Noooooo!!!! DH loves drip coffee and I am pod coffee all the way so the dual pots are perfect for us! Really enjoyed the pots at BW and CC last week. DH is not happy.

But, the rooms are beautiful, except for the kitchen backsplash, which I am still not a fan of.

I'm not sure whether to post this here in the AKV master thread or in a separate one, so please be patient with me if this isn't the right place.

I've convinced my sister to go w/me on a WDW trip this fall! The goal is to stay 4 nights at AKL at either Kidani Village or Jambo House in a savanna view studio in Oct or Nov.

We're considering the following 3 sets of dates. Which of these do you all think would be most ideal in terms of ability to get a savanna view studio at the 7 month booking window AND balance out w/crowds in the parks? Needs to be a Wed-Sun trip so sister doesn't have to use more than 3 days of time off from work. Plus, since she's not a huge Disney person like I am, we're sticking to a 4-night/5-day trip this first time. Want to hit up the Epcot food & wine festival while we're there!

• Wed 10/28-Sun 11/1: pro of these dates would be ability to go to a Halloween party at MK 1 night
• Wed 11/4 - Sun 11/8
• Wed 11/11 - Sun 11/15: sister prefers these dates because she gets 11/11 off as a holiday. Is WDW often busier around Veterans Day?

If WDW has extended evening hours this fall for deluxe resort guests, we'll definitely be taking advantage of that.

Originally we were going to do the trip 10/21-10/25, but the fall food & wine marathon (or maybe it's a half marathon?) is that weekend and we kind of want to avoid that.

Savannah view rooms are fairly easily available at 7 months most of the year tbh. Of course things may change now and the resorts will be in higher demand because of the refurbishment but that remains to be seen.

As far as crowd levels the week before Veterans Day will probably be the least crowded in the parks.

We normally travel the 2 weeks around then and the week leading up to Halloween weekend is usually less crowded. That first week of November is jersey week. We are from NJ and meet up with our friends whose children get most of that week off in nj. Hence Jersey week. The Fri/sat/sun may be similar each week, but I think the Wed/Thurs of Oct 28-29 will be less crowded than Nov 4-5 based on personal experiences over the past few years.

If it matters, the deluxe extra hours on Oct 28 will likely be DHS while Nov 4 will likely be AK if they stick to the same pattern.

Given your 3 choices, we'd definitely go with 11/11-15. Jersey Week the previous week is a real thing! We made the mistake one year of doing a family trip during that week, and the crowds were noticeable. Veterans Day is an important day, but it doesn't seem to impact crowds and vacationing at Disney that much, especially when it falls on a Wednesday. That last week of October is likely to be a bit crazy for the Halloween crowds, trying to get in for the most coveted party nights! If it's important you get to a party, then you've already made your decision - otherwise, we'd avoid. The other advantage of November is that the Christmas Holiday decorations are going up and are amazing. It will also be the early dates for the Christmas Party at MK, so maybe that party is a good substitute for the Halloween Party! Good luck with your choice and enjoy the trip!

This would explain why DVC Field Guide's website shows projected lower availability of rooms for the 1st wk of November!

Thanks for mentioning this. I just Google'd the NJ educators conference dates for 2026 and it looks like it's 11/5-11/6.

I have a reservation in a value 1BR for Easter (4/4 - 4/11). I'm assuming we'll be one of the last guests in the room.... but also wondering if any one knows whether or not they are running on or ahead of schedule for the refurb?

Part of me is hoping they give me a call and move me to another property because they're ahead of schedule...

Haven't seen anything that indicates the Jambo room refurb will begin prior to the current May, 2026 date they've been showing. And even when they do start, there's no reason to assume the Value rooms would be the first to be worked on. It also seems like it could be less likely anyone would be asked to change resorts during a very busy Easter week, unless it's absolutely necessary, because capacity around the resorts is going to be high.

Sounds like you have one of the most sought after rooms at AKL during a very busy week! Hope you enjoy a nice, construction-free stay!

Some additional info. I was trying to get a December 2026 value room and noticed 100% of the value rooms for all room sizes were being removed from inventory starting Dec 7th. I can’t 100% confirm the 7th but by the 8th I was checking daily at 12:01am est when you can first see this date as 11 months + 7 days. The rooms were all gone by then before they were actually bookable since was the 7th day before the 8am. This is either a glitch or they pulled full inventory that week which would put the value room refurb estimate to start that first week in December.
