). Happy birthday to Emmy.

dizagain - I clicked on the link in your signature, but I couldn't see any pictures. I'll have to try again at home.

alice28 - Glad you at least got comped for the cold food.

tkyes - Hope you got all your errands done.

ginamarie - I know supplementing is one of the things that led to the downfall of my great nursing plan. I hope you get your supply back.

J&D - Thanks for the info. I signed up (as you can see from the top of my post). :thumbsup2

Hi Mommies,

I am so tired but I wanted to try and get caught up. Kona is on the mend, I hope. The poor thing was so constipated from being sick, dehydrated and then having all of the fever medicine. I think we have got that under control now. I've gotta hand it to my other 2 kids. They have been troopers during the time Kona was sick. They kept their rooms clean, did a lot of reading and really helped out around here.

Dh is off this week so we've enjoyed spending the day together. He just took off to get the kids and bring them their bikes-they wanted to ride them home from school. He left here riding DS's bike and looked kind of silly. :)

I can't believe how close Christmas is. I feel the pressure already. I'm done for DH and the kids but I'm just starting to get nervous that something is going to go wrong. Money is preey tight until Christmas because of DH's gift and it is hard trying to explain that to him without going into a lot of detail.

DisKim,

Happy Birthday Emmy!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :cheer2:  :Pinkbounc I hope she has a wonderful day. Sorry to hear Aidan is sick.

I hope everyone has a great Monday. I'm tired and I think I will lay down with Kona for a while.

Be back later. :wave2:

Diskim--Happy Bday to Emily!!!! So sorry to hear that Aidan is sick--hopefully it won't get worse before it gets better! Oh, and I meant to mention yesterday about the working out, I do most of my stuff on the treadmill b/c of the kids. I either hit the gym where there's childcare or wait until naptime or bedtime and use the one at the house. It really is hard to try to fit in a good run with 2 rugrats in the house, but if I can get it done, even if at 10pm, I feel loads better!

gina--hope your nursing issues resolve quickly.

val--sounds like your reunion was very interesting!

tkyes--hope you were able to get to your chores/errands today!

glt--are you back yet? Sending lots of prayers and PD your way this week!

icebrat--no supermom here--just prioritize a little differently--if you saw the mess in my house you'd realize how I can workout and put up decor too! ;) Cleaning is way down on my priority list, as is laundry!Oh, and yes, we do chat a lot here --don't feel like you have to keep up--just post when you can-no one gets offended if you forget them! We;re a friendly bunch! :goodvibes

Well, we've been busy today. Got a small workout in this morning, then headed to TRU. I got my dneice a Little Tikes keyboard during the buy1get1 sale a couple of months ago. But low and behold, her grandmother (dsis MIL) bought her not 1 but 2 keyboards for xmas. So, I had to go and try to exchange the one I got for free! Luckily, all the sales people at TRU were extremely helpful and I was able to exchange my free item for another little tikes toy--but it did take around 20min. for them to figure it out! ;) Then DH met us for lunch and then, since it's in the 70s today (go figure!) we hit the park. Now I need to go wrap some gifts before nosy Miss Emma finds out where Santa is hiding them! Will chat later!

So much for getting my million things done today! I did get a few things done, but not as much as I had hoped.

Tyler is at my aunt's today and DH was going to pick him up around 4:30. She called today "I forgot to tell you we have some place to be at 4:30" She constantly wants to get off early. Now I have to stop what I'm doing and go get him. I could have had another hour and a half to work.

I haven't even showered! Oh well!

Happy Birthday to Emily!! Stringing her along on the puppy will be so worth it!!

nucpharm - Glad you got the exchange figured out.

ff - That's great that Kona is on the mend. LOL about your DH riding your sons bike. :)

diskim - Poor Aidan!! Poor mommy too.

j&d - i haven't really done anything else besides the growth charts. Those seem to keep me busy enough. The tree thing sounds cool. If I could find something pre-cut, I could easily paint it. I don't have the tools to cut out a hunk of wood though.

gm - Good luck with the nursing decision.

