Question for all of you: What is everyone planning on doing on your arrival day?

We are deciding between heading to AK for EMH (open till 8pm) or heading to EP to have a nice sit down meal somewhere

We really struggled with this decision. We always hit MK first but were getting in later than usual. Probably the earliest we could get there was 4pm and the hours are only until 8! We decided to stick with the tradition thoughand do MK with the Wishes Dessert Party...that should make a fun first day!

There are Epcot EMH that night (2/11). I have only done early EMH at Epcot. What are the late ones like? Any chance to ride Soarin/Nemo/Test Track with FP or not? My friend has only been to Epcot once and wasn't impressed b/c of crowds, wait times...I am afraid to take her there for night EMH...I don't know what its like and really, really want her to love EPCOT as much as I do!
Any advice on PM EMH for Epcot??

If you're having trouble booking it call back and speak with someone else... some of them must not really know what they're doing.

Thank you Kristi!! My gosh, I made what I thought was a happy post... And they're acting like I just spend all day on the phone with Disney reservations asking them about the weather and tying up all the phone lines. Wow, how inconsiderate am I for calling Disney in the first place??

Nutballs... That's what I get for straying from our happy family here, huh?

DW and I are going to stay at the Contemporary the 4th thru the 11th. I've dreamed of staying there since I was five and saw it for the first time. It's finally happening after 36 years.

I just finished planning my days at the parks. Gosh I love planning.

Feb 2-Downtown Disney, explore hotel
Feb 3-DHS
Feb 4-Epcot
Feb 5-MK
Feb-6-AK (5pm close time perfect for going back to the hotel and watching the Super Bowl)
Feb-7-probably MK for 1/2 day and then drive home.

Everyone's first day sounds great and is making me get on to my BFF. We are having a girls only trip in February and we have nothing planned. Feels really odd.

At first I thought it was just funny in a sad way that my post on the main board about calling Disney making me happy caused so many people to get all riled up, but being told - several times - that I need therapy because of it is too much. I've been here long enough to have pretty thick skin, but there's a limit. If you guys need me, I'll be at the FB page as time allows.

Hi Alli!

We're going to be kind of hitting the ground running, because our first night is an EMH evening at Epcot and we never miss those evening EMH's there or at MK. I am hoping like crazy that our room will be ready when we get there, so we can take some sort of rest. We will have been up since around 2:30am, and we'll never make it to EMH without a nap or something!

Hi Gina I sooo know what you mean about hoping for a quick rest....mine and my son's plane departs Feb 5 a little after midnight (12:45 am) then a direct 5 hours until we hit Orlando....arrive around 7:45am.....
We are staying club level, so don't know if our room will be ready, we may just be running on adrenaline for the rest of the day!! We are planning on having a pool/resort/Epcot day, ADR at Rose and Crown that evening for Illuminations....I've never seen Illuminations yet, so I am really looking forward to seeing it for the first time!

Our first day we are going to Chef Mickey's for dinner. Last time we did breakfast on our last day and DH said it just made it harder to leave , so this way it will be our warm welcome instead of our sad departure

Well curiosity got the better of me and I had to go read the thread I don't know why I am still surprised at just how mean some DISers are. So then of course I had to reply... Anyone go to the other Disney online communities? Are they as judgemental?

DH went back to his real job today. Yay!! Nothing makes you feel Disney excited like knowing the real paychecks are coming again!!!

WOWSERS- we are getting pounded with snow- up to a foot by tomorrow morning-

I am really hoping that we dont get stuck in a snow storm in February and arent able to fly out- my biggest fear!!!

Sounds good FirstTimer it's gonna be great. I'm trying to figure out how to make time go faster, I am so ready for this trip. I guess that the build up is part of the fun. I'm trying to decide if I'm going to man up and ride Tower of Terror this time. I rode Expedition Everest last trip and so that was a big accomplishment, but the drop is what freaks me out. Only time will tell.

Gina--I don't know you or anything, but it seems like the Dis needs more people like you instead of less, so hope you don't stay gone too long. The more happiness the better, especially with how negative too many people on the internet are.

We drove home in a snow storm the year we went in February. Highways closed down, rest areas were closed and snow almost to the top of the mailbox. It was fun though

the month of January is going to draaaaaaaaaaaaaagggggg. January always feels particularly long anyways, but having to get through it waiting for our trip will make it even longer.

And Feb. too for me since we don't go until 2/24.
