The *Official* February 2011 Thread - Happy Dance Time...The Park Hours Are Out!

Both groups have a choice between All Stars and CBR. I checked out their brochures and I don't see that any particular All Star resort is listed.

Weird! I could have sworn I saw Sports and CBR but I just went back to the brochure and you're right, it says no such thing! :lmao: Luckily I'm checking out of ASMu and into Poly on the 4th so it shouldn't be such a problem for me.

I can't really help with anything else because I've never been, sorry :goodvibes

re: the Pirates & Pals -- do you have to call to find out about that? I'm looking on the WDW site and don't give much details as far as dates and times. It sounds like so much fun, I've never heard of it! (well, I did hear of it - i thought it was the kids pirate thing. Didn't know there was one for the whole family and you could see fireworks!)

Hi lamb616
You can call and make the reservation just like phoning for character dining, wow website is pirates and pals fireworks voyage

Hope this helps

How did you get to book this??? I have been wanting to book it for Feb 13 and I just got off the phone with Disney Dining and they say it is only showing on the system until the end of December. :confused3

sorry, wasn't on last nite. i just happened to read on the boards 2 nites ago it had opened up- thanks dis'ers!- and took a shot and called the next am. the cm asked me what i was looking to book and i said i had heard the dp had been extended to next year, he said yes and asked what date i was looking for. i said the 15th, gave our party info and he booked it. i was shocked how easy it was, as i usually have my ta book everything for us.

Ok, well I decided to call Disney and ask them for advice. I told them I really don't want to be around the cheerleader groups and asked which week in February would be best for avoiding them. The person I spoke to was very frank with me (which I really appreciated) and she told me that if I really want to come in February but want to avoid being around the cheerleaders then I should consider upgrading to a moderate. She said the All Stars may very well fill up and if they do, they will use Pop as the overflow.

After I gave it a day for that to sink in plus I took some time to crunch the numbers, I realized that I was paying for a preferred room at the value resort (I like to be close buses and food court) and we had pretty much decided that $132 was worth the upgrade from QSDP to DDP (since I was able to get a ressie for lunch at LeCellier plus we're planning to do Lilo & Stitch breakfast at Ohana). So when comparing the value resort price plus those two upgrades to the price of a moderate resort price, I realized I was only $250 away.

Since POFQ is being refurbished and it's compact enough that I don't have to pay extra for preferred location....then that's where we're now booked! Plus we're just a short boat ride away from all the amenities of POR.

So...I don't know if anyone is still updating the list. But if you are, you can put me down for 2/12-1/18 at POFQ. Now I need to go set up a new ticker.

Thanks for listening.
Stephanie

Congrats Stephanie! POFQ is really nice :)

Hi Ron

Lamb- Did you get your dessert party booked?

Hope you all had a great Thanksgiving!

PP - did the CM say there are cheerleaders the ENTIRE month of February?? Not that it matters much as changing from ASMU is not an option for us...... but I'd like to be mentally prepared, lol.

Disneyfirsttimer -- I'm not booking the Dessert party (never was). I inquired a few posts back about the Pirates & Pals but I don't think DD will be up for it as she's petrified of Capt. Hook as it is. I may look into it for DH and DS to do one night.

Yes, they said the time period between the end of January all the way to the beginning of March will be an issue. If you look on the WWoS website, it confirms those dates. But I have a feeling the biggest events are the dancers (UDA) the first of Feb and the cheerleaders (UCA) the second week of Feb.

Which dates will you be at ASMu?

last week of Feb. - first week of March.

Is there a link to a schedule on the WWOS website? This is the first I've heard of any groups being there at that time.

P.S. I submitted a request to join the FB group.

Thanks!
Stephanie

Hi Stephanie, welcome! I had a bunch of requests, and one was from someone whose page was completely blank -- no picture or anything. I usually ignore those requests, as they're almost always from some troll who shouldn't be there, so if that was you then please resubmit and I'll get it approved. Thanks!!

I know the CM's are famous (or infamous) for generally not getting info wrong a lot of times... I think this might be one of those times. The cheerleaders, like the Pop Warner peeps, stay at the All-Stars with overflow at the moderates -- usually CBR and POR. There are usually no groups of them at POP, and I have never seen any in our Feb. trips. Individual families of cheerleaders can always decide to stay at Pop if they want, but on the UCA registration form they have the option of AS or CBR.

I'm glad you moved to POFQ. Not to scare anyone, but I can definitely say I would never stay at an All-Star resort in February again! Cheerleaders are annoying enough, to the nth power in large groups, and dealing with them in the mornings before coffee made me think dark thoughts, lol.

Hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving! DS and I were camping with friends, and had an awesome time. Now off to do all the 300 pounds of laundry that came back with us, lol.

Wow that's high. At least you know you now have them, I always feel better once my airline is booked.

*gulp*

that makes it harder for me to complain about my airfare, lol. (But i'm going to anyways ;) )

I just logged on here and saw the AirTran banner up top that says "All destinations on sale". That's the flight I need for our flight home so I excitedly go to the website, see that none of our dates fall in the blackout periods, and....... the price is exactly the same as it's always been. Comes to about $200/pp (this is one way). It says "ALL" fares are on sale and it's for our time period..... :confused3