We are pretty sure that Tyler is calling his dad by his first name. :rotfl: He walked around yesterday saying "joe". He says it when he is looking at DH or wants to get his attention. I guess he hears me say it all the time.

Gotta run!

Tamie

Hi all!

How are you? It's been crazy here again this week, I had a meeting on Friday with the Hallmark Cards Representitive and they are willing to back us with our shop. They put all the shop fittings in and stuff so that will save use lots of money. Also having their backing will make it much easier for us, and hopefully as people recognise the Hallmark Brand then we should do ok. We put an offer in on the shop unit that we want too so we are just waiting for the answer on that. Fingers crossed that they accept it - we didn't go hugely under the asking price only like 3k but you know how these things are.

Shelby has got to go for her shots tomorrow, I am so not looking forward to it, luckily DH is coming with me as I can;t actually hold her on my own, and the last time she went she tensed her legs up so much that she popped the needle off the syringe and I got covered in the medicine!

I have taken this week off work sick as I just can't face it at the moment, Shelby's sleeping patterns have taken a turn for the worst, she was getting in to a bit of a routine and going to bed - in her own bed quite well, now she had gone all hay wire and doesn't want to again. although having siad that she has cut a top tooth this week also so I guess that hasn't helped much.

Sorry to go one about us so much. I hope all the moms and babies are well.

gems

BNB- I got your contribution today- thank you! :thumbsup2

Tamie- LOL about Tyler calling daddy, "Joe." Molly occasionally calls her daddy, "BOB!!" Saying it just like I do when I am calling him from upstairs, etc. It's funny. :teeth: I'm sorry you didn't get as much accomplished as you had hoped today. I feel the same.

:bday: party: Happy Birthday to Emmy! I hope she has had a good day- sounds like she got some very nice gifts. Boy will she be thrilled at Christmas with her doggy! I'm so sorry Aidan is so ill...that's the pits.

I heard from GLT- she made it back to Wisconsin OK. She is meeting with her atty tomorrow- please keep her in your thoughts and prayers as she is very, very tired and still stressed out.

FF- LOL about your DH riding your son's bike! DH rode Sam's once- but just a half a block- not all the way to school or anything! I can't wait to hear his reaction about his own new bike. And I'm glad Kona is feeling better.

nucpharm- so glad you were able to exchange the free toy at TRU! I find since I have become a mother that A. Cleaning never, ever ends. And B. I have to clean SUPER FAST if it's ever going to get done. Before it gets messed up again. :rotfl:

THANK YOU SL for being a cheerleader for us! I'm anxious to see what the first challenge is.

JD- all our team members did finally check in- some were out of town for T-Day.

GM- The nursing thing is so hard, isn't it? I had zero problems with my boys, but definitely didn't make as much milk with Molly. In hindsight, I know stress had a lot to do with it for me. I didn't want to admit it at the time, but I was really on the edge almost all the time. I hope you are able to do what you need to do- it's not the end of the world to supplement her with some formula if she's hungry! Soon she will be eating more solids too, and that will cut down some on her demand for formula and breastmilk.

Ice- Wow, you have made lots of phone calls today! I meant to tell you in a PM back that I grew up in San Jose, CA. Not too far from where you lived before you moved to Tampa, no?

I wonder what Loretta is doing right now....I hope she is just really enjoying her family time and not too worried about her dad.

Oh- GUESS WHAT- I read on mouseplanet that at the Polynesian Capt Cook's food court there is a self-serve dole whip machine!!!!!!!!! I just about wet myself reading that! I know what my midday snack will be! And no hot line to wait in at Adventureland! :cheer2:  :cheer2:

AND- DH gave a hint about my Christmas gift- he said it's something that will ease my stress level and I think it has something to do with our trip. I'm always SO ANXIOUS about what we spend while on vacation- I wonder if he bought us some gift cards or the dining plan to add on somehow? He definitely has me guessing.

here is a picture of my Bear in a Balloon - I forgot to post it last week!

Whadda ya think?

Good evening everyone!

I am currently debating with myself about going to a neighborhood meeting - it's a group I helped form, but if I go tonight, I would have to take both kids. Ugh!

Icebrat - you must be overwhelmed with those logistics! Is Tess going to stay in contact with her siblings?

Tykes - Kailey did that too, but after she could talk. I think she wanted to see if we'd be offended if she called us by our first names. :teeth:

Nucpharm- congrats on getting the decorations up! And sorry you cannot find your holiday music - that's just not right after Christmas music day!

Gems - good luck on the vaccinations! I really hate them - I try to keep a smiling face on but I always feel like a traitor.

Robin - thanks for the update on GLT. I hope her attorney gives her some good advice and helps her get through this awful time.

J&D - I totally understand your frustration with that grimy, soda filled kid! I have a friend who caters to EVERY whim her kid has, so she's pushing the 5 year old on the swings and I just say no.

I signed up to be an audience member and a cheerleader- but I haven't heard anything yet. :confused3

Val -what an adventure! Hope someone got photos. :teeth:

I don't have to go to this neighborhood thing, right? :rolleyes1

Okay, so I thought I would post some pics of our xmas decor--I'm proud of my work--can you tell??? ;) Oh, and Fab, just to let you know I uncovered the missing xmas music last night--now to torture the rest of the family for the next month!!!! :rotfl:

Hi Ladies,

Hope everyone had a nice long weekend. We came back from PA late on Saturday and then yesterday Kevin had a birthday party and we got out the house decorations.

I know that this seems to be the norm now, but how come birthday parties out at places are only 1.5 hours (1 hour of free play)? By the time the hour is over and they're ready to serve pizza and cake the kids are just getting into the party! I know these places try to have a certain # of parties in one day but a 1.5 hour party seems short to me. I think Kevin's bowling party was 2 hours, and if we have a swim party at the Y it will also be 2 hours. I think this is why sometimes it's nice to just have a party at home and get some kind of entertainment there since you have a longer party. Some people probably think i'm crazy and think 1.5 hours is plenty long....

Fabumouse - I'd love to do the 1/2 marathon. I've always been a terrible runner though - I can walk 4-5 miles at a time, but i've always had a hard time with my breathing while running. Oh, and Eczema - I've got it on a few of my fingers and a few spots on my legs also. The minute the temperature drops down under 50 it pops right up. I use a cream called Elicon - it's a steroid though and I use it very sparingly. It works really well. I'm almost down to my last drop though so i'm hoping it gets me through the next few weeks until I somehow get a refil.

Robin - I was LOL at your story of babysitting your friend's child. Maybe if you watch him a few more times you can have him potty trained in no time??? :teeth:

Tamie - Not to steal your thread but Kevin calls me by my first name occasionally - sometimes he does it to get my attention. He gets a kick out of calling his granny by her first name and we all laugh because we think it's funny. He knows not to do it all the time, but it's funny seeing how your kids realize you have a real name outside of "Mommy".

Gems - I love that balloon! Good luck with Shelby's shots - that's scary what happened last time with the needle and the medicine!

Diskim - Sorry to hear your DH was driving you crazy with the holiday decorating. My husband was in full on decorating mode yesterday also. We wanted to get some of the kids clothes moved around so we also got down all of the holiday decor from the attic. Hope Aidan is feeling better soon. Happy Birthday to Emily!!! :Pinkbounc

Icebrat - Good luck with the adoption process. :grouphug:

Floridafam - Hope poor Kona is feeling better soon also.

Robin - I'm sorry about your bad dream the other night. I also heard how much rain you guys have been getting - ugh!!!

Nucpharm- I can't believe you ran 12 miles. You go girl! If you run that much, how much extra can you eat for the day? Don't you burn off a ton of calories? I'm sure you're in great shape!

J&D - I read a few pages back that Jenna likes the little people - so glad!!

I'm sitting here typing and my eyes are drooping shut - i'll catch up some more tomorrow with anyone I may have missed. Hi to all my mommy friends!

I hope Loretta is having fun in WDW too!

Talk to you all tomorrow - goodnight!
